There’s no place in the modern godless world to admit error because we have abolished both contrition and redemption. Nothing left but to double down on Zero Covid, windmill power and the proposition that Romney’s one shining moment never happened.

“According to [moderns] it is morbid to confess your sins. I should say that the morbid thing is not to confess them. The morbid thing is to conceal your sins and let them eat your heart out, which is the happy state of most people in highly civilized communities”– GK Chesterton
None of our ‘leaders’ can stop locking down Chinese cities, continuing failed invasions or printing money. There is nothing but to brazen it out. No one can say ‘mea culpa, mea maxima culpa’ because there is no ‘ego te absolvo’ in our pitiless atheist word.
One of the sources of modern political mischief is the fear of being caught contradicting something you said or did in the past, to the point where public figures scour their grade school yearbooks for embarrassments. Oceania was at war with Eurasia: how could it be otherwise.
So the fact checkers will prove Obama always thought Russia was a threat. If you thought he told Romney otherwise, you misheard. Did you expect Obama to say he was wrong? Nobody says that any more.
