Bill would require Wisconsin inmates’ stimulus money to go toward restitution.

MADISON (AP) — Republican lawmakers have introduced a bill that would require prisoners to spend their COVID-19 stimulus money on restitution.

Democrats rejected a Republican amendment to the $1.9 trillion stimulus package President Joe Biden signed last week that would have prevented prisoners from receiving stimulus checks.

Wisconsin state Sen. Julian Bradley and Rep. Joe Sanfelippo introduced a bill Monday that would require federal stimulus money received by someone who is incarcerated to go toward any restitution the prisoner owes. Messages left at both Bradley and Sanfelippo’s offices weren’t immediately returned.

A spokeswoman for Democratic Gov. Tony Evers also didn’t immediately respond to a message.

American Outdoor Brands Blows Past Fiscal Q3 Estimates As Sales Jump 91 Percent

American Outdoor Brands hit it out of the park in its fiscal third quarter, nearly doubling its top-line numbers from the prior-year quarter and besting the numbers for its second quarter, which is historically AOUT’s biggest quarter.

Company President and CEO Brian Murphy, a 2016 SGB 40 Under40 Award Honoree, reported on a conference call with analysts that the quarter exceeded its internal expectations for revenues and net income.

“I believe our performance reflects not only the ongoing strength of the outdoor market but, more importantly, the value of our highly authentic brand portfolio, our unique Dock and Unlock strategy, the harvesting of our strong new product pipeline, and the investments we made in our business two to three years ago that are beginning to bear fruit. These elements have long been core to our strategy, and they underlie the great results we’re reporting today,” Murphy offered on the call.

AOUT saw net sales for the fiscal third-quarter increase 91 percent to $82.6 million, compared to $43.3 million in the prior-year third quarter, driven by “favorable consumer trends and a consumer preference for our strong brand portfolio.” Company CFO Andy Fulmer detailed that seven of its 20 brands grew more than 100 percent over the prior-year comp quarter.

Why is Biden releasing thousands of Covid-positive migrants into the country?

The answer to that question may be in his absurd speech on Thursday when he said “we may have to reinstate the lockdown restrictions” if… If what?  What if the migrants the Biden Administration is allowing to come across the southern border without being tested, even if showing symptoms, then given bus tickets to any American city they hope to reach, is a grand plan to spread this flu throughout the country again in order to reinstate all the unconstitutional restrictions to which millions of Americans willingly submitted?  Chances are that the powers that be never dreamed so many people would give up their freedom to work, shop, eat, go to movies, vacation, have their kids in school, etc. without a fuss… but they did.

The carefully calculated, thoroughly propagandistic fearmongering the media has done over the past year in service of the left was embarrassingly effective.  Too many Americans have lost the ability to question authority and have accepted the covid “mandates” as if we are all subjects of a benevolent oligarchy.  Nothing could be further from the truth.  This past year has been about several things:

(1) defeat Trump by any means necessary, no matter how illegal;

(2) use this flu, a variation of Sars-2 to do it;

(4) proscribe any and all existing effective treatments for this flu – HCQ, Ivermectin, for example, both inexpensive and widely available;

(5) make disobeying any of the mandated restrictions a crime; maskless people and those who choose not to be vaccinated, must be rendered outcasts and/or criminals.  That pretty much sums up where we are today.

The left thinks it has won and it seems perhaps they have but as usual they are overstepping.  So jubilant at their bare majority in the House and Senate, they seem to think they’ve achieved power in perpetuity.  They successfully rigged the 2020 election, blatantly, and got away with it.  If they pass their HR-1, the “election reform” bill, they will have cemented vote fraud in stone.  That’s their plan.

Wyoming Announces End To Lockdown, Lifts Mask Mandate

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon announced an end to numerous lockdown measures on Monday, including a state-wide mask mandate.

Gordon, a Republican, said that the mask mandate would be lifted and businesses such as restaurants, movie theaters, bars, and gyms would be allowed to open at full capacity on March 16. Gordon’s announcement follows similar moves made by Texas and Mississippi almost a year after such measures were put in place.

Notably, Gordon is still leaving some pandemic measures in place, such as a mask mandate on all elementary through high schools, according to CNN. Gordon touted the state’s vaccination efforts for his decision to lift regulations.

“I thank the people of Wyoming for their commitment to keeping one another safe throughout this pandemic,” Gordon said in a press release. “It is through their efforts that we have kept our schools and businesses operating and our economy moving forward. I ask all Wyoming citizens to continue to take personal responsibility for their actions and stay diligent as we look ahead to the warmer months and to the safe resumption of our traditional spring and summer activities.”

Gordon urged “Wyomingites to wear face coverings in indoor public spaces and to follow the best practices adopted by any business they visit to slow the spread of the virus.”

Governor Bill Lee (Tennessee) pushes for permit-less gun carry bill ahead of legislative discussion.

A once-sidelined bill is back in the Tennessee legislature again. If passed, anyone over the age of 21 could legally carry a gun without a permit.

A bill could get rid of the state’s gun permit requirements. It’s going before the House and Senate starting Tuesday.

If made into law, anyone over the age of 21 could carry a firearm if they meet the requirements.

Lawmakers first introduced the bill in 2020,  but it was delayed, in part, because of the pandemic……..

Arizona House Passes Bill to End State Enforcement of Federal Gun Control

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Feb. 24, 2021) – Today, the Arizona House passed a bill to ban state and local enforcement of federal gun control; past, present and future. Passage into law would represent an important first step towards bringing those measures to an end within the state.

Rep. Leo Biasiucci (R) introduced House Bill 2111 (HB2111) along with 16 cosponsors on Jan. 24. With an amendment proposed by cosponsor Rep. Bret M. Roberts last week,  the legislation bans the state and all political subdivisions of the state from “using any personnel or financial resources to enforce, administer or cooperate with any act, law, treaty, order, rule or regulation of the United States government that is inconsistent with any law” of the state of Arizona regarding the regulation of firearms.

On Feb. 10, the House Government and Elections Committee passed HB2111 by a vote of 7-6. Five days later, the House Rules Committee passed it with a vote of 5-3. Today, the full House passed the bill with a vote of 31-29.

The legislation is similar to a bill pending consideration in the Texas House and the West Virginia Senate.

Arkansas lawmakers give final OK to ‘Stand Your Ground’ bill

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas lawmakers have sent Gov. Asa Hutchinson legislation that loosens the state’s restrictions on using lethal force in self-defense.

The House on Wednesday voted 72 to 23 for the bill, which removes the state’s duty to retreat before using deadly force.

The Senate approved the measure last month. A similar bill stalled in the Legislature two years ago, but the measure this year has moved more easily after groups that opposed it said they were neutral to the latest version.

The governor has not said whether he supports the legislation.

S.C. Democrats Throw Tantrum as Fetal Heartbeat Bill Passes State House.

The South Carolina House of Representatives yesterday passed “Fetal Heartbeat” legislation, which would significantly reduce abortions in the state.

The bill, S. 1, would require doctors to perform an ultrasound to detect a heartbeat before performing an abortion. If one is detected, doctors would be prohibited from performing an abortion except when the mother was the victim of rape or incest, if the mothers health is in jeopardy or if the fetus has anomalies incompatible with life. However, if a woman asks for an abortion because she was the victim or rape or incest, the doctor is required to report the crime to local law enforcement.

The legislation, supported by S.C. Gov. Henry McMaster (R), had already passed the state Senate by a wide margin on Jan. 28.

Although the bill has overwhelming support and passed by a 79-35 bi-partisan vote, House Democrats staged a series of outbursts to try and slow or stop the vote.

Democratic members of the South Carolina House have walked out of the chamber to protest a bill that would ban nearly all abortions in the state.

The members left the chamber Wednesday minutes before the fetal heartbeat bill was to come up for a vote. Rep. Todd Rutherford said the Democratic Caucus will not join in on the discussion of S.1 today as protest and calls it a “farce.”

If, as expected, Gov. McMaster signs the Fetal Heartbeat Bill into law, it would become one of the most restrictive abortion laws in the nation by banning most abortions after six weeks. The law is expected to face immediate court challenges and would probably find its way to the U.S. Supreme Court.

UPDATE 1:26 p.m.: Gov. McMaster signed the bill this afternoon at the statehouse.

Just to point out; When a convention of the states was called to ‘simply’ fix the problems with the Articles of Confederation, what we wound up with was a whole new system of government.
I’m not saying a new convention is a bad idea, I am saying that if there ever is one, people should be well aware that the result can be something unexpected.

Iowa House Panels Advance Resolutions Calling for Constitutional Convention
Two Iowa House subcommittees advanced resolutions calling for a Convention of the States to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

DES MOINES, Iowa – Two Iowa House subcommittees on Wednesday advanced resolutions calling for an Article V Convention of the States to propose amendments to the U.S. Constitution.

Article V of the U.S. Constitution provides two ways to amend the Constitution; the first is for Congress to pass a constitutional amendment that would, the second is through two-thirds of state legislatures (34 states) petitioning for a convention to propose amendments. Whether by Congress or through a convention process, any amendments passed would require three-fourths of the states to ratify.

So far, 15 states – Alabama, Alaska, Arkansas, Arizona, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Texas, Tennessee, and Utah – have had their state legislatures pass resolutions.

By a 2 to 1 vote, the first subcommittee supported H.J.R. 3, a resolution sponsored by State Rep. John Wills, R-Spirit Lake, proposing an amendment that places limitations on members of Congress.

Oklahoma Governor Nullifies Biden’s Executive Order — With His Own

Charging that Executive Order 13990 issued by President Biden “is in contravention of Article II Section 2 and the 10th Amendment of the United States Constitution,” Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt issued his own executive order this week to, in effect, nullify it.

Governor Stitt is a Republican, elected in 2018. His order is challenging Biden’s order as “adverse to energy producers throughout the United States and Oklahoma. His decision terminates the Keystone XL pipeline and claims to rejoin the Paris Climate Accord while failing to seek ratification by the U.S. Senate.” According to the U.S. Constitution, a presidential agreement with the government of another nation is not law until at least two-thirds of the Senate ratifies it. President Barack Obama placed the United States in the Paris deal without a treaty vote. This was reversed by President Trump, and now President Biden has put the United States back into it.

“These policies [of the Paris Accord] allow the world’s powers to continue CO2 emissions,” Stitt wrote, “causing the U.S. to harm its own economy, threatening millions of jobs in states like Oklahoma, while making no meaningful difference in world’s emissions. Special Envoy for Climate, John Kerry, admitted as much only days ago.”

Gov. Abbott says during keynote that he wants to make Texas a ‘Second Amendment Sanctuary State’
Abbott said he wants to ensure that no government officials can take Texan’s guns

Gov. Noem never shut down South Dakota. Their unemployment rate just dropped to 3.0%. That’s lower than it was before the pandemic.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s response to the pandemic was an eminently American response. So of course the liberal media tried to crucify her for it.

But, as they say, you can’t argue with results.

That’s how it’s done, ladies and gents, in my humble opinion.

We are seeing in living color the myriad terrible consequences of draconian lockdown orders. They may not be as easily quantifiable on a chart or graph, but we see them in our neighborhoods and schools and churches every day. People’s lives have been turned upside down and, in many cases, destroyed — not by a virus, but by state governments with authoritarian strategies.

Noem’s strategy, on the other hand, can, I think, can be summed up nicely in this one paragraph from an op-ed she wrote for the Wall Street Journal in December:

Rather than following the pack and mandating harsh rules, South Dakota provides our residents with information about what is happening on the ground in our state—the science, facts and data. Then, we ask all South Dakotans to take personal responsibility for their health, the health of their loved ones, and—in turn—the health of our communities. The state hasn’t issued lockdowns or mask mandates. We haven’t shut down businesses or closed churches. In fact, our state has never even defined what an “essential business” is. That isn’t the government’s role.

Provide free people accurate information and then trust free people to make their own decisions based on their own unique circumstances?

83 House Members Reject Democrat Plan to Prevent Lawmakers From Carrying Firearms on Capitol Hill

More than 80 members of the House of Representatives are taking a stand against a Democrat plan to end lawmakers’ eligibility to carry firearms on the grounds of Capitol Hill under current regulations.

The effort is being lead by Representative Lauren Boebert (R-CO) who says she refuses to give up her ability to carry a firearm while spending time in the crime ridden District of Columbia.

“I refuse to give up my Second Amendment rights,” Boebert said in a statement, adding:

Financial Discrimination Continues Against the Gun Industry

recent proposal by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC), an independent bureau within the U.S. Department of the Treasury, would work to ensure fair treatment in lending and access to other financial services for American businesses. This is of particular importance to the Second Amendment, as manufacturers, companies and retailers in the shooting sports industries have and still are experiencing discrimination in getting these services from financial institutions.

Apparently, some of these financial institutions don’t like the work these businesses are engaged in, even though the work is legitimate and legal.

The OCC rule would “ensure fair access to banking services provided by national banks, federal savings associations and federal branches and agencies of foreign bank organizations. The proposal would codify more than a decade of OCC guidance stating that banks should provide access to services, capital, and credit based on the risk assessment of individual customers, rather than broad-based decisions affecting whole categories or classes of customers.”
