Not all that long ago, the Democrats ran on vowing to stop mass shootings. Now they don’t want to talk about them. And who can blame them? Few murderers want to confess their crimes.

Democrats lied about crime and the cops, and thousands of people were wounded or died.

Even as gun violence breaks records in New York City, Chicago, and Philly, the Democrats don’t have much to say about the epidemic of shootings or their pet cause, gun control. While activist Democrat prosecutors like Attorney General Letitia James have neglected to deal with the violence and are instead targeting the NRA, they aren’t really talking about gun control.

Mass shootings are rarely mentioned anymore even though there are more of them than ever.

A Washington D.C. mass shooting at a cookout last month that wounded 20 people was treated as another local crime story. And there are a lot of these local crime stories as shootings rise.

New York City has blown past 1,000 shootings, of all kinds, individual and mass, Philly hit 1,300, and Chicago is approaching 3,000 shootings.

3 Democrat cities alone will soon account for some 5,000 shootings.

2 L.A. deputies shot in ‘ambush’ attack recovering after surgery

Two Los Angeles County sheriff’s deputies were out of surgery and recovering after being shot Saturday evening in Compton in what authorities described as an “ambush” that was captured on surveillance video.

The video, released by the department, shows a man walking up to the deputies’ parked patrol car, pulling out a gun and firing several times into the front seat area from the passenger side. The assailant is then seen running from the scene. On Sunday, officials asked for the public’s help to locate the person who opened fire.

The deputies were listed in critical condition but were expected to survive.

Sheriff Alex Villanueva on Sunday called the condition of the deputies a “double miracle.”

Law enforcement sources told the Los Angeles Times that at least one of the deputies was shot in the face and the other in the head.

Chicago Gun Store Looter Released, Murders Walgreens Clerk

Perhaps some bad news can at least result in a lesson being learned, though in this case, it comes too late for one Chicago sales clerk. Last week, prosecutors report that 18-year-old Sincere Williams had robbed three stores in the Wicker Park neighborhood of Chicago, including the local Walgreens. Apparently not satisfied with his take from those robberies, Williams returned to the Walgreens last Sunday with more on his mind than simple theft. Armed with either one or two knives, Williams proceeded to stab store clerk Olga Marie Calderon nearly a dozen times before calmly walking out of the store covered in blood, leaving Calderon to die on the floor of the shop.

Prosecutors further assert that this was a premeditated killing because Williams had stashed a change of clothes nearby, switching outfits before ditching his knife in some bushes and walking back home. He managed to cut himself in the process and had to be taken to a local hospital for stitches. What the local CBS News outlet learned later made this crime all the more disturbing. Williams wasn’t unknown to law enforcement. In fact, he had robbed a gun shop in March of this year, stealing 14 handguns before being quickly apprehended by the police. The gun shop owner is outraged that he was put back out on the street so quickly and maintains that Olga Marie Calderon would be alive today had the previous crime been taken more seriously.

The owner of Suburban Sporting Goods Guns & Ammo in Melrose Park said his gun shop was burglarized in May. He said Williams tried stealing 14 handguns.

Williams, now 18, was arrested and charged with burglary at the time. And the gun shop owner said Williams should still have been off the streets at the time Cook County prosecutors said he murdered Walgreens clerk Olga Marie Calderon – and she should still be alive today…

“That’s a pretty heinous crime,” the owner said. “These weren’t hunting guns. He wasn’t stealing to feed his family. These were likely going somewhere very bad.”

“I was kind of enraged. It’s like, here’s this kid that broke into a gun store and stole several firearms,” the owner said. “Just because he was caught, it doesn’t lessen the severity of the crime.”

Sincere Williams wasn’t totally let off the hook for the gun shop robbery. He was wearing an electronic monitoring device on his ankle until last month and was scheduled for a court appearance in October. But he was somehow allowed to remove the monitoring device in August and left to his own devices while awaiting trial. Now we know how Mr. Williams chose to occupy his time. Continue reading “”

This is an example of the ‘felony murder’ rule, where the perpetrators are responsible for any deaths, even of bad guys when a homeowner kills one in self defense,  that happen during a crime.

Man charged in brother’s shooting death during burglary

A man died Thursday and two others were arrested after a homeowner fired his gun during a burglary, according to the Middletown Division of Police.

One of the men arrested is the deceased’s brother, officials confirmed Friday.

Andrew Roberts, 22, Jonathon Oatneal, 23, and Joshua Oatneal went to a residence in the 2600 block of Aspen Drive in Middletown late Wednesday evening to commit a burglary, according to a release from Middletown police.

During the burglary, the homeowner fired his gun. The bullet struck Joshua Oatneal, the release states. The two other men then transported Joshua Oatneal to the Atrium Medical Center where he was pronounced dead.

Police responded to the medical center at 12:02 a.m. Thursday, the release states. Joshua and Jonathon Oatneal were brothers.

Police said Jonathon Oatneal and Roberts were charged with murder and aggravated burglary.

 

 

Thieves sneak in, carry out heist at Japanese ninja museum

A museum in Japan dedicated to the famed Iga clan of ninja was raided by thieves on Monday, who snuck in and stole more than 1 million yen ($9,400) from a heavy safe, before vanishing undetected, according to multiple reports.

Employees at the Iga-ryu Ninja Museum, located in the central prefecture of Mie, called authorities after the building’s alarm sounded around 1:30 a.m. local time, but not before the thieves already made their getaway.

In a showcase of ninja-like stealth, the bandits are said to have forced open an office door with a crowbar, removed the safe, and exited the museum in a span of just a few minutes, local media reported, according to the Guardian.

Where is the media on this? No where, that’s where. So when you hear “Black Lives Matter” you know it means “White Lives Don’t Matter” to them. And they’re perplexed that people are buying guns and ammo like they’re going out of style.

Long time neighbor murders 5-year old innocently playing.

North Carolina police have charged a neighbor with the murder of a five-year-old boy who was riding a bike in his own yard when he was shot at point blank range on Sunday evening.

Darius Sessoms, 25, was taken into custody by Wilson police around 24 hours after he allegedly approached Cannon Hinnant in front of the young boy’s father’s house at 5:30pm and shot him in the head.

Hinnant’s seven-year-old and eight-year-old sisters witnessed the killing, their mother told WRAL.

Sessoms lived next door to the family, and the killing is not believed to be random. Neighbors claim he had dinner with Hinnant’s father Austin on Friday and had been over at the house earlier on Sunday.

The motive for the killing is still under investigation, but a GoFundMe established by a family member says that the young boy rode into Sessoms’ yard.

There is lots of good news from Austin.

Not only were murders up 67% in June, but justifiable homicides had gone up 200%. When you defund the police, some people won’t lie down and die for the thugs.

The Austin City Council voted unanimously to defund the police.

“We don’t need somebody who’s a sworn officer and a gun in order to be able to accomplish what the community needs done,” Mayor Steve Adler falsely claimed.

Austin’s proposed budget targeted millions in cuts. These included 100 vacant police positions, delaying the next cadet class, delaying the replacement of duty weapons, and there were proposals by some Democrats council members to shut down the police academy, cut the bomb squad budget, and even demolish the city’s downtown police headquarters.

The proposed budget also includes a 3.5% tax increase.

Politicians limited the ability of police officers to use force against criminals and barred them from using pepper spray and tear gas against the violent mobs of Black Lives Matter rioters.

Now Austin is number one with a bullet after its homicide rate increase passed every major city.

Overtaking more violent cities like Chicago, left behind at number two, Philly at number six, and New York at number eight, Austin had the highest percentage homicide rate increase. Continue reading “”

Not A Peep from Gun Control Lobby About ‘CHOP’ Zone Hardware, Murder

The King County, WA prosecutor has filed a first-degree murder charge against a teen who is not in custody and whose whereabouts are unknown, in the June 20 slaying in Seattle’s so-called “Capitol Hill Occupied Protest” zone, and there are details in this case that ought to raise a fury with the gun ban lobby, but so far there hasn’t been a peep.

The suspect is identified as Marcel Levon Long, 18—born on Sept. 30, 2001, according to court documents obtained by Liberty Park Press—and he apparently has fled the state. He is wanted for the murder of Lorenzo Anderson, 19, the first of two black teens killed in the CHOP Zone, where, according to a document, “On order of Seattle government officials, this became a police free zone.”

The CHOP Zone is described in court documents as an area that “included food, supplies, medics, and individuals who put up tents and maintained a presence 24 hours a day. There was also a security force of heavily armed individuals who were not affiliated with law enforcement.”

If he is the triggerman, Long would not be old enough to be legally carrying a concealed .40-caliber handgun, which he allegedly drew from a pocket and chased Anderson before shooting him fatally. Long and Anderson apparently had a dispute in 2019 that included a fight. Continue reading “”

Violence Spikes in Washington’s King County, Bastion of State Gun Control

King County, Washington is in the midst of a violent crime spike as the office of Prosecutor Dan Satterberg is reporting the first six months of the year saw more people shot than in any of the previous four years over the same time period.

Murder Increases in 36 of 50 Cities — And This City Surprisingly Leads the Way

Rarely do we witness cause and effect so clearly.

Mayors and city councils everywhere are lurching to the far-left fringe, dismissing the majority’s concerns over crime, defunding and demoralizing police, and empowering violent criminals. That’s the cause. The effect is the rising murder rates in Democrat-run cities all over the country. Americans are dying.

Thanks to “defund the police” and the Democrat cities going along with it, violent crime including homicide is surging in most of America’s largest cities. While the raw numbers are terrible for Chicago, New York, Los Angeles, and other very large cities, it’s Austin, Texas, that’s leading by percentage-increase year over year.

AUSTIN, Texas — Analysis conducted by the Wall Street Journal found that homicides have spiked in 36 of the nation’s 50 largest cities during the COVID-19 pandemic.

According to WSJ’s data, Austin leads the country in percentage increase of total homicides compared to the previous year, ahead of Chicago, New York and Los Angeles.

 

Austin’s homicide rate has increased about 64%.

Cuban community plans rally at NuLu restaurant in response to Black Lives Matter demands

Members of Louisville’s Cuban community plan to gather Sunday in support of a NuLu restaurant owner who says he was threatened by Black Lives Matter protesters during a recent demonstration.

Fernando Martinez, a partner of the Olé Restaurant Group, was one of dozens of business owners in the downtown Louisville district who recently received a letter from protesters laying out demands that aim to improve diversity in the area, which is known for its locally-owned shops and restaurants.

Martinez has publicly denounced the demands on Facebook, calling them “mafia tactics” used to intimidate business owners. And on Thursday, a small group of protesters confronted him outside his newest restaurant, La Bodeguita de Mima, on East Market Street.

“There comes a time in life that you have to make a stand and you have to really prove your convictions and what you believe in,” Martinez wrote in his Facebook post. “… All good people need to denounce this. How can you justified (sic) injustice with more injustice?”……..

The demands and an attached contract, which were created by local organizers and activists, ask NuLu business owners to:

Adequately represent the Black population of Louisville by having a minimum of 23% Black staff;
Purchase a minimum of 23% inventory from Black retailers or make a recurring monthly donation of 1.5% of net sales to a local Black nonprofit or organization;
Require diversity and inclusion training for all staff members on a bi-annual basis;
And display a visible sign that increases awareness and shows support for the reparations movement.

The Chicago Gun Myth

Politicians blame out-of-state sellers, but the real problem lies at home.
The tragically incompetent mayor of Chicago, Lori Lightfoot, appeared on CNN’s State of the Union this weekend to deflect attention from the horror show unfolding in her city by blaming interlopers for its spiking murder rate: “We are being inundated with guns from states that have virtually no gun control, no background checks, no ban on assault weapons — that is hurting cities like Chicago.”

Although these accusations have leveled by Chicago politicians for decades now, they are a myth.

For one thing, there is no state in the nation with “virtually no gun control” or “no background checks.” Every time anyone in the United States purchases a gun from a federal firearms licensee (FFL) — a gun store, a gun show, it doesn’t matter — the seller runs a background check on the buyer through the NICS (National Instant Criminal Background Check System) database. In some cases, the FFL checks to see if the buyer has passed a background check via a state-issued concealed-carry permit. In states that allow individual private sales, it is illegal to knowingly sell to anyone who you believe is obtaining a firearm for criminal purposes.

Those who cross state lines to buy guns undergo the same background check, and the sale is processed by an FFL in the buyer’s home state. The exact same laws apply to all online sales.

Studies of those imprisoned on firearms charges show that most often they obtain their weapons by stealing them or buying them in black markets. A smaller percentage get them from family members or friends. Continue reading “”

Murders Continue to Surge in Demoncrap Controlled Cities

Murders continue to surge in Houston, Chicago, St. Louis, Atlanta, and other Democrat-controlled cities around the country.

Former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson tweeted a collection of reports on July 27, which included snippets from media outlets, police departments, and city governments. The message communicated was clear–murder is surging in Houston, Denver, Atlanta, and St. Louis.

Berenson noted that murders are also up in Los Angeles, Boston, and Miami.

The violence is raging in Chicago and New York City as well. Breitbart News reported nearly 60 shot and 3 killed over the weekend in Chicago.

The Chicago Tribune reported that 373 people were shot to death in Chicago between January 1 and July 11. That figure represents 97 more people than were killed in Chicago during the same period in 2019.

Thirty-four people were shot and 10 killed over the weekend in NYC. The Minneapolis Start Tribune reported that more people have been killed in Minneapolis at this point in 2020 than were killed in all of 2019.

The mayor of NYC is Bill de Blasio (D) and the mayor of Minneapolis is Jacob Frey (D).

On June 29, Breitbart News reported a Washington Post column which noted that 17 of the 20 most violent cities in America have Democrat mayors. Among the top 20 cities for incidents of violent crime per 10,000 residents, 19 of them have Democrat mayors.

Civic unrest was so widespread that first responders took nearly 30 minutes to reach a 7-Eleven set aflame by rioters. The city’s elected leaders have seemingly abandoned the police.

Amid spike in crime, a question of who owns the streets.
Atlanta and several other U.S. cities are seeing a spike in violent crime as police activity declines. In communities where trust in police has collapsed, how is public safety maintained?

The barricades were set up within sight of the Wendy’s where an Atlanta police officer killed Rayshard Brooks last month. According to local reports, they had been there before, set up by civilians armed with semiautomatic weapons, deciding who would be allowed to pass. Residents had asked the vigilantes to leave but were ignored. A member of the City Council had been trying for days to defuse the situation.

When Secoriea Turner’s mother encountered the blockade on her way home, she decided to do a U-turn. That’s when the men opened fire, fatally wounding the 8-year-old girl.

Thirty-one people were shot across the city over that July Fourth weekend, as the homicide rate doubled over the previous year. Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp declared a state of emergency in the city. But similar spikes have been seen in New York City, Chicago, and Detroit.

Shootings Up 76 Percent in Mayor Lightfoot’s Chicago

NBC News reports not only the surge in shootings but also the fact that “nearly all the bloodshed concentrated in the city’s predominantly Black and brown communities on the South and West Sides.”

They note similar stories around the country.

For example, from January 2020 to May 2020 in Democrat-controlled Louisville, Kentucky, nearly “75 percent of homicide victims were black.”

And in Mayor Bill de Blasio’s (D) New York City, every shooting victim in the month of July has been a minority.

On July 6, 2020, Breitbart News reported that 97 percent of the NYC’s June shooting victims were minorities.

SIX WEEKS, SIX CITIES, 600 MURDERS

The single most important domestic issue of our time is not the rising number of new people testing positive for COVID-19. Deaths have hit all-time lows.

The single most important domestic issue of our time is not even the continued economic hardship of a nation that was artificially shut down and sent spiraling into a faux recession. Millions of jobs have been added over the past 60 days and the skyrocketing unemployment has turned around to nearly where it was percent wise in most of the Obama early years (11.1 vs 9.9.)

Nope!

The single most important issue, affecting some of the largest swaths of populations in America, is the scandal the media ignores even as it explodes in our faces.

In only six weeks, city after city operated by entrenched Democrats have seen a massive expansion in lawlessness, violence, and murder. Stunningly, many news outlets seem gobsmacked and mystified at how or why such an explosion of lawlessness has occurred.
