Putting Clothes on the Emperor.
I have been watching the release of the Twitter files. As someone who was shadowbanned, I am watching with interest. I was early to Twitter and my original account got to 10k followers, then never went higher. I got so ticked I finally killed my account. I tried other social media platforms, but they were echo chambers.
Parler was coming on strong to challenge Twitter, and Big Tech used its power to kill it.
I am back on Twitter @pointsnfigures1 and I am paying Elon’s $8 fee for a blue check. I am happy to pay it since you know advertisers will try to leave the platform. It’s a small show of support for what he is doing for the platform. Feel free to follow me if you want.
When you are in a bubble, or you need to perpetuate a bubble, you consciously ignore data that would pop your bubble. For example, people still think Trump colluded with Russia to steal an election despite reams of data showing the contrary. People still think that Hunter Biden’s laptop is a nothing burger and the mainstream news media still hasn’t reported on it. It’s amazing.
Today, Elon tweeted that and the left-wing reacted with predictable outrage.
My guess is this is a hint as to what is coming. It’s already clear that the US government worked closely with Twitter employees to turn Twitter into a mouthpiece for leftist causes and the Democratic Party. The “Twitter Files” are the receipts.
Is Elon doing this stuff to drive engagement to the platform? You bet. I would too if I were Elon.
As an aside, Musk is kind of an amazing guy, isn’t he? He has SpaceX, Tesla($TSLA), The Boring Company, and Twitter. He must be able to recruit some pretty top-notch people to work for him at those companies because it would be impossible to be CEO and “hands-on” at all of them at the same time. It might be fun to work in a corporate culture that is guided by Musk.
My bet is that Twitter will get bigger, and somehow enter the payments industry. Combining cutting-edge information with payments will be fun to watch.
Should people go to jail, especially former Twitter employees? I am not an attorney but law professor Jonathon Turley thinks the former employees of Twitter ought to be lawyering up. My guess is they have about as much chance to go to jail as Sam Bankman Fried. I’d love to see people like John Brennan charged since they intentionally mislead the American public as well. But, that would be a hard case to prove.
What is sort of amazing to me is the willingness of the sheep on the left to continue to blindly follow the narrative despite clear and transparent releases that show exactly what everyone has been up to.
They are putting clothes on the Emporer despite the fact that he prances around naked.
The tweet above by left-wing ideologue Senator Amy Klobuchar is one example.
My response to her is to show me the data that the mRNA Covid vaccine actually worked. It never kept anyone from getting Covid and it never kept Covid from spreading. Do you know what did? Natural immunity. Getting Covid and being immune to getting it again. Fauci is not a “good man” in the least.
This vaccine was such a failure that they had to change the definition of the word vaccine. If there was a vaccine party and the Covid vax came to the door, Polio, Whooping Cough, Mumps, Shingles, and Tetanus wouldn’t let it come in.
Fauci screwed up on AIDS costing people their life and he screwed up on Covid, costing people their lives. He is a bureaucrat that embodies several Albert Einstein quotes:
The world will not be destroyed by those who do evil, but by those who watch it and do nothing.
The only thing more dangerous than ignorance is arrogance
The people standing by and doing nothing or defending the past are the people who are going to destroy society. The second quote speaks for itself. If you look arrogance up in the dictionary you will see several pictures of people like Fauci and Schiff there.
Of course, you might have gotten Covid more than once but the virus mutated. I was on the receiving end twice. One time was worse than the other time. But, it must be some sort of miracle that I am alive.
The other data about Covid that the hard left refuses to understand is that there was more damage done to society by shutting down the world economy than there was from just allowing Covid to spread and take its course.
BUT PEOPLE DIED!!! They will cite a statistic that millions died.
Except, when you tease out the data the people that died were probably already going to die in the next couple of years from another illness that they had. They were all predominantly old, 70+. Many of them were obese.
Virtually no one that was healthy died of Covid. It had an almost 99.7% survival rate.
Of course, Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida didn’t kill a bunch of old people where Governor Andrew Cuomo of New York did. Some governors did a lot better for their citizens than others. Some, like Governor Pritzker of Illinois or Governor Sisolak of Nevada, abdicated responsibility and were just towed out to pasture with their nose rings, blindly following people that had other goals than saving lives.
They shut down businesses and took people’s livelihoods away from them and propped up big corporates. In many cases, Pot stores and liquor stores could stay open but you couldn’t go to a restaurant or get your oil changed. Keep the sheep medicated, they won’t notice.
Twitter execs shut down accounts of truly credible people that popped the official Covid narrative. It was an awful thing to do with a phenomenon that people needed objective information about. Plus, it gave license to organizations like the Teacher’s Union to keep schools shuttered and damage our children while their teachers taught Zoom school on the beach.
Fauci lied to the American public, and he lied to the President of the US. So, he’s not any sort of hero. He is a failed bureaucrat that covered up a lot of what he did. It turns out Senator Rand Paul was correct when he accused Fauci of funding gain of function research and that the virus escaped from the Wuhan Lab in China where they were doing the research.
I don’t know what it will take for people to wake up. When I walk around to places, I still see people wearing masks. Masks don’t work by the way. I know of people that won’t leave their homes and haven’t left them for two years. They are damaged people. They might never be right mentally again for the rest of their lives.
In the recent dust-up at Francis Parker, school administrators and trustees are blind to a different opinion. They don’t have the self-awareness to even consider that they might be wrong of that they have gone way too far, or that there might be a better alternative way of accomplishing the same thing.
Yet, here we are seeing Democratic politicians extend emergency powers again and again. If you don’t have a Covid vaccine that doesn’t work, you can’t enter the United States. Heaven forbid, owners of real estate are raising rents! So, we need rent control which they are voting on in Omaha, Nebraska. Gosh, some business managers actually want employees to return to the office. Goodness, what happens when you have to interact in person with a human?
Meanwhile, the data scientists continue combing through data. Brain tumors are up. Other sorts of weird conditions are up. I saw something on stringy blood clots. Not just higher, but statistically outside the normal distribution of history for these things. It will be very interesting to see what they compile. I don’t think it is appropriate to draw any conclusions about cause and effect when it comes to the Covid vaccine and causing things like cancer. It’s too soon.
However, I do think this can be said and I think it can be quantified.
If you total up the costs plus the opportunity costs to our society, the government deficit spending on Covid combined with the costs of economic disruption, combined with the human costs that children and others had to pay in their personal lives was far greater than the total sum of people who died from Covid. The people that did this to us are not heroes.
They are menaces to society. Unfortunately, I don’t think they will pay a price.
