{"id":98003,"date":"2023-11-24T01:30:53","date_gmt":"2023-11-24T07:30:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=98003"},"modified":"2023-11-24T01:30:53","modified_gmt":"2023-11-24T07:30:53","slug":"98003","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=98003","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/kpic.com\/news\/local\/sheriff-homicide-under-investigation-in-southern-oregon-following-report-of-shooting\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Homeowner shoots, kills suspect during home-invasion burglary in southern Oregon<\/a><\/p>\n<p>SHADY COVE, Ore. \u2013 Jackson County Sheriff\u2019s Office detectives are investigating a homicide that occurred Monday night in Shady Cove around 2 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Dispatch received a call that a homeowner had shot a suspect during a home-invasion burglary in the area of Cleveland Street.<\/p>\n<p>Deputies responded, and Mercy Flights medics attempted life-saving measures.<\/p>\n<p>The suspect was pronounced deceased at 2:34 a.m., the Sheriff&#8217;s Office said.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;JCSO detectives are investigating claims of self-defense during the home-invasion burglary,&#8221; the Sheriff&#8217;s Office stated. &#8220;An occupant of the home held a valid protection order against the suspect.
