Why Don’t They Believe Us?

You’re struggling to understand where all this vaccine hesitancy comes from. Let me help you.

Imagine you’re a normal person. The year is 2016. Rightly or wrongly, you believe most of what you see in the media. You believe polls are broadly reflective of public opinion. You believe doctors and scientists are trustworthy and independent. You’re a decent, reasonable person who follows the rules and trusts the authorities.

Imagine your shock, then, when Brexit, which you were assured couldn’t happen because it was a fringe movement led by racists for racists, happens. The polls, which widely predicted it wouldn’t happen, were wrong. The experts and pundits who told you day after day that it wouldn’t happen were also wrong. “Oh well,” you say, “these things happen.”

Imagine that soon after Brexit, Donald Trump is running for president. You are told by the most trustworthy media outlets that he is going to lose. Some experts say his opponent has a 99% chance of winning. Imagine waking up the morning after the election to discover that the pollsters, experts, and politicians you still trusted were wrong again. Now the racist monster who you were told would never get near the White House is the leader of the free world.

“How did this happen?” you ask yourself. How could everyone I rely on for good information be so wrong? “It was the Russians,” they tell you. “The Russians did Brexit, and they got Trump elected too.” Imagine that for the next three years, day after day, the media and politicians you still trust keep you up to date on this story of Trump’s collusion with Russia. They tell you the how, when, where, and why: the dossiers, the whistleblowers, the peeing prostitutes. Imagine your desperation for things to somehow make sense again.

Here comes the Mueller report. Hard evidence of foreign meddling in Brexit and the 2016 U.S. election is coming to set the world right again.

Imagine your shock, then, when you discover that Brexit had little to do with foreign meddling, and Robert Mueller has very little to report about Trump and the Russians. The collusion story, which dominated your news intake for the better part of three years, slowly dies down. Then it’s gone. No one talks about it anymore. Imagine that bit by bit, you’re starting to feel that the events you were told would not and could not happen not only happened, but happened without some sort of malign interference. Instead, millions of your fellow citizens simply voted for them. In the American case, it turns out many of your fellow citizens who simply voted for Trump come from states that have been devastated by an opioid epidemic enabled by a corrupt system of incentives involving the Food and Drug Administration, doctors, and Big Pharma. (You might want to take note of this. It will come up again later.)

Again, you ask, “How could this happen?” And again, the media outlets and political representatives you’ve always trusted have the answer: racism.

“Your country is racist,” they tell you. If you’re white, this may seem strange to you. Other than a handful of idiots, you’ve never met a racist. If you’re an ethnic minority immigrant like me, this seems even stranger. Why would people in one of the most welcoming, tolerant countries in the world want to convince themselves their country is racist when it’s so obviously not?

But the evidence is right there on your TV screen. Imagine your horror as a famous and beloved gay African American actor is assaulted by MAGA hat-wearing thugs who racially abuse him and put a noose around his neck. In a prime-time interview, he cries while talking about it.

Imagine your outrage as you see news reports of a bunch of MAGA hat-wearing kids from a religious school contemptuously confront a Native American elder. Professional, adult commentators on TV tell you the kid has a “punchable face,” and while you abhor violence, it’s hard to disagree. Imagine that for days you watch coverage of these events, with expert after expert, pundit after pundit, sharing and fueling your outrage. Maybe your country really is racist. Maybe you’re racist. Were you always just blind?

Imagine that soon after, however, the Jussie Smollett story turns out to be an attention-seeking hoax: He made it all up. Imagine you also quickly discover that the Native American elder was the one who confronted the kids, and not the other way around. “If this is such a racist country,” you ask yourself, “why would they need to make up stories of racism?” As you ponder this, you remember that for years now, you’ve been expected to go along with other, more elaborate make-believe stories.

The Co-Founder Of The Fact-Checking Site Snopes Was Writing Plagiarized Articles Under A Fake Name
“You can always take an existing article and rewrite it just enough to avoid copyright infringement.”

David Mikkelson, the co-founder of the fact-checking website Snopes, has long presented himself as the arbiter of truth online, a bulwark in the fight against rumors and fake news. But he has been lying to the site’s tens of millions of readers: A BuzzFeed News investigation has found that between 2015 and 2019, Mikkelson wrote and published dozens of articles containing material plagiarized from news outlets such as the Guardian and the LA Times…………..

Founded in 1995 by Mikkelson and his then-wife, Barbara Hamel, Snopes bills itself as “the internet’s definitive fact-checking site,” and is a two-time Webby Award winner cited by the likes of the New York Times and the Washington Post. It served as one of Facebook’s fact-checking partners between December 2016 and February 2019. But in recent years, the site has been troubled by a bitter ownership dispute.

Mikkelson’s alias flies in the face of the site’s mission, once described by the New York Times as “a quest to debunk misinformation online.”

If American Guns Are Responsible For Mexico, Why Isn’t US As Bad?

The nation of Mexico isn’t a good place to be. My advice to most people is to stay the hell out of the country. It’s always had issues, of course, but over the last little while, it’s gotten really bad. I generally say it’s damn near a failed state. That’s because, well, it is.

However, what bothers me more often than anything is how everyone wants to make it out like this is the United States’ fault.

Take this story from Slate:

Even as Republican members of Congress accuse Joe Biden of failing to secure the nation’s southern border, Mexico is facing a growing problem of securing its northern border. Guns from America are pouring into Mexico, arming violent drug gangs.

Mexico has tried just about everything to stop the flow of firearms from the north – passing strict gun control laws, imposing stiff penalties on traffickers, and pleading with U.S. authorities to stop the trafficking – but nothing has worked. So now it’s doing what any litigious American would do: it’s suing.

Mexico announced Wednesday it’s seeking at least $10 billion in compensation from America’s 11 major gun manufacturers for the havoc the guns have wrought south of the border. It alleges America’s gunmakers know their products are being trafficked to Mexico and are expressly marketing their weapons to Mexican criminal gangs – designing guns to be “easily modified to fire automatically” and be “readily transferable on the criminal market in Mexico.”

The deluge of firearms from the United States to Mexico – on average, more than 500 every day – is contributing to mayhem there. Killings have become a routine part of the Mexican drug trade. In Mexico’s recent midterm election campaign, 30 candidates were gunned down by criminal gangs. In 2019 alone, at least 17,000 homicides in Mexico were linked to trafficked weapons.

Yet Mexico’s lawsuit is likely to face tough going in the United States, where the easy accessibility of guns is also wreaking havoc but where gun ownership is considered a constitutional right and gun purchases are skyrocketing.

See, the problem I have with this claim is that if American guns are the problem, then why isn’t the United States having more of a violence issue?

Now, I get that homicides are skyrocketing and all that, yet far more than 500 guns a day are hitting the market. We’re looking at tens of thousands of new guns on American streets every day.

And yet, our violence rate is a fraction of what Mexico sees, per capita. Our police can go where they wish and arrest whoever they want. Journalists can report on whatever they desire without their car exploding on them. Our government has some degree of control over every scrap of territory the US possesses.

We’re not even close to what Mexico is, so my question is why? If American guns are the problem, then why isn’t the United States in far, far worse shape?

The answer, of course, is that it’s not the guns.

Those weapons cross the border not because it amuses someone to smuggle guns. No, they cross because there’s a demand down there. There’s a demand because the Mexican government dropped the ball and screwed up by the numbers and are now looking for someone else to blame.

If this sounds familiar, that’s because it is.

Mexico is deploying the Lightfoot defense, only they’re blaming the United States as a whole rather than just states like Indiana. There’s really no difference, only it’s dumber with Mexico. After all, it’s legal to travel with guns in the US, making efforts to combat trafficking a bit tougher. It’s illegal to cross national borders like that with guns.

Maybe if Mexico cleaned up their crap, they wouldn’t have the issues regardless of how many guns are in the country. They need to look at their own house to find the issues and stop blaming us for them.

BLUF:
The bottom line is that while Brady’s effort with the Mexican government provides an excuse for agenda-driven officials and media outlets to pontificate and deflect, it will provide no relief to those suffering from crime and violence in America’s neighbor to the south. It is therefore not only frivolous, but deeply cynical as well.

Gun Controllers Collaborate with Unscrupulous Foreign Regime to Undermine U.S. Constitution

Anyone tempted to think the gun control lobby couldn’t sink any further into disreputable tactics should sit down before reading any further.

Last week, Brady – one of the older, gun prohibition advocacy groups in the U.S. – teamed up with the government of Mexico to launch an assault against the American firearms manufacturing and distribution industry.

The move came in the form of a lawsuit that seeks to hold lawful and federally licensed companies in these industries responsible for the crimes of violent Mexican gangs and drug cartels, to the tune of $10 billion, according to media reports.

Not only that, the suit argues that the U.S. federal court in which it was filed should ignore both United States law and the Second Amendment and instead rule against the defendants under the laws of Mexico.

This breathtakingly audacious move shows not just the desperation of the gun control lobby to advance their anti-freedom agenda by any means necessary, it underscores their contempt for the uniquely American freedoms that set our country apart from the rest of the world. That Brady would ally itself with a foreign government that has become virtually synonymous with corruption proves just how detached the gun control movement has become from the values and traditions that define America.

You-Gotta-Be Kidding-Me Mailbag: Revelation 18:23. “for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy pharmaceuticals were all nations deceived…” edition

Wow. I MEAN. It’s almost like the Holy Bible in modern English is inadequate or something….

The “thy” is “the world’s”, not God’s. Hence the lower-case.

Ann,

Something I’ve known for awhile but never understood how that it would happen: Enter the rona scam and death jab. Sorcery. Look it up in Rev: chapter 18 v 23. Sorcery from the Greek is literally where we get the word for pharmacy. Medicine. Also used as magic.

That verse also speaks of the “great men of the earth” being “merchants”. The super rich elites. Gates, Soros, Fraudci, etc.

Revelation 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.

Greek: φαρμακεία

Transliteration: pharmakeia

Pronunciation: far-mak-i’-ah

Definition: From [ Strong’s Greek Lexicon . ed]  G5332; medication (pharmacy) that is (by extension) magic (literal or figurative): – sorcery witchcraft.

KJV Usage: sorcery (2x), witchcraft (1x).

Occurrences in Bible: 3

Occurrences in verses: 3

Yes I know it’s a King James Version I’m using but it’s all I know at the moment. God keep you around with us for LONG time please.

St. Jerome’s Latin Vulgate translated in the Douay-Rheims:

And the light of the lamp shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth, for all nations have been deceived by thy enchantments.

et lux lucernae non lucebit in te amplius : et vox sponsi et sponsae non audietur adhuc in te : quia mercatores tui erant principes terrae, quia in veneficiis tuis erraverunt omnes gentes.

D’oh!!!!

Why Biden’s New Eviction Moratorium Should Worry Gun Owners

For weeks now, Joe Biden has been saying that any extension to the moratorium on evictions originally put in place by the Centers for Disease Control was going to have to come from Congress. Heck, the Supreme Court told the Biden administration that was the case. And for weeks, Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer ignored the impending demise of the eviction moratorium, choosing to focus instead on infrastructure and trying to vilify the GOP for their refusal to go along with a sweeping elections bill that’s stuck in the Senate.

That lack of urgency on the part of congressional Democrats led to the moratorium expiring, which in turn led to Joe Biden deciding on Tuesday to go ahead with allowing the CDC to issue a new, slightly different moratorium despite having been told that it’s unconstitutional. As Charles Cook writes at National Review:

President Biden knows that the CDC’s eviction moratorium is illegal, having, per Gene Sperling, “not only kicked the tires,” but “double, triple, quadruple checked.” He also knows that the Supreme Court has ruled that it is illegal, and that the majority of the legal scholars he has consulted think that the Court is correct.

And yet, because a bunch of progressives have spent the day complaining, Biden announced just now that he intends to violate his oath and reissue the order anyway. “The bulk of the constitutional scholars,” Biden admitted at his press conference just now, “say it’s not likely to pass constitutional muster.” Then he said that he was prepared to try his luck anyway.

Biden admitted that the Supreme Court is likely going to strike down this order, but it will take some time for the court system to catch up with the executive branch actions. In other words, he’s willing to ignore the Constitution in favor of the possibility of short-term political gain. And if Biden’s willing to do that when it comes to the issue of evictions, why wouldn’t he embrace that same strategy when it comes to our Second Amendment rights?

The administration is already stretching the limits of executive authority with a pair of proposed rules from the ATF that would impose backdoor bans on homemade firearms and AR-style pistols with braces, but Biden’s latest move on evictions is evidence that the White House could try to implement even more of the president’s anti-gun agenda by trying to go around the legislative branch.

This new moratorium isn’t a “law,” but that seems to be a distinction without a difference to many reporters… not to mention the administration itself. I’m no Constitutional scholar, but I do remember my Schoolhouse Rock, and laws start as bills in the legislative branch before becoming law once a president has put pen to paper. There’s no bill involved in this eviction moratorium, and Biden himself has left it up to CDC to impose these new restrictions on landlords, complete with criminal penalties.

Now imagine a scenario a few months into the future, when ATF Director David Chipman decides that, thanks to the ATF’s newly expanded definitions of “frame”, “receiver”, and “readily convertible,” the agency has the power to declare that modern sporting rifles are readily converted to fully-automatic machine guns and should therefore be regulated under the National Firearms Act.

If that sounds crazy, keep in mind that gun control groups are already laying the groundwork for that power grab with several recent lawsuits filed in California.

Brady alleges that Smith & Wesson “knowingly violated” federal law regarding sales of machine guns to the general public, even though the gun that was used by the attacker was a semi-automatic firearm. Brady’s making the claim that Smith & Wesson knowingly manufactured a gun that could be “readily converted” to fully-automatic fire in violation of the National Firearms Act (the gun used in the Poway shooting wasn’t modified to shoot full-auto, but that’s of no importance to Brady’s argument).

We also know that Chipman himself has said that AR-15s should be treated like machine guns, and Biden’s own gun ban plan calls for AR-15s to be turned in or registered under the NFA. There’s no chance that Biden’s ban is going to pass through the Senate (at least with the filibuster in place), but as long as the administration is willing to play fast and loose with the Constitution they could try to impose that ban through the executive branch’s rule-making authority.

I’d like to believe that if the administration was bold enough to try this scheme, the courts would quickly shut down their plans, but there’s no guarantee of that happening. And now that Biden himself has demonstrated that pandering to the Democratic base is more important than safeguarding the Constitution, I’d say the odds of his administration trying at some point to put his gun ban into effect without a vote in Congress just went up considerably.

President Biden Announces on Live TV That He Intends to Break His Oath of Office

Big day for the “norms” crowd.

NY Times Op-Ed Reveals Endgame of Border Crisis: Let Illegals Vote

In a little over six months, the Biden administration has allowed hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants to flow across America’s southern border. Many conservatives have suggested that this is nothing more than a cynical attempt to change America’s electorate by creating more Democrat voters.

A writer for the New York Times just seemed to confirm that this was the endgame all along.

Liberal journalist: There is ‘no good reason’ only citizens can vote

A guest columnist for the New York Times argued this week that “there is no good reason you should have to be a citizen to vote.”

According to the Times, the essay is “part of a series exploring bold ideas to revitalize and renew the American experiment.”

Atossa Araxia Abrahamian, a New York-based progressive journalist and former senior editor of the Nation, claimed in an opinion piece Wednesday that “it’s time for Democrats to radically expand the electorate.”

How? First by granting permanent legal residents the right to vote. Why? Because, according to Abrahamian, they contribute as much to the country as any natural-born citizen.

“Nearly 15 million people living legally in the United States, most of whom contribute as much as any natural-born American to this country’s civic, cultural and economic life, don’t have a say in matters of politics and policy because we — resident foreign nationals, or ‘aliens’ as we are sometimes called — cannot vote,” Abrahamian wrote.

Talk about saying the quiet part out loud.

Carmine Sabia of the Conservative Brief has more:

It sounds like a good faith argument from someone who just wants the right to vote in a nation where he resides and pays taxes.

But then you have to read just one paragraph farther to comprehend what it is that Abrahamian actually wants.

“Considering the Supreme Court’s recent decision undermining voting rights, and Republicans’ efforts to suppress, redistrict and manipulate their way to electoral security, it’s time for Democrats to radically expand the electorate. Proposing federal legislation to give millions of young people and essential workers a clear road to citizenship is a good start. But there’s another measure that lawmakers both in Washington and state capitals should put in place: lifting voting restrictions on legal residents who aren’t citizens — people with green cards, people here on work visas, and those who arrived in the country as children and are still waiting for permanent papers,” the writer said.

And there it is.

Make no mistake. There are Democrats in Washington who agree with this.

Keep this in mind the next time someone on the left claims that the idea of replacing the American electorate is a conspiracy theory.

Disband the FBI

    • In the past few days alone, we have learned that the October 2020 Michigan governor kidnap plot was largely a creation of the FBI; a “senior FBI official” was on the take from media organizations; and another assistant director was in a “romantic relationship with a subordinate” and involved in “other misconduct.” The leadership failures documented by the Office of the Inspector General are now almost standard and part of a tiresome media drip-torture for the public to endure.
    • The FBI ran a coup against President Trump. It failed. The following got away: Comey, McCabe, Strzok, Page, Clinesmith, Pientka, Brower, Baker, et al. Any real consequences for attempting to overthrow the government of the United States? No.
    • Questions are now being raised as to whether the FBI had a role in the Capitol Hill protests of January 6, 2021. When one examines the FBI’s involvement in the Trump-Russia collusion hoax; Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) abuses; standing by idly while in possession of Hunter Biden’s Ukraine and Burisma-laden laptops, while President Trump endured a second phony impeachment; and the frame-up of Trump’s National Security Advisor, Lieutenant General Michael Flynn – it is not too difficult to imagine.
    • The FBI needs to go away. It should happen in an orderly and thoughtful process, over a period of months. Congress should authorize and create an investigative division in the U.S. Marshals Service and open applications for law enforcement officer seeking to be rigorously screened, vetted and then accessed into the new organization. Similar action was taken before in the very creation of the FBI. It is now time to clean house and restore the public’s trust in the “premier investigative agency” of federal law enforcement.

The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) continues its downward spiral into terminal corruption. Sadly, the scandals, criminality and ethical abuses of the organization are largely ignored by the American public and by the institutions of government charged with oversight and correction. Outrage after outrage is reported, hearings are held, Inspector General reports are issued — but the systemic corruption is never really tackled and dirty cops skate away virtually unscathed.

This situation is constitutionally unacceptable, corrosive to public trust in law enforcement, and a threat to the survival of the republic.

FBI Attempts to Do Damage Control After Initiating Whitmer Kidnapping Plot

The FBI is attempting to do damage control after it was revealed the law enforcement bureau initiated and carried out a significant portion of the kidnapping plot against Democrat Governor Gretchen Whitmer last year.

“Partnerships are key to disrupting violent plots. With the terror threat growing more insular, awareness and reporting are crucial,” the FBI posted on a their website this week. “This is especially true for domestic terrorism—defined as violent, criminal acts committed by individuals or groups to further ideological goals stemming from domestic influences, such as those of a political, religious, social, racial, or environmental nature. Because the FBI’s mission includes protecting the free speech rights of Americans, we need a clear reason to act or investigate. A person’s beliefs can never be the sole reason to open an investigation.”

FBI Director Christopher Wray is also weighing in and attempting to reassure Americans the FBI respects their rights.

“The FBI holds sacred the rights of individuals to peacefully exercise their First Amendment freedoms,” he said.

The FBI’s heavy involvement in the plot raises serious questions about how the agency conducts operations, for what purpose and to what extent agents were involved in the January 6 breach of the U.S. Capitol.

BLUF:
Conclusion. The trend is ever more evidence and revelations of election fraud in 2020. This is bad news for the Democrat Party and greatly strengthens Republican efforts to pass new election integrity laws in states around the country. And that trend also explains the increasing desperation of the Democrat-media complex to stonewall, obfuscate, lie, and attempt to explain it all away. Not going to work, as more Americans are getting red-pilled every day! Keep up the pressure on all of your elected representatives because it is having a positive effect.

A.U.D.I.T. of Elections: Grassroots Pressure Begins to Pay Off

A.U.D.I.T.: About Undermining Democrat-Implemented Theft (of elections)

Despite the near-blackout from the legacy media, the saga of the 2020 election continues – and it ain’t what the Democrats are bleating endlessly (“the most secure election EVAH!”). Every day there are new revelations that explode their myth that all claims of election fraud are “baseless.” And actions by some legislators in various states are inching in the right direction, thanks to relentless grassroots pressure.

I have to admit that “baseless” is just the latest in a long line of Democrat-spun words that triggers me! Because they are lying out their a$$e$. I don’t care what Rachel Maddow and the other fools at MSNBC (and a lot of others in the media) nervously bleat daily in trying to spin the reality of what happened last year. They are paid to spout the Democrat line and are liars. It’s a simple as that. And as Rasmussen polling reported on 20 July, even 37% of Democrats – 61% of all Americans – support investigating and fixing election integrity issues. Would the numbers be that high if people were confident that last year’s election was “the most secure ever”?

Facebook Flags the Name of a Gardening Tool When Used in a Gardening Group

The Biden White House leans on Facebook to censor your speech online if what you say goes against what the Biden White House wants you to say.

This is not a conspiracy theory. It’s a fact. Let’s see how well Facebook handles the very sensitive topic of policing even non-political speech in a nation that’s built on the principle that speech must be free, and where people have wide varieties of interests that may fall outside Silicon Valley’s collective experiences.

Facebook flagged the word hoe in a gardening group.

Oh. No. They censored “hoe.”

Wait ’til they figure out what people do with certain emojis…

A group called WNY Gardeners has been repeatedly flagged by the social network for “violating community standards,” when its more than 7,500 members discussed the long-handled bladed implement, which is spelled with an “e,” unlike the offensive term.

When one member commented “Push pull hoe!” on a post about preferred weeding tools, Facebook sent a notification that read, “We reviewed this comment and found it goes against our standards for harassment and bullying,” a moderator said.

This is funny and would be a lot funnier if the Biden White House hadn’t deputized Facebook to chase you and me around on its platform if we post something the regime doesn’t like. But it has.

Dumb White House plus dumb censors = a major problem.

Yesterday I tried to share a graphic on Facebook that said factually true things that are not in dispute. Facebook gave me a little warning as I was posting, as if to flash a yellow light, warning me to slow down and think about whether I really want to speak against the regime.

I posted it anyway and headlined it noting that Facebook tried to slow it down. I am both an American and a Texan.

Back to the hoe scandal. Facebook said it would put more humans on the task, supposedly to avoid censoring hoes and the like. That’s not a comfort to any thinking individual.

The extra set of eyes did not prevent a subsequent post in the group from being automatically disabled because of “possible violence, incitement, or hate in multiple comments,” Licata said.

“Kill them all. Drown them in soapy water,” and “Japanese beetles are jerks,” were some comments Facebook deemed offensive, according to the moderator.

(Eyeroll.)

Japanese beetles are jerks.

Japanese beetles are a serious pest of flowers, trees and shrubs, fruits and vegetables, field crops and turf.

That’s not me talking. That’s the University of Minnesota. Whoever wrote that will be hauled in for sensitivity training any minute now.

We live in a time in which some dopey scientist out there wants us all to mind the feelings of sharks, and the stupid mainstream media doesn’t laugh him straight off the nearest pier.

Deceitful, corrupt, bureaucraps…but I repeat myself

It Sure Looks Like the FBI Basically Orchestrated the Gretchen Whitmer ‘Kidnapping’ Plot.

In news that’s flying below the radar a bit, more evidence of just how corrupt and compromised the FBI has become emerged today.

You may recall the much-ballyhooed plot to supposedly kidnap Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer last year. Arrests were made in October of 2020, with the claim being that the FBI had stopped the kidnapping plot as well as a plan to overthrow the government. After it came out in the weeks following the bust that one of the participants was anti-Trump and a Black Lives Matter supporter, the story quickly died down.

All of this was intertwined at the time with the politics of Whitmer’s controversial COVID policies. Earlier in the same year, there had been demonstrations at the state’s capital that drew lots of press attention and condemnation. The insinuation pushed by the media was that those demonstrations had provoked the kidnapping plot.

But now, a big curveball is being thrown into the mix regarding what actually happened. Apparently, the FBI didn’t just have informants within the group where the arrests were made. Rather, FBI operatives played a key role in the planning of the entire ordeal and were also seemingly instrumental in birthing the plot.

Would there have been a Whitmer kidnapping plot without the FBI taking such an active role and egging people on to join in? That’s a question that’s tough to answer without more information, but it certainly shows a level of questionable behavior on the part of the FBI, with agents and superiors going much further than just gathering evidence. As to whether this qualifies as entrapment, I recognize that’s a complicated legal question and won’t attempt to opine on the matter, but man, does this entire thing feel dirty.

Deadlier than the disease

The Panic Pandemic
Fearmongering from journalists, scientists, and politicians did more harm than the virus.

The United States suffered through two lethal waves of contagion in the past year and a half. The first was a viral pandemic that killed about one in 500 Americans—typically, a person over 75 suffering from other serious conditions. The second, and far more catastrophic, was a moral panic that swept the nation’s guiding institutions.

Instead of keeping calm and carrying on, the American elite flouted the norms of governance, journalism, academic freedom—and, worst of all, science. They misled the public about the origins of the virus and the true risk that it posed. Ignoring their own carefully prepared plans for a pandemic, they claimed unprecedented powers to impose untested strategies, with terrible collateral damage. As evidence of their mistakes mounted, they stifled debate by vilifying dissenters, censoring criticism, and suppressing scientific research.

If, as seems increasingly plausible, the coronavirus that causes Covid-19 leaked out of a laboratory in Wuhan, it is the costliest blunder ever committed by scientists. Whatever the pandemic’s origin, the response to it is the worst mistake in the history of the public-health profession. We still have no convincing evidence that the lockdowns saved lives, but lots of evidence that they have already cost lives and will prove deadlier in the long run than the virus itself.

FBI Says Narc On Your Loved Ones to Battle ‘Homegrown Violent Extremism.’

FBI Goes Full Soviet

As I wrote in my Morning Briefing last Friday, the federal government has gotten even creepier ever since Joe Biden was installed as acting president. There’s a lust for federal control on the Left that’s grown immeasurably, especially since January 20, 2021. It had been getting out of hand all during the pandemic last year. We’ve witnessed the uncomfortable spectacle of almost half the country willingly ceding their freedoms and celebrating government control of their lives.

Somebody should tell them they live in the United States of America.

Kidding. It’s getting more difficult by the day to recognize our beloved country. For example, here is a little something from the FBI’s Twitter account:

Those graphics look like they were done in a Soviet propaganda shop in 1975.

I’ve repeatedly said that Donald Trump’s greatest failure as president was not purging the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s leftist loons. The organization tasked with domestic security is allowing its priorities to be established by a woke leftist narrative that completely ignores the real threats to the homeland.

The document that this tweet links to was written in 2019 and goes all-in on the leftist lie about the biggest threat to America being a handful of drunk whackos here at home. That lie is the cornerstone of an ambitious attempt to portray every white American who votes Republican as a ticking time bomb who is always on the verge of committing violence. Democrats can’t make a logical case for any of their insane policies so they continually resort to demonizing anyone who disagrees with them. It’s all they’ve got.

Penn president set for high-profile ambassador gig after paying Biden $900K for vaguely defined professor post

The president of the University of Pennsylvania is poised to become U.S. Ambassador to Germany after paying then-Vice President Joe Biden $900,000 for a job at the Ivy League school that required no regular classes and up to 12 appearances on campus.

Penn President Amy Gutmann will likely be announced as Biden’s pick for the prime ambassadorship, raising questions about whether the slot is payback for the lucrative position Biden held at Penn after leaving the vice president’s office in 2017, according to news reports.

Upon accepting the offer, Biden became the Benjamin Franklin Presidential Practice Professor, the first person to hold the position.

Biden collected $371,159 in 2017 and $540,484 in 2018 and early 2019 for a job with largely undefined duties. The agreement also required around a dozen appearances on campus, most of which were attended by wealthy donors paying top-dollar for tickets.

Biden left his position at the school in April 2019 to run for president.

Biden’s lucrative job came at the same time Democrats continued a national push to “cancel” student loans, arguing the cost of college had gotten out of hand and students were saddled with enormous debt. In 2012, Biden himself blamed professor salaries, in part, for driving the “skyrocketing” cost of college.

Because USA Today is nothing more than another political hack publication?

Why Are Michael Bloomberg’s Anti-Gun ‘Journalists’ Writing for USA TODAY?

Earlier this month, I wrote a story that showed how USA Today had partnered with Bloomberg’s anti-gun propaganda factory, The Trace, for an investigative series – a collaboration which violated more than a few of the Gannett-owned newspaper’s ethical principles.

Now, it appears that the relationship between Bloomberg’s anti-gun activists and USA TODAY has grown even more cuddly. The Trace activists – I cannot call them reporters – are writing “news” stories directly for the paper, as if they’re on the staff.

To be clear, anti-gun advocates whose stated goal is further restricting your constitutional rights are writing biased stories for one of the country’s largest newspapers, and no one at the paper seems to care.

The Trace, as you’ll recall, describes itself as the “only newsroom dedicated to reporting on gun violence.” It has slick digital packages that are chockfull of stories, photos and videos, so it’s easy to confuse the Trace with an actual news website. But a news website it is not.

The Trace was founded in 2015 by former New York City mayor and staunch gun-control advocate, Michael Bloomberg. It operates as the propaganda arm for Bloomberg’s other anti-gun groups, which include Everytown for Gun Safety and Moms Demand Action, which Bloomberg also bankrolls.

The Trace advocates for more restrictive gun laws, but their message is a lot slicker than the handmade signs carried by Demanding Moms and Everytown employees. Reporters at the Trace are activists, not news reporters. They advocate for more gun control. That’s their job.

Last week, USA TODAY published a story titled: “The ATF’s failure to produce public records keeps the gun industry in the shadows.”

It was written by Daniel Nass, the Trace’s associate editor for data and graphics, and Alain Stephens, the Trace’s West Coast Correspondent. Stephens, you should know, describes himself as a veteran and a gun owner. There is no editor’s note explaining why the newspaper allowed a couple of professional anti-gun activists to write the story, rather than its own staff reporters.

This should tell you all you need to know about the newspaper, its leadership and their complete disdain for the truth, transparency, and of course the Second Amendment.

I spent 20 years as a newspaperman – both as an investigative reporter and an editor. It used to be difficult for an activist group just to get a letter to the editor or a guest column published on the opinion page. Now, USA TODAY allows activists to write their own stories, which it then publishes as if they’re legitimate news. For any activist group, this is like winning the trifecta.

This is unprecedented, even for Gannett.

The newspaper’s ethical principle concerning maintaining independence states: “We will maintain an impartial, arm’s length relationship with anyone seeking to influence the news,” and “We will be free of improper obligations to news sources, newsmakers and advertisers.”

How can the paper maintain an impartial and arm’s length relationship with anyone seeking to influence the news – as activists tend to do – if they allow the activists to write their own stories? How can USA TODAY be free of improper obligations if it allows advocates to write whatever they want?

Gannett’s editing skeptically principle requires editors to “protect against being manipulated by advocates and special interests.” The Trace staffers are definitely advocates, and it’s a special interest group, after all. How is this skeptical editing? How are the editors not being manipulated by advocates?

As I have said before on numerous occasions, when it comes to guns, the media could care less about ethics, accuracy or fairness.

Once again, I sent an email to Maribel Perez Wadsworth, president and publisher of USA TODAY, seeking comment for this story. I have yet to receive a reply.

That, too, is not a surprise.

Senator McConnell was prescient when he held up the nomination of such a political hack as Garland to the Supreme Court.

Merrick Garland Good and Fully Jumps the Shark With Admission on DOJ Targeting Red States

The DOJ is completely compromised by partisanship at this point. That was the conclusion drawn by multiple RedState writers yesterday, who opined about AG Merrick Garland’s announced lawsuit against Georgia for their recent election reform law.

The lawsuit itself reads like it was written by a Harvard diversity studies professor. It makes all sorts of unsubstantiated claims, while presuming that things like the racial makeup of those who voted for the law somehow play into its legality. I’m not a lawyer, so perhaps it makes sense to people with more knowledge, but most of what I read seemed like absolutely irrelevant idiocy to make the woke happy, not to actually win a lawsuit.

Yet, it was something Garland said in his announcement that should give everyone pause.

Wait, the DOJ is using reports, most of which were false, from partisan mainstream “news” outlets to decide on which red states to target with lawsuits? That seems a little out of bounds. It also seems completely antithetical to the mission of the DOJ. Shouldn’t they be pursuing lawsuits based on gathered evidence and demonstrated illegality, not what a talking head on CNN says?

Heck, even general claims by the media that Georgia’s law was “voter suppression” are clearly opinion and not actually based in fact. The DOJ apparently bought them hook, line, and sinker, though, as their lawsuit makes wild claims about black people being denied equal ballot access — when that’s clearly not true in regards to Georgia’s reform law or their system in general.

But, this is bigger than this one lawsuit. It’s a window into how partisan the DOJ has truly become. They are looking to be left-wing activists in every high-level move they make, seeking out what will make the woke happy. Whether that’s pushing onerous claims about white supremacy being the country’s biggest threat or pushing the idea of vote suppression when there’s no evidence of that, Garland is demonstrating exactly what he is.

This is nuts. You have a powerful, government bureaucracy with unlimited resources bearing down on states and individuals based on their political persuasion, not the law. This is why so many no longer have faith in our institutions. It’s not because Donald Trump caused distrust. Rather, it’s because Donald Trump was right. From the DOJ to the military, left-wing ideology is driving discourse and actions – and that’s scary stuff.
