Land Commissioner Says Biden Stopped Approval of LNG Exports in Retaliation of Texas\u2019 Defiance<\/a><\/p>\n The Texas Land Commissioner is accusing President Joe Biden of deliberately ending the approval of Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) exports.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Dawn Buckingham believes Biden is playing political games with Texas after the state \u201ctook a bold stand in defending our border against foreign invaders.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Stopping the approval of(LNG) exports looks \u201cmore like retaliation than a sound policy decision,\u201d Buckingham said.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n On January 26, Biden announced he was placing a \u201ctemporary pause on pending decisions of Liquified Natural Gas exports.\u201d This was the same day the Department of Homeland Security sent a letter to the State of Texas demanding access to Shelby Park in Eagle Pass, Texas.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n Buckingham called the decision \u201creckless,\u201d saying that it was done in spite rather than of policy decisions.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cI will always defend Texas\u2019 right to energy independence and stand up for the hardworking families and countless Texas schoolchildren this move will harm,\u201d the commissioner said.<\/span><\/p>\n In defense, Biden claimed his decision was aligned\u00a0with his policies to \u201ctackle the climate crisis at home and abroad. While MAGA Republicans willfully deny the urgency of the climate crisis, condemning the American people to a dangerous future, my Administration will not be complacent.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n Texas is the largest exporter of natural gas in the United States and the third-largest in the world.<\/span><\/p>\n <\/p>\n Late last year, Commissioner Buckingham certified an island in the Rio Grande belonging to the State of Texas. This cleared the way for the Texas Military Department and the Department of Public Safety to clear Fronton Island and remove a critical asset from drug and human smuggling cartel operations\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFronton Island, known as the single most dangerous spot on the southern border, is cleared to patrol,\u201d the commissioner said at the time.<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cFor decades, Fronton Island has been utilized by the Mexican Drug Cartels as a refuge when fleeing from rival cartels and the Mexican Military,\u201d Texas DPS spokesman Lieutenant Chris Olivarez told Breitbart Texas. \u201cStill, it has primarily been used to facilitate transnational criminal activity involving human and drug smuggling.\u201d<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n \u201cWith the authorization through Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, the State of Texas has taken over the island by clearing and fortifying it, allowing DPS and the National Guard to gain operational control in preventing cross-border crime,\u201d Olivarez stated. – Breitbart News<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n Texas Gov.
