Investigators are enroute. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/HouNews?src=hash&amp;ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">#HouNews<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/RW7Xt6seNC\">pic.twitter.com\/RW7Xt6seNC<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Ed Gonzalez (@SheriffEd_HCSO) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SheriffEd_HCSO\/status\/1732551127026024661?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">December 7, 2023<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>Chaos erupted at a Houston apartment complex when a homeowner shot and killed a man who forcefully entered his residence.<\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred on the evening of December 6th at the Retreat at Cypress Station apartments, situated at 18200 Westfield Place, according to the Harris County Sheriff&#8217;s Office.\u00a0Deputy sheriffs were called to the scene around 5:00 p.m. after reports of a shooting.<\/p>\n<p>They discovered a man, later identified as Teraice Henderson, with a gunshot wound inside the apartment.\u00a0Despite being rushed to the hospital, Henderson was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.<\/p>\n<p>The preliminary investigation by the authorities concluded that the homeowner had acted in self-defense after Henderson, who was believed to be under the influence and armed with a handgun, made unauthorized entry into his home.\u00a0Feeling his safety was in jeopardy, the homeowner resorted to using his firearm.<\/p>\n<p>The Sheriff&#8217;s Office posted that the homeowner is currently cooperating with the investigation and has provided a full statement regarding his actions during the incident.\u00a0While no charges have been filed against the homeowner as yet, the case remains open.
