{"id":94227,"date":"2023-07-08T16:47:47","date_gmt":"2023-07-08T21:47:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=94227"},"modified":"2023-07-08T16:48:13","modified_gmt":"2023-07-08T21:48:13","slug":"94227","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=94227","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/07\/07\/hunter-biden-probe-shows-corruptness-in-americas-two-tier-justice-system\/\">Hunter Biden probe shows corruptness in America\u2019s two-tier justice system.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>America\u2019s two-tier justice system keeps rolling along.<\/p>\n<p>And Delaware US Attorney David Weiss, who snubbed the House\u2019s request for documents pertaining to his probe of Hunter Biden, is the latest to show how far the Department of Justice will go to keep it rolling.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter, President Joseph Robinette Biden\u2019s black-sheep son, is facing tax and weapons charges that would represent deep hot water for most Americans.\u00a0But Hunter isn\u2019t most Americans.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s the president\u2019s son, and, allegedly, bagman as well.\u00a0And our Justice Department, headed by Attorney General Merrick Garland, is out to spare him the consequences of his actions.<\/p>\n<p>IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley has come forward to report that Department of Justice officials took care to ensure that Hunter couldn\u2019t be charged by ordering US attorneys in Washington, DC, and California not to prosecute.<\/p>\n<p>Weiss didn\u2019t charge Hunter because he allegedly said he lacked the authority to charge for things outside his home jurisdiction.<\/p>\n<p>Garland could have granted Weiss the power to do so, but despite claiming that Weiss had unlimited powers, Garland never made the grant.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter\u2019s charges thus fell through a crack.<\/p>\n<p>IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley has come forward to report that Department of Justice officials took care to ensure that Hunter couldn\u2019t be charged by ordering US attorneys in Washington, DC, and California not to prosecute.<\/p>\n<p>But hey, the tax fraud was only one of Hunter\u2019s legal problems where the Department of Justice was happy to help out.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter did get charged in Delaware, but only with two misdemeanor tax charges and a felony gun charge, for which he\u2019ll get pretrial diversion and no prison time.<\/p>\n<p>The tax charges could carry as much as two years in prison, and the gun charge could produce a 10-year sentence, but Hunter\u2019s plea deal is expected to produce none.<\/p>\n<p>Columnist J.D. Tuccille writes, \u201cIf, as expected, Hunter Biden\u2019s plea deal on tax and firearms charges keeps him out of prison, it would be a remarkable display of leniency. . . . It\u2019s enough to make a suspicious person wonder if the deal was meant to give the appearance that justice was done to divert attention from more serious matters. It\u2019s also a hint of the restraint prosecutors exercise for the powerful, and which the rest of us would appreciate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The tax charges could carry up to 2 years in prison along with the gun charge producing a possible 10-year sentence, but Hunter\u2019s plea deal is expected to produce none. Ya think?<\/p>\n<p>As law professor Jonathan Turley notes, the charges also allow Hunter to avoid discussing the (likely unsavory) sources of the money.<\/p>\n<p>How convenient.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe House Oversight Committee has documented potentially millions in financial transfers from foreign sources to Biden family members.\u2009.\u2009.\u2009. Garland took the most important step in pulling off the controlled demolition by steadfastly refusing to appoint a special counsel. Such an appointment would allow the release of a report that would detail the alleged corrupt practices of the Biden family and the knowledge and involvement of the president,\u201d Turley wrote.<\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s why they didn\u2019t do it.<\/p>\n<p>This seems deeply suspicious, and the House Judiciary Committee is investigating.<\/p>\n<p>But Weiss, ignoring a subpoena, is stonewalling.<\/p>\n<p>People used to say that it\u2019s the coverup that gets you, not the crime, but today\u2019s Democrats obviously don\u2019t believe that.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s been obvious for a while that there\u2019s a two-tier justice system in America.<\/p>\n<p>If you\u2019re a Jan. 6 protester who just wandered around the Capitol, you can expect solitary confinement before trial, and prosecutors who\u2019ll throw the book at you.<\/p>\n<p>But if you\u2019re the son of a (Democratic) president, you can expect to be handled with kid gloves.<\/p>\n<p>Our Constitution forbids \u201ctitles of nobility,\u201d whereby the elite live by different rules than the rest of us.<\/p>\n<p>It doesn\u2019t seem to be working very well, does it?<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Hunter Biden probe shows corruptness in America\u2019s two-tier justice system.
