White House Wants Schools to Gaslight Parents About Guns<\/a><\/p>\n

The White House wants to enlist school officials to help hoodwink parents about its gun control plans, according to a\u00a0statement<\/a>\u00a0issued last week.<\/p>\n

The reason is simple: They want to take advantage of the officials\u2019 credibility, which the White House lacks, especially when it comes to guns.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Teachers and administrators, the White House said in the\u00a0statement<\/a>, \u201ccan be trusted, credible messengers when it comes to providing guidance on gun violence prevention and safe firearm storage options.\u201d<\/p>\n

The new program, which is one of three executive orders Joe Biden issued last week, will be spearheaded by Jill Biden, White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention Director Stefanie Feldman and Education Secretary Miguel Cardona.<\/div>\n<\/div>\n

\u201cThis issue matters to the President. It weighs on his heart every day. And he\u2019s not going to stop fighting until we\u2019ve solved it,\u201d Jill Biden\u00a0said last week<\/a>\u00a0while touting the plan at a \u201cGun Violence Prevention Event,\u201d which was held in the Indian Treaty Room of the Eisenhower Executive Office Building.<\/strong><\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

From a civil rights perspective, the most worrisome portion of the White House plan is a customizable \u201ccommunications template,\u201d which school officials \u201ccan use to engage with parents and families about the importance of safe firearm storage and encourage more people to take preventive action by safely storing firearms.\u201d<\/p>\n

The\u00a0template<\/a>\u00a0is designed so school officials can insert the name of the school and their letterhead to make it appear as though the document came from the school and not the White House. In fact, neither the White House nor the Biden-Harris administration are even mentioned in the document.<\/p>\n
