FPC Files For Injunction Against Washington \u201cLarge Capacity\u201d Magazine Ban<\/a><\/p>\n

Firearms Policy Coalition (FPC) announced that it has filed a motion for summary judgment in its\u00a0Sullivan v. Ferguson<\/a>\u00a0lawsuit, which challenges Washington\u2019s unconstitutional ban on common firearm magazines. The motion can be viewed at\u00a0FPCLegal.org<\/a>.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere can be no serious dispute that the magazines Washington bans are \u2018in common use\u2019\u2014there are hundreds of millions of them [] owned by tens of millions of Americans as private surveys and industry and government data all corroborate,\u201d argues the motion. \u201cIndeed, courts across the country have repeatedly found that these magazines are commonly owned and widely chosen by Americans for self-defense and other lawful purposes. That fact decides this case, and Plaintiffs are entitled to judgment in their favor.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThere are few things more offensive than politicians arbitrarily preventing people from possessing the tools they deem necessary to protect their lives, loved ones, and communities,\u201d said Cody J. Wisniewski, FPCAF\u2019s General Counsel and Vice President of Legal, and FPC\u2019s counsel in this case. \u201cThe magazines that Washington bans are constitutionally protected and it does not have the power to infringe on the rights of Washingtonians by banning them. We\u2019re hopeful that the Court will see the error of Washington\u2019s ways.\u201d<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n
