{"id":98624,"date":"2023-12-16T06:50:11","date_gmt":"2023-12-16T12:50:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=98624"},"modified":"2023-12-16T06:50:11","modified_gmt":"2023-12-16T12:50:11","slug":"98624","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/milesfortis.com\/?p=98624","title":{"rendered":""},"content":{"rendered":"<p>That wasn&#8217;t a &#8216;mistake&#8217;, it was HAMAS intent to have that happen<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/2023\/12\/15\/news\/idf-mistakenly-kills-three-israeli-hostages-in-gaza\/\">IDF says it accidentally killed three Israeli hostages in Gaza after mistaking them for Hamas terrorists.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/nypost.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/2\/2023\/12\/idf-reports-accidentally-killed-two-73787834.jpg\" alt=\"Following the incident, Israel's ground forces were given new protocols to help identify hostages to avoid more hostage deaths.\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Three Israeli hostages were killed after the Israel Defense Forces mistook them for a \u201cthreat\u201d during crossfire in Gaza Friday, leaving the military expressing \u201cdeep sorrow\u201d for the deaths.<\/p>\n<p>Yotam Haim,\u00a0Samer Talalka and\u00a0Alon Shamriz\u00a0were killed when they were accidentally \u201ctargeted\u201d in Shejaiya and shot dead by the IDF.<\/p>\n<p>It believes the three hostages \u201cfled or were abandoned by the terrorists who held them captive.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Haim and Shamriz were abducted by Hamas on Oct. 7 in Kfar Aza, while Talalka was taken from Nir Am,\u00a0according to the Times of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>Haim, 28, was a heavy metal drummer in the band Persephore. He was taken from his home at the start of the war and his house was set on fire by Hamas fighters.<\/p>\n<p>Talalka, who was in his early 20s, was taken from a hatchery, where he and his father worked. The young man often worked early weekend shifts in the henhouse, according to the outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Shamriz was a 26-year-old computer engineering student whose parents are from Iran, the Times of Israel reported.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><br \/>\nDuring an \u201cinspection\u201d of the area after the shooting, a \u201csuspicion arose regarding the identity of the dead,\u201d according to IDF.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe bodies were taken for examination in Israeli territory, after which it turned out that they were three Israeli abductees,\u201d the force said in a tweet.<\/p>\n<p>They were taken to a \u201cdeer center\u201d in a Shura camp in Israel, where they were identified.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe IDF expresses deep sorrow for the incident and shares in the grief of the families. The IDF will continue to act in all efforts to return the abductees home,\u201d it said.<\/p>\n<p>The area has been a \u201cbattle zone\u201d for several days, including encounters with \u201csuicide bombers\u201d and \u201cattacks in which terrorists tried to lure our forces and draw them into an ambush,\u201d IDF spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari said.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cShortly after the tragic incident, another encounter with terrorists took place near the scene of the incident,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, Israel\u2019s ground forces were given new protocols to help identify hostages to avoid more hostage deaths. It is not yet clear what sort of measures will be taken.<\/p>\n<p>US\u00a0National Security Council spokesman John Kirby called the situation \u201cheartbreaking,\u201d saying the tragedy was a \u201cmistake.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI think the Israelis will certainly take a look at this, and I\u2019m sure they will do the forensics to try to figure out what happened, how this happened. It\u2019s certainly the way we would approach a situation like this, to want to know as many answers as we could,\u201d he said in a statement to The Post.<\/p>\n<p>Israel\u2019s\u00a0Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu also expressed \u201cdeep sorrow\u201d for the hostages, saying he and the people of Israel \u201cmourn the fall of three\u00a0of our dear sons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is an unbearable tragedy. The entire State of Israel mourns this evening. My heart goes out to the grieving families in their difficult time,\u201d he said, according to the Times of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cEven on this difficult evening, we will dress our wounds, learn the necessary lessons and continue with our supreme effort to return all our hostages home safely.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Large crowds gathered outside the IDF headquarters in Tel Aviv Friday night to protest the hostage deaths and to call for the Israeli government to make an action plan to get the captives released, according to the Times of Israel.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTheir time is running out! Bring them home now! There is no victory until every last hostage is released!\u201d\u00a0the crowd chanted.<\/p>\n<p>They held signs and wore shirts that read: \u201cBring them home,\u201d while some had red paint on their hands.<\/p>\n<p>Hostages\u2019 families have grown angry in recent days after reports suggested the government is delaying initiating a hostage deal with Hamas because it believes continued war efforts will bring the terrorist organization down and bring them a deal, the Times of Israel said.<\/p>\n<p>Netanyahu reportedly barred Mossad Chief\u00a0David Barnea from going to Qatar to broker a deal earlier this week.<\/p>\n<p>The deaths come after the US and Israel discussed scaling back the intense combat operations in the war, although both sides agreed the fighting would take several months to defeat Hamas.<\/p>\n<p>Following the incident, Israel\u2019s ground forces were given new protocols to help identify hostages to avoid more hostage deaths.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"nyp-slideshow-modal-image wp-block-image aligncenter size-large pf-caption flex-width blockImage pf-size-full\" data-pf_style_display=\"block\" data-pf_style_visibility=\"visible\">US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan also met with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to discuss the country\u2019s postwar future.<\/p>\n<p>It could include bringing back Palestinian security forces driven from their jobs in Gaza by Hamas in its 2007 takeover, according to a senior US official.<\/p>\n<p>It is unclear how Gaza will be run in a post-war scenario.<\/p>\n<p>Similar conversations are expected to take place when US Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin visits Israel.<\/p>\n<p>President Biden\u2019s administration\u00a0has expressed unease over Israel\u2019s failure to reduce civilian casualties.\u00a0The White House continues to support the war-torn country with weapons shipments and diplomatic backing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI want them to be focused on how to save civilian lives,\u201d Biden said Thursday. \u201cNot stop going after Hamas, but be more careful.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>More than 18,000 Palestinians have died in Gaza since Oct. 7, according to the Hamas-run Health Ministry.
