City’s 35th homicide appears to be self-defense slaying

A fatal shooting officers say appears to have been in self-defense has launched a 35th homicide investigation of the year for Tulsa Police Department.

Officers responded around 4:15 a.m. Thursday to a shooting call from the 2100 block of North Hartford Avenue, where a victim later identified as Isaac Weeks was found with a gunshot wound to the chest. Weeks, 40, was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a Tulsa Police Department news release.

The individual identified as the shooter reportedly turned himself in and was questioned by detectives from the Homicide Unit before being released pending further investigation.
