Why America is Still Great: More People Own Guns and Dogs Than Cats.<\/a><\/p>\n

When something makes you smile.<\/p>\n

According to the latest researdch,\u00a0about 45%<\/a>\u00a0of American households have guns. With some fluctuation. that number has been fairly steady for decades. That, of course, dependent on people actually answering honestly when a stranger tries to find out if they own guns (so the actual number is likely more than 50%).<\/p>\n

There are about\u00a046 million<\/a>\u00a0households with pet cats in the United States, or about\u00a037 percent<\/a>. That\u2019s a lot of murder kittehs running around. Bear with me here.<\/p>\n

As for man\u2019s best friend, about a\u00a065 million<\/a>\u00a0households have a dog living with them. That\u2019s about\u00a052 percent<\/a>\u00a0of the total.<\/p>\n

So what do I get out of this?\u00a0Gun<\/a>\u00a0owners have good taste because more Americans households own dogs than cats. I suppose cat ownership might increase when you can train cats to retrieve birds and flush pheasants, but until then\u2026.. There\u2019s nothing quite like the loyal habits of a 90-pound Lab lapdog.<\/p>\n

Go team dog! Oh, and guns, too.<\/p>\n
