Delta Spreads So Quickly It ‘Runs Out Of Candidates’ To Infect, Says WHO Expert

A World Health Organization (WHO) expert said the Delta variant of COVID-19 spreads so fast that it runs out of people to infect, but also warned that while infections could decline just as fast as the infections increase, “there may be more to come.”

Epidemiology expert Larry Brilliant explained that based on models of Delta variant outbreaks in New York and San Francisco, the variant is spreading in “an inverted V-shape epidemic curve.” He told CNBC that the models suggest Delta infections are increasing fast, but the infections will also decline very quickly.

Brilliant’s projection of the variant’s spreading, if it turns out to be true, means that the virus continues to spread so fast that “it basically runs out of candidates” to infect, but it will also start receding following high records of infection.

There have already been apparent scenarios of Delta infection recessions in India and the United Kingdom. India peaked at more than 390,000 COVID-19 cases in May, but as of late June, cases have remained below 50,000. In the U.K., there were around 47,700 infections, but come July 29, there were only about 26,000 confirmed cases.

Brilliant, who was part of the WHO team that worked on smallpox, said that based on the Delta variant’s recent activity, the probability of a “super variant” evolving is low, although it could not be ruled out. He added that the Delta’s activity could be as short as “a six-month phenomenon in a country, rather than a two-year phenomenon” due to its quick spreading and quick recession.

Meanwhile, the COVID-19 situation in some Southern states has started to frustrate healthcare workers as they begin to see a repeat of history from last year’s devastating pandemic situation, CNN reported. Chief of Staff at Houston’s United Memorial Medical Center, Dr. Joseph Varon, said “this is a déjà vu of what we had last year,” adding that it was “preventable” but some people “are not doing the right thing.”

The U.S. is averaging more than 100,000 new cases daily, marking the highest numbers in the hard-hit country in the last six months. Some 50.1% of the total American population has been fully vaccinated, recent data from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention revealed.

So far, the United States remains the hardest-hit country in the world. Data from Johns Hopkins University revealed that the country has logged 35,762,751 confirmed coronavirus cases as of Sunday. The U.S. has also recorded 616,827 deaths linked to the disease. India follows behind with nearly 32 million confirmed COVID-19 cases and more than 427,000 deaths.

Pentagon to require COVID vaccines for all service members

Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin will request approval for the COVID-19 vaccine to become mandatory for all U.S. military service members by mid-September, according to a memo he sent to all Defense Department employees.

“I want you to know that I will seek the President’s approval to make the vaccines mandatory no later than mid-September, or immediately upon the U.S. Food and Drug Agency (FDA) licensure, whichever comes first,” Austin wrote in the memo.

A U.S. official initially confirmed Austin’s decision to ABC News before it was later made public in the written message to all U.S. military service members.

“By way of expectation, public reporting suggests the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine could achieve full FDA licensure early next month. The intervening few weeks will be spent preparing for this transition,” Austin wrote.

Given the rising coronavirus case numbers amid the increasing spread of the highly transmissible delta variant, Austin noted that “I will not hesitate to act sooner or recommend a different course to the President if l feel the need to do so.”

In a statement released shortly after Austin’s memo was sent out, the president said, “I strongly support Secretary Austin’s message to the Force today on the Department of Defense’s plan to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of required vaccinations for our service members not later than mid-September. Secretary Austin and I share an unshakable commitment to making sure our troops have every tool they need to do their jobs as safely as possible. These vaccines will save lives. Period. They are safe. They are effective.”

“We cannot let up in the fight against COVID-19, especially with the Delta variant spreading rapidly through unvaccinated populations. We are still on a wartime footing, and every American who is eligible should take immediate steps to get vaccinated right away,” Biden’s statement continued.

Because the COVID-19 vaccines are currently only being used under an emergency use authorization from the FDA, Biden will have to grant a waiver to enable the Pentagon to make vaccinations mandatory.

CDC Director Makes Case Vaccination Passports are Futile, Vaccines Do Not Prevent COVID Infection or Delta Variant Transmission

The Director of the CDC made an important admission during an interview on CNN. CDC Director Rochelle Walensky stated the vaccine does not prevent COVID-19 infection, nor does it stop the vaccinated person from transmitting the infection or the delta variant. According to Director Walensky, the only benefit from the vaccine now is presumably that it reduces the severity of symptoms.

14 Israelis infected with COVID despite 3rd vaccine dose

9 days after Israel kicked off campaign for third vaccine dose, Health Ministry statistics reveal 2 people hospitalized despite booster shot

More than a dozen Israelis who have been vaccinated three times against SARS-CoV-2 have been diagnosed with the virus in spite of the vaccines, according to a new report Sunday evening.

According to data from Israel’s Health Ministry which was published in a report by Channel 12 Sunday evening, fourteen people who have received a third dose of the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID vaccine were diagnosed with the coronavirus at least seven days after receiving the third dose.

Israel officially kicked off its mass vaccination campaign for the third dose on July 30th, and has vaccinated some 422,000 people with the third dose thus far. The third dose is available to members of high-risk groups, including the elderly.

Of the 14 recipients of the third dose who tested positive for the virus at least seven days after receiving the booster shot, eleven are over the age of 60, with the remaining three being younger people who received the shot because they suffer from compromised immune systems.

Two of the 14 people who were diagnosed with COVID at least a week after receiving the booster shot have been hospitalized as a result of their COVID infections. Sunday’s report did not specify whether the two are in serious condition.

Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett called on Israeli Arabs to get vaccinated against COVID, saying the vaccine is a crucial part of the battle against the Delta Variant.

“This epidemic of the Delta variant is flooding the whole world and bringing with it high rates of contagion and increased mortality rates in many countries. The Delta variant is also spreading through Israel, and those most affected are older people – your parents and your grandparents. Therefore, Israel has obtained additional vaccine doses in order to provide our citizens with a third vaccine dose, so that we can protect all those over the age of 60.”

Bennett said that vaccination rates among the Arab sector are “too low.”

 

When In Doubt, Blame A Republican For COVID Deaths

Throughout the COVID crisis, we’ve witnessed an amazing display of leftist logic. No matter the circumstances, Republicans were always at fault.

When the coronavirus first swept the nation in early 2020, the deaths were concentrated almost entirely in the country’s liberal enclaves: New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Michigan, Illinois, Pennsylvania.

And we know a big reason: Democratic governors in those states panicked and ordered nursing homes to take sick elderly out of hospitals, even if they were positive for COVID. The result was that nursing homes turned into death camps.

New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was even caught red-handed lying about the number of nursing home deaths to cover up this tragedy.

Yet at the time, blame for every COVID death in the country was pinned on the supposed ineptitude of President Donald Trump (rather than communist China, where the blame ultimately rests).

That was almost exactly how candidate Joe Biden framed it, as a matter of fact. “If the president had done his job, had done his job from the beginning, all the people would still be alive,” Biden said during the presidential campaign, as the death toll reached 200,000. “All the people. I’m not making this up. Just look at the data.”

Trump did, to be sure, send lots of mixed messages about COVID. But so did Democrats.  Biden himself attacked Trump’s supposed xenophobia after he quickly slapped a travel ban from China – before we knew of any cases in the U.S. Top Democrats, along with the sainted Anthony Fauci, were publicly downplaying the disease early on, telling people not to worry, not to bother with masks, and get out and party.

Never mind. Now that Biden’s in charge, he and the rest of the liberal chorus is blaming … Republican governors for the current rise in COVID cases.

It Begins: Boston Court Takes Custody of Biotech Executive’s 14-Year-Old Child to Force Vaccination Against Parents’ Wishes

For months, we’ve been warning people that Covid-19 “vaccine” totalitarianism would eventually lead to government taking our kids if we don’t let them get the jab. Well, it’s happening.

Dr. Robert Malone, the inventor of the very mRNA technology used in Pfizer and Moderna injections, was on with Steve Bannon on War Room today to explain the situation that’s unfolding in Boston, MA. A 14-year-old child who wants to be vaccinated could not get her parents’ permission, so the court has stepped in and revoked custody in order for her to get vaccinated without their consent.

“So, I’ve been called to testify as an expert witness in a court in Boston. The child who has been removed from their parents’ custody, a 14-year-old,” Malone said. “And the legal system is insisting on vaccinating this 14-year-old.

Not that it should matter, but the parents are not uninformed nincompoops. The mother is a high-level executive at a Biotech firm.

“The mother is objecting, and she’s a very senior Biotech executive,” Malone continued. “She’s highly informed. She’s made the decision not to vaccinate her child based upon the data. The courts have removed custody and are trying to force the child to accept vaccination. They’re so worked up, the parents have the capital, they’re going to fly me up to Boston to testify in court.”

The Constitution has not been suspended by Covid-19, nor has our God-given right and responsibility to raise our children properly. Unfortunately, this is one of a multitude of outrages occurring now, and it’s only going to get worse if we do not stand up and stop this madness.

Pseudo-Omniscience Versus Freedom

Shut up and submit” is now the favorite Covid cure of some of America’s leading progressives. Paul Krugman, a Nobel Prize winner and New York Times columnist, revealed on Tuesday that since freedom is a mirage, people have no good reason not to comply with endless government commands. Unfortunately, punitive panaceas are increasingly popular among both politicians and pundits.

Krugman breezily expunges years of Supreme Court rulings to remove any impediment to forcibly injecting a hundred million Americans with an experimental vaccine. Krugman explains that “when people on the right talk about ‘freedom’ what they actually mean is closer to “defense of privilege” — specifically the right of certain people (generally white male Christians) to do whatever they want.” Blacks and Hispanics have lower rates of Covid vaccinations than whites, but the freedom of minority groups is apparently irrelevant because some Trump supporters are anti-vax loudmouths.

Democrats Don’t Need Masks Because They’re Better Than You

We’re still learning about COVID-19 and how it spreads, but one of its more unusual properties is that it doesn’t seem to affect people with political opinions preferred by our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in the press. It’s the first virus in the history of the world that votes Democrat.

Let’s say you’re in a crowded place with a bunch of people, and you’re worried that you might be in the middle of what has come to be known as a “superspreader event.” Well, maybe you are, maybe you aren’t. It depends. Are you attending something frivolous and stupid, like a football game or a motorcycle rally or a speech by a Republican? Or are you participating in something politically important and socially just, like a race riot?

The virus knows. It knows what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, and it only punishes people who don’t read The Atlantic or listen to NPR.

If you can recite a MyPillow ad from memory, you need to wear a mask when you’re told to wear a mask. But if you can pick Lin-Manuel Miranda out of a lineup, you don’t have anything to worry about. That’s how COVID-19 works. That’s just the settled science.

It’s 2021, people. If you want to go out for dinner with family and friends, or take your kids to the zoo, or do any of the other things that were once commonplace, first you need to ask yourself one crucial question: “Am I a prominent Democrat politician?”

New Report on the Wuhan Lab Details ‘Greatest Coverup of All Time’

Over the weekend, House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Michael McCaul released new details about unsafe conditions at the Wuhan Institute of Virology.

For years, Chinese scientists were juicing up and manipulating deadly viruses in unsafe conditions. McCaul is calling on Congress to officially rule out the wet market theory, which the Chinese Communist Party has used to distract from the deadly lab leak.

“While much of the public debate was initially focused on the Huanan seafood market in Wuhan as the origin of the pandemic, the preponderance of evidence now suggests that the virus leaked from the Wuhan Institute of Virology. Given the WIV’s demonstrated history of conducting gain-of-function experiments on coronaviruses, including genetically manipulating viruses specifically to make them infectious to humans in BSL-2 labs, as well as their possession of one of the world’s largest collections of coronaviruses, it is completely plausible that one or more researcher(s) was accidentally infected and carried the virus out of the lab. The evidence outlined above, combined the cover-up conducted CCP authorities, strongly suggest the Wuhan Institute of Virology as the source of the current pandemic,” McCaul released in a statement.

“We know gain-of-function research was happening at the WIV and we know it was being done in unsafe conditions. We also now know the head of the Chinese CDC and the director of the WIV’s BSL-4 lab publicly expressed concerns about safety at PRC labs in the summer of 2019. It is our belief the virus leaked sometime in late August or early September 2019. When they realized what happened, Chinese Communist Party officials and scientists at the WIV began frantically covering up the leak, including taking their virus database offline in the middle of the night and requesting more than $1 million for additional security,” he continued.

Just to point out, if and when a ‘real’ vaccine – not this experimental genetic potion that’s never before been authorized for use in humans– passes the standard FDA approval regimen and is available, I’ll consider getting the shot. Until then, all this hypocritical and hyperbolic going on serves to confirm nothing more than the similar line about global warming: “When the elites start personally acting like it’s a real emergency, I’ll think about considering as such.”

CDC: Vaccinated people spread COVID-19 Delta variant as easily as unvaccinated.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Friday released data showing that vaccinated people are at increased risk for COVID-19 infection with the Delta variant and that they can spread the disease nearly as easily as unvaccinated people.

Nearly 75% of COVID-19 cases connected with large gatherings on Cape Cod in Massachusetts occurred in people fully vaccinated against the virus, according to data published Friday by the CDC.

The new data comes after the agency issued guidance on Tuesday recommending that everyone, including those who are fully vaccinated, wear masks in indoor public settings in areas where COVID-19 transmission is high.

If the CDC is so concerned that people apparently can still catch the bug, what good is the vax in the first place?

CDC: Vaccinated people should get tested after exposure, even without symptoms.

The agency now advises that vaccinated people be tested for the virus if they come into contact with someone with Covid-19, even if they have no symptoms. Previously, the health agency had said that fully vaccinated people did not need to be tested after exposure to the virus unless they were experiencing symptoms.

“Our updated guidance recommends vaccinated people get tested upon exposure regardless of symptoms,” Dr. Rochelle P. Walensky, the agency’s director, said in an email to The New York Times. “Testing is widely available.”

Fully vaccinated people should wear a mask in public indoor spaces after exposure, the agency said. Three to five days later, they should be tested for the virus.

If the results come back negative, they can stop wearing masks indoors. If results are positive, the infected should isolate at home for 10 days.

he Centers for Disease Control and Prevention cited an unpublished study from India to justify its recommendation Tuesday that fully vaccinated people “wear a mask in public indoor settings in areas of substantial or high transmission” of COVID-19.

That study, which claimed the Delta variant produced an unusually large viral load in more than 100 vaccinated healthcare workers with “breakthrough infections,” was listed as having failed peer review in the journal Nature when the CDC cited it.

Archives of the study’s page on Research Square, a preprint server for unpublished research, show that it was marked “reject” on July 9 and remained so at least through the evening of July 26, Eastern Daylight Time.

That version was still live early Wednesday morning, the day after the CDC cited the study in its July 27 updated science brief, according to a Twitter user who posted a screenshot.

The “reject” status and review notes were removed by mid-morning and replaced with “posted,” suggesting Nature had approved the paper without revisions, which drew controversy on Twitter. The notes were quickly restored and status changed to “revise,” bearing the same date — July 9 — as the original “reject” status.

Research Square addressed the confusion twice around noon Wednesday, blaming “a bug” and “a user interface error on our end.” It said the paper was still under review “and the current editorial decision is ‘Revise.'”

The review notes disappeared again from the “peer review timeline” later in the afternoon, leaving only a “current status” classification of the paper as “under review.” Research Square also posted a revised header clarifying that the paper was being considered by “a Nature Portfolio Journal,” not necessarily the flagship journal, and that it partners with the publisher on “a journal-integrated preprint deposition service.”

“Not Grounded in Reality”: Many Republican Governors Make Clear They Will Not be Mandating Masks or Vaccines

Republican governors are starting to speak out against what is becoming almost daily flip-flopping by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), who is now once again advocating that everybody wear masks indoors.

Several governors have said their respective states would break from the CDC’s recommendation and not return to the mask mandates, according to the Hill.

Nebraska Gov. Pete Ricketts railed against the CDC:

“The CDC’s new guidance suggesting that vaccinated people wear masks indoors flies in the face of the public health goals that should guide the agency’s decision making. The State of Nebraska will not be adopting their mask guidance.”

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey also spoke out:

“Public health officials in Arizona and across the country have made it clear that the best protection against COVID-19 is the vaccine. Today’s announcement by the CDC will unfortunately only diminish confidence in the vaccine and create more challenges for public health officials — people who have worked tirelessly to increase vaccination rates.”

CDC Director Rochelle Walensky said on Wednesday that the Delta variant has “changed the agency’s best understanding of the science of the virus”.
