The spoiled brat left gets a comeuppance in Texas.

Scott Dworkin, who helped organize the resistance and a couple of impeachments, tweeted, “Lt. Col. Vindman is a patriot. Anyone saying differently is a traitor.”

Disagreement is now treason in the eyes of the American left. Of course, anything they dislike is treason or fascist or white supremacist. Actual treason — say surrendering a country after we’ve won a war– does not meet their definition of treason.

It is the finality of his statement that smacks of Veruca Salt.

Veruca Salt is a greedy, demanding, spoiled brat in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (aka Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory). She did not care how, she wanted it now.

So it goes with the left.

Their “The Argument Is Over” argument is an attempt to win without every having to defend themselves. They are the team that scores at the top of the first inning and demands to be awarded the game because they are ahead.

They demand instant gratification. The problem with most liberals is they never are satisfied.

Obama frequently said the argument is over. The time for action is here.

Declaring the debate over does not end it. But being a liberal, Obama never cared to hear the other side of the argument. Pity. Had he incorporated a few Republican ideas, Obamacare would be more than a flat-out billion-dollar handout to insurance companies.

Liberals were gifted by a socialist Supreme Court in 1973 with a national legalization of abortion. They had lost the debate in state legislatures — only 4 legalized abortion — while Congress refused to take up the matter.

Ditto gay marriage.

The court cowers to the Veruca Salt wing of American politics.

Or so has been the case for most of my nearly seven decades.

But the State of Texas has banned abortions after six weeks of gestation, and this Supreme Court refused to hear a lawsuit that wanted to block the new law. The plaintiffs lacked standing.

The shrieking and tantrums on the left are amusing. An emotion-driven movement is taking vapors.

Republican Senator Bill Cassidy of Louisiana said the obvious. The Supreme Court will hear the case once it gets a case worthy of review. There are plenty of other heartbeat abortion laws by other states to gain the Supreme Court’s attention.

Veruca Salt may not be so pleased with the final result.

Cassidy said, “I think the Supreme Court will swat it away once it comes to them in an appropriate manner. If it’s as terrible as people say it is, it‘ll be destroyed by the Supreme Court.”

But they want it now. They don’t care how.

The overreaction has been over the top. I already mocked this morning the call by Bette Midler, 75, for a sex strike in protest. Well, no sex, no abortion. I believe pro-lifers would be fine with that.

Iskra Lawrence, an Austin-based model, said she did not know she was pregnant until she was 8 weeks gone. She had the baby. I am wondering what her point was.

I get that women want some control over whether they become mothers or not.

Men want the same control over their bodies. As it stands, if the woman decides to become a mother, the man is on the hook for child support for 18 years. It’s not the same thing? Of course not. Men and women are not the same.

Senator Cassidy says the Texas abortion law is a distraction from other issues. I can think of nothing more important than ending the killing of generations of babies in the womb.

Vindman is a patriot, just not to America. Ukraine is the land he loves.

And Veruca Salt wound up in the Dumpster where I believe Roe v. Wade is headed. Maybe not this time. But some time. It is our turn at bat.
