Homeowner shoots, kills ‘home invader’ early Sunday morning,

KEIZER, Ore. — A homeowner in Keizer, Oregon shot and killed someone after waking up early Sunday morning to find a “home invader” in his residence, police said.

Keizer Police officers responded at about 2:20 a.m. to reports of someone with a gunshot wound at a home on Mayfield Place North.

The homeowner told police he woke to someone inside his house. He then fired a shot at the person, who was pronounced dead.

Police said they are continuing the investigation, and that the Marion County District Attorney’s Office is also handling the case.

Oklahoma man shoots and kills burglary suspect who entered his condo

An Oklahoma man shot and killed a suspected burglar who broke into his Tulsa home in the early hours of Sunday morning, according to local reports.

The homeowner told police that he opened fire as a man was entering his home at Brandy Chase Condominiums around 2:00 a.m., according to FOX23 News.

The alleged burglar was found dead by police at the bottom of a staircase with a gunshot wound.

The attempted burglary and shooting happened about seven miles south of downtown Tulsa.

Another suspect may have been involved but fled the scene,

Intruder arrested after being shot by homeowner in Charleston County

A homeowner in his 60s shot a man who broke into his Adams Run residence after midnight on Sept. 3.

The suspect, Lawrence Butler Jr., of Adams Run, was immediately taken to a hospital for treatment. Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies booked the 37-year-old man into the county jail later that morning on charges of first-degree burglary and cocaine possession, according to spokesman Andrew Knapp.

Knapp said deputies responded before 3:30 a.m. to Mauss Hill Road to a report of a home invasion and shooting.

Two residents — a man and woman in their 60s — were inside the home when a man broke a glass window in the front door, Knapp said.

As the suspect crawled through the hole inside the home, the homeowner fired a gun in self-defense, hitting the intruder’s left arm, according to an initial investigation by the Sheriff’s Office. Knapp said deputies found Butler lying inside the home near the door suffering a gunshot wound that was not life threatening.

Butler told detectives he was fleeing a nearby party and had consumed drugs and alcohol, Knapp said.

The victims were not hurt, Knapp said. No charges for the homeowner are expected.

Woman shoots man to death after he attacked her and another woman

PASADENA, Texas — A man was shot and killed after outside of a laboratory business in Pasadena after attacking two women and crashing into several cars, according to police.

The incident began just after midnight Wednesday on South Houston Road outside of Univar Solutions laboratory.

Investigators said a man was standing outside of the business when he started yelling at a woman and hitting the side window of her car. The woman was able to eventually get in her car and drove out of the gated parking lot.

According to investigators, that’s when the man got into a car and drove through the closed electric gate of the parking lot, hitting several cars.

Another woman grabbed her handgun and confronted the man before shooting him twice after he attacked her, police said.

The man later died at the hospital and neither woman was injured.

Armed Citizen Stops Man Randomly Shooting People in Detroit; 3 Dead 1 Wounded

It took an armed citizen to stop a man that was randomly shooting people in Detroit that spanned over two hours.

This past Sunday, a 19-year-old man started randomly shooting people. He shot and killed three people, including a 28-year-old and a 43-year-old.

The shooter then shot a 4th person, who was an 80-year-old man walking his dog. A neighbor witnessed the incident, grabbed his gun, and fired back at the suspect.

“He saw my weapon, and he went from predator to prey. He had that look of shock,” said the neighbor. via WXYZ

Another neighbor said he saved the 80-year-old man’s life because had he not shot at the suspect, he would have walked up and shot the victim multiple times like he did his other victims.

The suspect was arrested a few hours later and is currently in custody pending charges.

This senseless act of violence was only stopped due to someone else having a gun to stop the threat. And this is why you should always carry and be prepared to use your gun in self-defense. If only someone were there to stop the threat before this coward could take his first victim.

Stafford Auto Shop Employee Shots Man In Self Defense After Heated Fight

An altercation in Stafford [Virginia] forced an auto shop employee to shoot a man in self defense, police said.

On August 30, at around 11:45 a.m., an officer, who was driving near Tires and Wheels Unlimited on Warrenton Road, saw a man bleeding from his abdomen coming toward her, according to the Stafford County Sheriff’s Office.

Timothy Greenage, 33, told the officer that an employee of the auto shop had shot him, but there was more to the story, officials said.

Law enforcement’s investigation revealed that Greenage threatened the auto shop over the phone because the business supposedly over-charged Greengage’s niece, authorities said.

Once Greenage arrived at the business, a fight ensued and Greenage pushed an employee to the ground before pulling out his own firearm, police said.

The employee shot Greenage in his abdomen, to protect himself, and luckily, no one was hurt when Greenage fired his gun back, officials said.

Due to witness testimonies that Greenage incited the incident, he was charged with reckless handling of a firearm and assault and battery, after he was treated for his injuries, police reported.

Greenage was held at the Rappahannock Regional Jail on a $1000 secured bond.

Suspect Accidentally Shot Accomplice in Uber Carjacking Attempt

A would-be carjacker shot his accomplice as they attempted to steal an Uber driver’s car overnight, police said.

The Uber driver told police that he had gone to pick up a rider at 4400 3rd Street SE. The driver said that when he arrived, he was approached by four people, including one who got into the car. One of the others pointed a gun at the driver and told him to get out of the car. Instead, police said, the driver panicked and drove off, and a suspect fired a shot, accidentally hitting his fellow would-be carjacker.

When officers arrived at the scene, they didn’t find anyone, but the driver later flagged down an officer on patrol in the 4700 block of S. Capitol Street.

Police said the driver’s app confirmed the pickup location, and officers found shell casings at the scene and found a gun.

A man later showed up at a hospital with a gunshot wound. Detectives believe he was part of the carjacking attempt, and he’s been placed under arrest.

The Uber driver was not injured.

And while large portions of the affidavit remain under seal, the country has seen enough to know that is precisely what the Biden administration did to get Trump.

Redacted Mar-A-Lago Affidavit Confirms Biden’s DOJ Fished For A Crime To Pin On Trump.

The search warrant affidavit unsealed on Friday confirms the Department of Justice used a bait-and-switch tactic to justify the FBI’s unprecedented raid on former President Donald Trump’s home. The unredacted portions of the affidavit further expose the Biden administration’s manipulative and tenuous basis for the search and its reliance on inapplicable federal criminal code provisions to justify the targeting of a political enemy.

At noon on Friday, the search warrant affidavit used by the DOJ to obtain a warrant to raid Trump’s Mar-a-Lago home hit the public court docket, albeit with heavy redactions. While sparse, the unredacted portions of the affidavit nonetheless proved significant, especially when read in conjunction with the previously unsealed search warrant and the leaks to the compliant media cartel.

“The government is conducting a criminal investigation concerning the improper removal and storage of classified information in unauthorized spaces, as well as the unlawful concealment or removal of government records,” the affidavit opened, before noting that “the investigation began as a result of a referral the United States National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) sent to the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) on February 9, 2022.”

The affidavit then summarized the background of the NARA referral, explaining that “on February 9, 2022, the Special Agent in Charge of NARA’s Office of Inspector General sent a referral via email to the DOJ.” The referral explained that the NARA’s White House Liaison Division director had reviewed 15 boxes NARA had retrieved from Mar-a-Lago including “newspapers, magazines, printed news articles, photos, miscellaneous print-outs, notes, presidential correspondence, personal and post-presidential records, and ‘a lot of classified records.’” “Of most significant,” the search warrant affidavit explained, was that “highly classified records were unfoldered, intermixed with other records, and otherwise unproperly [sic] identified.”

While the next nearly eight pages of the search warrant affidavit remained redacted, the disclosures that followed exposed the affidavit’s focus on “classified records” as a sham. “On or about May 6, 2021, NARA made a request for the missing PRA records and continued to make requests until approximately late December 2021 when NARA was informed twelve boxes were found and ready for retrieval at the [Mar-a-Lago],” the affidavit continued, with the abbreviation “PRA” previously noted to stand for the Presidential Records Act.

Riverside gunfight leaves would-be burglar dead, resident wounded

A resident fatally shot a suspect who was apparently trying to break into a Riverside apartment early Wednesday, police said.

The incident was reported around 1:40 a.m. in the 5900 block of Sycamore Canyon Boulevard.

The victim alerted police to a burglary in progress, then called back to indicate gunshots had been exchanged.

Responding Riverside police officers found the resident suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. He was taken to a hospital with an injury that was not life-threatening.

As officers searched the area of the apartment complex, they found a car that had crashed into other vehicles and a man inside suffering from a gunshot wound. The man, believed to be one of the suspects involved in the burglary call, was taken to a hospital where he later died.

He was later identified by police as 20-year-old Denzeal Young of Moreno Valley.

Officers continued to search the area with bloodhounds and did not find any other suspects.

They do believe, however, that at least one other person was involved. One neighbor told KTLA he heard the gunshots and the crash and later saw three people get out of the suspect vehicle, two of them running away.

“We don’t believe that the suspects actually made entry, they may have been attempting to get inside and then this exchange of gunfire occurred,” Officer Ryan Railsback said Wednesday. “We don’t know if this is a targeted victim, or if this is just something random.”

Railsback added that the victim is cooperating with authorities during the investigation.

The victim’s girlfriend went to the scene of the shooting Wednesday afternoon to see the damage that was done to the apartment.

“I’m just happy he’s OK,” Jazmine told reporters.

She said she hasn’t had a chance to speak to him because he is still in the hospital. “He’s going to be OK,” Jazmine added.

Masked intruder shot to death breaking into North Side residence

The man broke into the home at 1714 Packers Ave. about 2:30 a.m. and was fatally shot by one of the people inside, Chief Shon Barnes said at a news conference later Friday morning at the scene. A man, woman and girl were in the duplex at the time the masked man broke in, he said, and “shots had been fired.” No one else was hurt.

The body of a man fatally shot after breaking into a home on Madison’s North Side early Friday morning is removed from the scene at 1714 Packers Ave. A man, woman and girl were inside the apartment at the time. They were not injured, but one of them shot the intruder, police said. Police were called from outside the home by the man who had been in the home, and he led them to the dead man, Barnes said.

Multiple weapons were found at the scene, he said, but it wasn’t immediately clear who they belonged to. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the identity of the dead man. Barnes did not release the names or ages of the people in the home at the time the man broke in but said they are cooperating with police. He said the girl is older than a toddler.

“She’s with her mother now and detectives are talking to them to try to figure out why this particular residence was targeted, what issues may have been involved,” Barnes said. Police had no information yet on whether there would be charges in the case.Barnes said there had been “general disturbance”-type calls to the area and building in the past, but it wasn’t clear if the calls were specifically to the apartment where the shooting occurred. City property records show two residential units at that address.

The apartment had a sign in the window that said “Anisa World,” with dates that match the date 11-year-old Anisa Scott was born and the date she died after being shot in a drive-by shooting on Madison’s East Side on Aug. 11, 2020. She was a passenger in a car on East Washington Avenue when occupants from another vehicle opened fire, intending to strike the driver.

Barnes said he wasn’t immediately aware of any connection between Scott’s murder and Friday’s fatal shooting.

Barnes said the home invasion was the second of two in that neighborhood overnight Thursday. He did not believe they were connected but said the area will get additional police attention over the weekend.

Friday’s fatal shooting is the seventh killing this year in Madison, Barnes said, although two were deemed justified.

Texas robbery victim shoots and kills suspect who pulled gun on him

SAN ANTONIO – A young man is dead after being shot in the neck by a man defending himself during a robbery attempt early Friday morning.

The shooting happened around 3:30 a.m. at the Doral Club Apartments off Culebra Road near Ingram Road on the West Side.

Police said a man arrived home at the apartment complex when he noticed a vehicle circling the parking lot. A silver car pulled up and three young men got out of the car, all pointed guns at the victim and demanded all his stuff.

The victim didn’t comply, instead, pulled out his own gun and shot one of the young men in the neck. One of the young men got back in their car and drove off and the other took off running through the apartment complex.

The young man who was shot was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, but later died from his injuries.

A search for the other suspects turned up nothing.

As of right now, the victim is not facing any charges. The investigation is still ongoing.

Intruder shot, but victims are fine following home invasion on Saturday

ONTARIO — An intruder who was shot during a home invasion on Saturday is expected to survive, although he was transported to a local hospital for emergent care following the incident. If he is released from the hospital, Terry Lee Martz, 67, will be taken into custody by law enforcement.

Martz has active felony warrants out of Idaho. Idaho Department of Corrections had Martz listed on its most wanted list since October of 2020. He was listed as a fugitive with a parole violation for kidnapping/rape/sexual abuse of a minor. According to that information, he had absconded from parole and failed to register as a sex offender.

No other injuries were reported in the incident on Saturday.

“The victims are fine in that situation, which is kind of a big deal,” said Undersheriff Travis Johnson in a phone interview on Monday.

A request for information about charges for the home invasion is pending with the District Attorney’s Office.

According to a news release on Sunday afternoon from Malheur County District Attorney David Goldthorpe, a home invasion with a firearm was reported to police at about noon on Saturday. The area was the 4000 block of Elderberry Lane, which is north of Ontario city limits off of Highway 201.

Malheur County Sheriff deputies and the Oregon State Police troopers responded to the incident.

According to interviews conducted and evidence gathered at the scene, police determined that Martz had entered the home through an unlocked door. At that time, the woman who lived there was reading in the living room and the man who lived there was in the shed near the home.

The news release states that when the man re-entered his home, “he found Martz in the kitchen pointing a firearm his direction.”

When the resident asked Martz what he wanted, Martz allegedly “demanded the male make him a sandwich.” So he did; when he was done with that, he then asked if his wife was OK. Martz said she was.

The man then asked Martz if he could check on her himself. According to the release, when the resident did that, he told his wife they had a guest, then “quickly retrieved his shotgun from the bedroom and returned.”

The district attorney reports that the men got into a physical struggle while holding their guns and, during that time, the shotgun was discharged.

That struck Martz near the side of his chest, and enabled the residents to restrain and disarm him.

They then called police, who responded with paramedics. According to the district attorney, at last confirmation, Martz was expected to survive the gunshot wound.

“This was a traumatic situation for the residents, who had never before seen or heard of Terry Martz,” wrote Goldthorpe. “Thankfully they both made it through the ordeal safely and have each other for continued support.”

He offered gratitude to the Sheriff’s Office for its lead on the investigation, and to State Police and the sheriff’s office for quick response to the emergency.

Asked whether he had any cautionary advice for people as far as leaving their homes unlocked, Johnson had the following to say.

“It’s a hard habit to get into locking your door all the time and, really, the bottom line is most of us are very safe in our homes, even with the doors unlocked throughout day. But for safety reasons, obviously, if you lock your door makes it harder for people to get in,” the undersheriff said, adding, “These situations are pretty uncommon, but becoming more common.”

 

Man with concealed carry license wounds carjacker during exchange of gunfire in North Austin

A man with a concealed carry license shot and wounded an armed carjacker during an exchange of gunfire in North Austin on the West Side early Monday.

The man was in his car in the 5500 block of West Crystal Street when the carjacker fired at him around 1:25 a.m., Chicago police said.

The man returned fire and hit the carjacker in the chest, police said. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center in critical condition. His gun was recovered at the scene.

The man with the CCL was not injured.

Teen killed in apparent self-defense shooting in Winnemucca

WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (KOLO) -A teenager is dead following a shooting early Sunday in Winnemucca. Police said it appears to be self-defense.

The Winnemucca Police Department did not immediately release the names of those involved.

Police said they responded Sunday at about 12:26 a.m. to the Maverik at 605 W. Haskell St. on reports of shots being fired.

They arrived to find a 16-year-old boy had been shot by a 19-year-old male. The 16-year-old was taken to Humboldt General Hospital where he died from his injuries.

People said witnesses and participants cooperated with the investigation. It appears the 16-year-old attacked the 19-year-old with a knife prior to the shooting.

“The preliminary investigation shows that this was an act of self-defense,” police said.

Homeowner shoots, kills intruder in Lincoln Heights

A homeowner shot and killed a man who allegedly tried to stab him outside his home in the Lincoln Heights neighborhood of Los Angeles late Friday, police said.

Officers responded to the area of E. Avenue 28 around 9:40 p.m. on a report of “shots fired” during a home invasion.

Authorities tell KTLA 5 the homeowner was in his front yard when the suspect approached him, walked onto his property, and charged at him with a knife. The homeowner opened fire, striking the suspect, who then fled approximately a quarter-mile before he collapsed and died, police said.

The homeowner was not injured and family members, who were inside at the time of the incident, were unharmed.

It was not immediately clear if the homeowner knew the suspect, believed to be 30 years old, or if this was a clear case of self-defense.

The large crime scene encompassed several city blocks Saturday morning. The shooting remains under investigation.

Fatal stabbing at SW Kan. home was in self-defense

FINNEY COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities investigating the fatal stabbing of 58-year-old Robert Gallardo Molina in Garden City on Thursday have presented evidence to the Finney County Attorney, according to a media release from police.

Just after 5:30.m. Thursday, police were dispatched to the 400 block of E. Santa Fe Street in Garden City for a reported stabbing.

First responders found Molina stabbed inside the residence where relatives lived, according to a social media report. EMS transported Molina to St. Catherine Hospital, where he later died.

The evidence gathered in the case was reviewed by the Garden City Police Department and the Finney County Attorney’s Office. At this time, both police and the Finney County Attorney agree the evidence available provides probable cause that the suspect in this matter acted in self-defense, and therefore no arrests should be made, and no charges will be filed.

If additional evidence comes to light indicating this homicide was not justified by self-defense, the Garden City Police Department and the Finney County Attorney will re-evaluate the case to determine if charges should be filed at that time.

Woman shoots vehicle burglar to death in Arlington during fight over gun

During a fight over her gun, a woman last week shot dead a man who had broken into her son’s vehicle in Arlington, police said on Wednesday.

Arlington police said the woman told them that on Aug. 11 the man burglarized the vehicle and she and her son confronted the suspect and tried to detain him.

A physical altercation erupted, and the woman and the suspect fought over her handgun.

One of them fired the gun in the air once, and the woman shot the suspect in self-defense, according to her statement, police said.

Christopher Cruz, 34, was fired upon about 12:45 a.m. Police said he was lying on the ground at George Stevens Park, a city park in the 500 block of Echols Street, when they arrived. Cruz died about nine hours later at a hospital of a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Police on Wednesday said the woman has not been arrested.

Mom fatally shot home intruder to defend kids, she says

MILWAUKEE (WTMJ) – A family of three is now traumatized after they say a strange man broke into their home, and the mother fatally shot him while defending her children, she claims.

A mother of two, who asked not to be identified, was showering before work Monday morning when she heard her children, ages 12 and 14, screaming from the living room.

Still dripping wet, she says she ran to her bedroom, grabbed her gun and faced down a strange man, who she claims broke into her home. She says the man charged, undeterred by her dogs, and she shot him in self-defense.

“It all happened so fast — an adrenaline rush,” she said.

Community activist Bushraa Rahman helped clean up the home after authorities removed the body.

“She was scared because her children were there with her. So, she did what any mother would do. She defended her children,” Rahman said. “It was an act of self-defense.”

Police have not identified the man. The mother says he appeared to be in his late 30s and was acting erratically.

Following the shooting, police arrested the mother then released her several hours later after questioning. They referred the case to the district attorney’s office for review.

“In today’s day and age, with mental health and everything else that’s taking place in the world, I mean, you better protect yourself. To be honest, you have to,” Rahman said.

The mother says her children are traumatized after the incident, and the family intends to move out once they find a new place to live.

She says she bought the gun 10 years ago after finding a man sleeping under her son’s bed. She says she hoped she’d never have to use it.

Witness follows, shoots suspect after seeing him stab driver to death at Atlanta gas station

A witness followed and shot a suspect who police say stabbed a driver to death outside an Atlanta gas station.

Atlanta police told Channel 2 they responded to a stabbing and shooting call next to each other on Martin Luther King Jr. Drive around 6 a.m. Monday.

When they arrived, they found a man in his 30s stabbed multiple times at the Texaco gas station. He later died at Grady Memorial Hospital. Police also found a man shot down the street near the Seven Court Apartments.

According to police, a driver stopped at the gas station and came back to his SUV to find a man inside it. Police said the man stabbed the driver multiple times and took off.

A witness to the stabbing decided to follow the man down the street. Police said the two got into a confrontation and the stabbing suspect lunged at the witness with a knife. Police said the witness fired his gun at the suspect and shot him at least once.

The witness is downtown being interviewed. The suspect is at Grady Memorial Hospital for evaluation.

Channel 2′s Kristen Holloway was and apartment complex near where the shooting happened. She talked to a witness who saw it all unfold as she was getting her grandchildren ready for school.

“When I came out the door, I saw a guy laying in the street shot in the leg,” Michelle Upshaw said. She said this was not the first shooting outside of her apartment. Just two weeks ago, bullets came flying through her bedroom window.

“It was, ‘Boom! Boom! Boom!’ I rolled out the bed on the floor,” Upshaw said. “If I had bene up taking my medicine at the time like I usually do, I’d be dead right now. I’m so tired of this. It don’t make no sense. They need to put these guns down.”

Police they are interviewing the witness to determine if he will face any charges.

“We just have to hear his story. Just from the accounts we’re hearing, right now preliminary, it may look like he was doing the right thing,” Deputy Chief Charles Hampton. Jr. said. “Obviously we don’t encourage anyone to get that involved, but if the circumstances is that an individual is coming toward him with a weapon, he does have a right to defend himself.”

Paulding Co. Sheriff’s Office investigate Saturday morning shooting

Emerald Township – Paulding County, Ohio—On Saturday, August 13, 2022, at 7:47 a.m., deputies were dispatched to 14238 RD 232, Cecil, Ohio, for a trespassing complaint. After deputies arrived on scene, they learned the trespasser, an adult male, was shot by the property owner.

Early stages of the investigation indicate 28-year-old Kurtis P. Puckett was trespassing on the property of 52-year-old Judd C. Spencer. During a verbal confrontation Puckett attacked and assaulted 37-year-old James G. Weaver, a friend of Spencer. As Spencer attempted to stop the assault, he gave Puckett multiple orders to stop. Puckett then turned toward Spencer and went at him in an aggressive manner. Spencer reported to investigators he told the man to stop or he would shoot him. Puckett continue toward Spencer, and while retreating Spencer fired one shot into Puckett’s hip area stopping the attack.

Puckett was flown to a Fort Wayne Hospital where he was treated and eventually released. Paulding EMS and Fire Department assisted deputies at the scene.

“Investigator’s believe Mr. Puckett was under the influence of illegal drugs,” said Sheriff Jason K. Landers. “The property owner and his friend were presented with a stranger acting erratically and the man eventually became violent by physically assaulting someone. I don’t want to see people being shot, but I wholeheartedly believe people have a right to protect themselves and their property, and in this case, it appears to be a justified self defense situation. My investigator’s will continue to process the evidence in this case and work with the Prosecutor to determine if any further criminal charges are warranted,” said Sheriff Landers.

At the time of this release, an arrest warrant for Puckett was being obtained for misdemeanor levels of assault and trespassing, however, he has not been arrested.

The investigation is ongoing, however no other information is expected to be released at this time.
