This is easy to understand. Mexicans in California tend to vote Demoncrap while Cubans in south Florida tend to vote Republican.

‘Outrageous:’ Mayorkas Blasted for Vowing to Reject Asylum-seeking Haitians, Cubans.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas vowed the United States will reject any Haitian or Cuban attempting to enter the country by boat, even if they have demonstrated a credible fear of being persecuted in their home countries.

“Allow me to be clear: if you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States,” Mayorkas said.

The warning comes as Cuban authorities are cracking down on demonstrators after massive protests erupted in the country over the weekend. At least 100 people are missing or have been arrested so far. In Haiti, the nation has been rocked by turmoil after President Jovenel Moise was assassinated last week.

Mayorkas fled Cuba with his parents in 1960 after Fidel Castro’s communist takeover of the country, a point he spoke about when President Biden nominated him to lead DHS.

“When I was very young, the United States provided my family and me a place of refuge,” Mayorkas tweeted. “Now, I have been nominated to be the DHS Secretary and oversee the protection of all Americans and those who flee persecution in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones.”

But on Tuesday, Mayorkas said those attempting to make it to the U.S. by sea will be stopped by the Coast Guard and returned to their countries.

“If individuals make, establish a well-founded fear of persecution or torture, they are referred to third countries for resettlement,” Mayorkas said, reports CBS News. “They will not enter the United States.”

Hypocrite: After Rejecting Help From Trump, Lightfoot Asks Biden to Send Federal Troops to Chicago

In the wake of a deadly Independence Day weekend, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has asked Joe Biden to send federal troops to her city to help control the violence.

“At least 108 people were shot in Chicago over the long Independence Day weekend, including two police officers; children, including 5- and 6-year-old girls; and a group of six people early Monday in the Washington Park neighborhood — where a man was killed hours later in an unrelated shooting,” reports the Chicago Tribune.

But when President Trump offered to send federal troops to Chicago to do exactly what Lightfoot is requesting now, she flatly rejected it.

“‘Troops’ are forces that come from the military and obviously that is not what is needed in Chicago,” Lightfoot said in a statement shared to Twitter last summer. “I have made it clear that we do not need nor want troops – or any unnamed federal officers that we’ve seen in news reports from Portland.  I am confident that I’ve made that point crystal-clear on your behalf.”

Yet another official hobgoblin to frighten the citizenry

Glenn Greenwald (who famously broke the Snowden revelations about state invasion of citizen privacy) alerts us that a new pattern of government warnings to the American people signals a new politically-inspired war on terror.  This time it’s directed against conservatives and Trump supporters, who are now officially lumped together and derided as “domestic extremists”.  Trouble is, it’s just as false and manipulative as such warnings have been in the past.

The Department of Homeland Security on Friday issued a new warning bulletin, alerting Americans that domestic extremists may well use violence on the 100th Anniversary of the Tulsa race massacre. This was at least the fourth such bulletin issued this year by Homeland Security (DHS) warning of the same danger and, thus far, none of the fears it is trying to instill into the American population has materialized.. . .

Just like the first War on Terror, these threats are issued with virtually no specificity. They are just generalized warnings designed to put people in fear about their fellow citizens and to justify aggressive deployment of military and law enforcement officers in Washington, D.C. and throughout the country.. . .

Fear is crucial for state authority. When the population is filled with it, they will acquiesce to virtually any power the government seeks to acquire in the name of keeping them safe. But when fear is lacking, citizens will crave liberty more than control, and that is when they question official claims and actions. When that starts to happen, when the public feels too secure, institutions of authority will reflexively find new ways to ensure they stay engulfed by fear and thus quiescent.

ATF Nominee David Chipman Seems Strangely Uninterested in Hunter Biden’s Alleged Illegal Gun Purchase

“Can I get your commitment that if you’re confirmed, you will in fact look into this matter and refer it for prosecution if you find that Hunter Biden violated a law?” [Senator Tom] Cotton pressed [ATF Director nominee David] Chipman.

“Senator, what I will assure you is that if ATF director, I will ensure that all violations of law are investigated and referred,” Chipman replied, again evading the Hunter Biden inquiry. “I’m not sure that it has not been investigated.” …

“If the facts are as clear-cut as they appear to be based on Mr. Biden’s own admission, I would expect to see criminal charges forthcoming,” Cotton said after questioning Chipman. “But I would say that when a case is as high-profile as this, if there is not an answer for the American people and public, it severely undermines the confidence in our gun laws, as well as the ATF and the Department of Justice, if there are not criminal consequences.”

BLUF:
In 2005, a U.S. Senator made a specific statement about what the U.S. policy should be with respect to the southern border: “We simply cannot allow people to pour into the United States undetected, undocumented, unchecked, and circumventing the line of people who are waiting patiently, diligently, and lawfully to become immigrants in this country.”

The senator was Barack Obama. He had a point that remains sharp. Tennessee elected officials are on solid ground with their questions.

Several years ago I was in a conversation about the border with a person who worked in government. This individual was critical of Trump policies to enforce U.S. border laws and tighten down the border, saying that people were trying to get to the U.S. to seek a better life.

Acknowledging that to be true, I then asked what local laws could be violated by someone seeking a better life?

The answer on that question? Silence. That’s likely to be some of the answers as well to questions down-on-Biden policy Tennessee elected officials are asking.

The reaction of many Republican Tennessee officials to news that President Joe Biden’s administration is transporting unaccompanied migrant children into and out of Chattanooga is described by an old saying around Tennessee’s Capitol Hill: “If I ain’t up on it, I’m down on it.”

That can happen when elected officials find out that they’re not being kept up on a federal government policy that affects their constituents and communities. A Tennessee senator says current southern border policy means “every town is now a border town.”

A series of questions is being asked of the Biden administration by a trio of Tennessee elected officials following a WRCB-TV, Chattanooga, May 19 report that began, “Chattanooga’s Wilson Air Center is receiving planes carrying migrant children who are being bused to multiple Southeastern cities during overnight hours.”\

Gun Control Police Chief’s AR-15s Are Missing

Miami police chief Art Acevedo has some explaining to do. The vocal advocate for enacting strict gun control on the rest of America can’t seem to control the firearms in his own police department.

Twenty five AR-15 rifles were reported “missing” from the Miami Police Department, in what some officials are saying is just a matter of administrative record keeping. Miami’s Police Chief Art Acevedo sent a memo to all 1,400 police officers on the force warning them if the rifles weren’t returned by May 17, they would be considered stolen.

Nothing To See Here

“I don’t think this is a theft issue. I think it’s an inadequate check and balance issue, and an inadequate records management and surveillance issue,” Chief Acevedo told media. Still he had a stern warning.

“If a gun is not found, it will be reported — anything in the system will be lost or stolen — and anyone who subsequently finds a gun must suffer from the consequences,” he explained.

By the time the deadline passed, six of the 25 rifles were recovered, leaving 19 rifles still missing.

This isn’t the first time firearms went missing in Miami’s police department. Five years ago, 11 firearms were reported missing from the training academy. They were never recovered.

Chief Acevedo is no stranger to the spotlight. He’s a perennial gun control witness in Congress, testifying for gun control while he served in his previous job as Houston’s police chief. It was during that tenure, he told a Texas publication he supported limiting gun rights of those who are law-abiding and of sound mind.

Whitmer apologizes for violating own order at restaurant gathering

On May 15, the state’s Department of Health and Human Services issued an order disallowing groups of more than six people to be seated together at a restaurant, and each party has to be separated by six feet. However, the governor was caught disregarding that rule on Saturday.

Whitmer was spotted at the Landshark Bar & Grill in East Lansing. A photograph of the group with Whitmer showing tables pushed tougher and no masks being worn was briefly posted on social media. Her chief operating officer, Tricia Foster, was also at the event.

“Throughout the pandemic, I’ve been committed to following public health protocols,” Whitmer said Sunday in a statement. “Yesterday, I went with friends to a local restaurant. As more people arrived, the tables were pushed together. Because we were all vaccinated, we didn’t stop to think about it.”

“In retrospect, I should have thought about it. I am human,” she added. “I made a mistake, and I apologize.”

Ted Goodman, spokesman for the Michigan Republican Party, said, “For Gov. Whitmer, it’s rules for thee but not for me,” according to the Detroit News.

Whitmer has faced strong criticism from conservatives for her handling of the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns, in part because this weekend’s violation wasn’t the first time she has been accused of not following her own policies.

On March 12, Whitmer traveled on a private plane to Florida to visit her ill father, returning to Michigan on March 15, despite guidance against traveling.

A number of other Democratic politicians, including California Gov. Gavin Newsom, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot, and Washington, D.C., Mayor Muriel Bowser, have also been caught violating the coronavirus restrictions.

Last week, Whitmer announced outdoor capacity limits will be lifted June 1, when indoor capacity limits will also be raised to 50%. Indoor capacity limits and the state’s broad mask mandate will be fully lifted July 1 for those who received the vaccine.

We have constantly heard the mantra from the left that “you can oppose Israel and oppose anti-Semitism.” That’s very true. Israel is certainly not untouchable. They have made mistakes, They have made foolish decisions, as any other state does from time to time.

But the Free Beacon has it exactly right. The new anti-Semitism is the old anti-Semitism dressed up in social justice rhetoric. It incites violence against Jews just as surely as the obscene, nauseating anti-Semitism of those Palestinians in London screaming to rape the daughters of Jews.

There is absolutely no difference. And the radicals would see that if they weren’t so besotted with a warped concept of “justice”

ANTI-SEMITIC ATTACKS ON THE RISE AS THE LEFT CONTINUES TO INCITE VIOLENCE.

Even though there’s a cease-fire in Gaza as Israel and Hamas catch their breath before the next round of terrorist attacks and retaliation, the violence against Jews in the United States is escalating.

A pro-Palestinian mob attacked two Jewish customers at a well-known bagel shop in Manhattan. Amit Skornik and Snir Dayan are Israeli army veterans who went out for a bite to eat. The mob confronted them after Dayan attached a small Israeli flag to his motorcycle.

 

In another incident, a pro-Palestinian was arrested during a March and charged with a hate crime after beating a Jewish bystander.

Wall Street Journal:

Waseem Awawdeh, 23 years old, is accused of attacking the 29-year-old Jewish man on Thursday night on Broadway near West 49th Street as protesters made their way through Times Square and clashed with pro-Israeli counterdemonstrators and police, the officials said.

The suspect was among a group of five or six people who made anti-Semitic comments while punching, kicking and pepper spraying the victim, the officials said. The group also beat the victim with a crutch, according to the officials. The victim was hospitalized and was in stable condition, according to the police officials.

There have been several other anti-Semitic attacks across the country. But the anti-racists on the left who can certainly scream loud enough if a policeman kills a black person, have suddenly gone mute. Either they aren’t speaking up or have actively taken up the Palestinian cause.

Let me say, first, that I take no joy in Bill and Melinda Gates’s divorce. The union of two souls in one flesh is a deep-set spiritual reality, whether the participants know that or not. Things fuse so naturally in marriage that you hardly notice: bank accounts, social networks, families. Untwining two lives means tearing all that asunder. It can devastate even adult children, of which the Gateses have three. I grieve for them.

But because I take this so seriously, I cannot help remarking that these two people have expressed no intention to reflect, even for a second, on what divorce implies about their qualifications as global lifestyle coaches. Absent from all their public statements thus far has been any indication that this represents a significant personal breakdown for both of them, or that such breakdowns should give pause to people who wish to tell us all, every one of us, how to live.

Biden Wants Strict Rules For Gun Owners, But Not Illegal Immigrants

President Biden has made no secret that he believes there should be universal, extended background checks for every single gun sale in the United States. But when it comes to releasing unaccompanied migrant children to sponsors, President Biden and his administration are all too happy to skip background checks and hand over the kids to whomever claims them.

Here’s what the Wall Street Journal reported last month, “The government is planning to begin … releasing children before sponsors’ background checks have been completed. … [C]hild welfare officials will conduct welfare checks after a minor is placed with a sponsor—typically a parent, relative or family friend.”

The fact that the Biden Administration would turn children over to adults without verifying their identity or criminal backgrounds is incredibly alarming. “Background checks for thee, but not for me,” seems to be President Biden’s refrain.

Biden Admin Wins ‘Immediate Possession’ Of Private Land To Expand Border Wall

The federal government won the right to take immediate possession of private land along the United States-Mexico border in order to continue construction of the border wall — and it does not appear the Biden administration is giving it back to landowners.

“The federal government can take ‘immediate possession’ of a Texas family’s land along the US-Mexico border after a years-long court battle, a federal judge has ruled — a move at odds with President Joe Biden’s pledge to halt wall construction,” CNN reported Wednesday. “Tuesday’s ruling from Judge Micaela Alvarez of the Texas Southern District Court was a blow to the Cavazos family, who for years have been fighting to keep the land that’s been passed down for generations.”

The federal government, the outlet noted, “filed the motion for possession in 2020, sought ‘to construct, install, operate, and maintain roads, fencing, vehicle barriers, security lighting, cameras, sensors, and related structures designed to help secure the United States/Mexico border within the State of Texas.’”

Previously, most of the border wall had been constructed on land owned by the federal government, but during the Trump administration, the government sought to take control of swaths of private land so that it could build in missing segments of the border wall; eventually, then-President Donald Trump wanted a wall across the full southern border.

Although President Joe Biden halted construction on the border wall with an executive order, signed on the first day of his presidency, the federal government did not drop the lawsuit, the landowners — who told CNN they voted for the Democrat — said.

Vaccine Passports: When Fear Threatens Freedom.

“Freedom is never more than one generation away from extinction,” former President Ronald Reagan said in his famous freedom speech. “It must be fought for, protected, and handed on for [our children] to do the same, or one day we will spend our sunset years telling our children and our children’s children what it was once like in the United States, where men were free.”

Reagan was talking about the struggle against communism at the time, but his struggles and ours are longer and broader than that…………

Civil libertarians on the Left and Right must unite with those who have been fighting government lockdown power and defeat any long-term power grab such as vaccine passports. Let us not be the generation who did nothing and watched our freedom slip away.
