The far-left, Jeff Bezos-owned Washington Post published an article today warning that millions of jobs will not be coming back once the Chinese virus pandemic is no longer a threat.
Conservative Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) mocked the Democrats and their plan to offer unearned amnesty to millions of non-citizens living in the United States, “Millions of working-class jobs lost. Nothing that a giant amnesty can’t solve!” he tweeted.
Can’t figure out why Joe Biden is more focused on supporting illegal immigration than working Americans

From the WaPo article- Millions of jobs that have been shortchanged or wiped out entirely by the coronavirus pandemic are unlikely to come back, economists warn, setting up a massive need for career changes and retraining in the United States.
The coronavirus pandemic has triggered permanent shifts in how and where people work. Businesses are planning for a future where more people are working from home, traveling less for business, or replacing workers with robots. All of these modifications mean many workers will not be able to do the same job they did before the pandemic, even after much of the U.S. population gets vaccinated against the deadly virus.
Microsoft founder-turned-philanthropist Bill Gates raised eyebrows in November when he predicted that half of business travel and 30 percent of “days in the office” would go away forever. That forecast no longer seems far-fetched. In a report coming out later this week that was previewed to The Washington Post, the McKinsey Global Institute says that 20 percent of business travel won’t come back and about 20 percent of workers could end up working from home indefinitely. These shifts mean fewer jobs at hotels, restaurants and downtown shops, in addition to ongoing automation of office support roles and some factory jobs.
“We’re recovering, but to a different economy,” Federal Reserve Chair Jerome H. Powell said in November.
It’s curious that the Biden regime would be laser-focused on stopping construction on our border wall and giving unearned amnesty to millions of non-Americans, as economists warn of the loss of millions of jobs, post-COVID pandemic.
As of 2020, FAIR estimates that approximately 14.5 million illegal aliens are residing within the United States. This number is marginally higher than FAIR’s previous estimate of 14.3 million in 2019.
Even Democrats are taking notice of the Biden regime’s dogged determination to turn millions of illegal aliens and their children into American citizens before the next election.
Specifically, that article quotes Rep. Vicente Gonzalez (D-Texas), who explains:
The way we’re doing it right now is catastrophic and is a recipe for disaster in the middle of a pandemic. … Our party should be concerned. If we go off the rails, it’s going to be bad for us. … Biden is going to be dealing with a minority in Congress if he continues down some of these paths.
Rep. Gonzalez is likely right to be concerned. His 15th congressional district runs in a narrow band from the Rio Grande Valley (RGV) city of McAllen through Falfurrias north to northeast of San Antonio.
If you are not familiar with Texas, that is a lot of real estate and takes in a number of smuggling routes. While you may not be concerned about the border or illegal immigration, those are real concerns there.
An incredible video released on February 17 showed Del Rio, Texas, Mayor Bruno Lozano (D) begging “President” Biden to stop releasing migrants apprehended in and near his border city amid the crisis they are facing related to the ice storms in Texas. The Del Rio Mayor also called out Biden for allowing migrants into their population during the COVID pandemic.
Democrat Rep. Henry Cuellar’s Texas 28th congressional district. Texas 34 runs north from the RGV city of Brownsville, and Texas 28 runs along the RGV from east of McAllen through Laredo and north up to San Antonio.
Rep. Cuellar has expressed concerns that quickly reversing Trump’s policies at the border could result in increased migration. Politico quotes him as stating: “[W]e gotta be careful that we don’t give the impression that we have open borders because otherwise, the numbers are going to start going up. And sure enough, we’re starting to see numbers go up”.
That’s border districts. What about the rest of the country?
Politico notes that immigration has been overshadowed as an issue by the pandemic and its attendant economic downturn, but that it will take on greater importance as shutdowns end if the economy does not improve. Brandon Dillon, former chairman of the Michigan Democratic Party, is quoted by the outlet as stating:
Once Covid goes away, if the economy is still struggling, then the ability for folks to exploit the immigration issue is going to be stronger, allowing people to draw a straight line between immigration and jobs. Right now, it’s not there.
Economists aren’t even factoring in the jobs that the Biden regime will lose as a result of Biden’s America Last policies like the termination of the Keystone Pipeline construction project or the reversal of President Trump’s energy independence policies in America. Oh, and then there’s the national increase in the minimum wage that will be the beginning of the end of personal service at drive-thru restaurants and other service-related industries.
