The Top 15 Cities for Murder in the United States are All Run by Democrats, New Survey Finds

The Democratic Party is running cities that are racking up the most murders in the United States, according to a new survey from Insider Monkey.

Insider Monkey compiled a list of 30 US cities by referring to the FBI’s Quarterly Uniform Crime Report and police department data. Remarkably, all of the metropolitan areas in the first 15 cities listed are governed by Democratic leadership.

Here are the top five most murderous cities so far this year:

1. Chicago, Illinois: Murders in 2023: 166

2. Philadelphia, Pennsylvania: Murders in 2023: 165

3. Phoenix, Arizona: Murders in 2023: 137

4. Dallas, Texas: Murders in 2023: 126

5. Baltimore, Maryland: Murders in 2023: 112

And the remaining five cities…

6. Houston, Texas: Murders in 2023: 109

7. Los Angeles, California: Murders in 2023: 102

8. New York City, New York: Murders in 2023: 100

9. Indianapolis, Indiana: Murders in 2023: 96

10. Kansas City, Missouri: Murders in 2023: 96

11. Detroit, Michigan: Murders in 2023: 89

12. Washington, DC: Murders in 2023: 89

13. Louisville, Kentucky: Murders in 2023: 89

14. Memphis, Tennessee: Murders in 2023: 81

15. St. Louis, Missouri: Murders in 2023: 65

The homicide statistics raise questions regarding the effectiveness of the Democrats’ social justice reform policies, and particularly, bail reform policies being sought by Soros-funded prosecutors.

Concerned citizens who are frustrated with rising crime rates resulting from lax prosecutorial action may find recourse through recall votes. In San Francisco, residents exercised their right to recall District Attorney Chesa Boudin, who received support from a Soros organization. In May, Kim Gardner, a Soros-backed prosecutor, abruptly resigned following public outcry about numerous scandals in her office.

One high-profile case is that of the criminal prosecution of former President Donald Trump, overseen by Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg. He was elected in November 2021 with indirect backing from left-wing billionaire George Soros, who gave $1 million to the Color of Change PAC, which spent it to elect Bragg. Fox News reported that Soros has “funneled $40 million dollars into district attorney campaigns nationwide,” including Bragg’s.

Since taking office, DA Bragg has downgraded approximately 52 percent of all cases brought before his office. Many of these cases involved reducing felony charges to misdemeanors. Under Bragg’s predecessor, less than 40 percent of cases were downgraded.

At least six large cities have seen crime spikes after the election of liberal prosecutors backed by groups that have received funding from billionaire megadonor George Soros, a Daily Caller News Foundation investigation found.

Motor vehicle thefts, homicides or both have surged in Philadelphia, Chicago, Los Angeles, Dallas, St. Louis and New York since liberal prosecutors were elected with the help of funding from Soros. Soros, who has used “shell organizations, affiliates, and pass-through committees” like the Texas Justice and Public Safety PAC and Missouri Safety and Justice Committee to steer funds, spent at least $40 million in the last decade on prosecutors’ campaigns, sometimes representing 80 and 90% of their total funding, the Foundation for Government Accountability (FGA) recently reported.

“Policies of non-prosecution, which a lot of the prosecutors that he’s supported have enacted, certainly contribute to crime, especially to the extent that they are triggered in cases involving repeat violent offenders,” Manhattan Institute Policing and Public Safety Initiative Research Head Rafael Mangual told the DCNF.

By refusing to prosecute crimes deemed “low-level,” cities are often releasing repeat offenders and disincentivizing the police from making arrests for such crimes, Mangual explained.

2022 report reveals that there are approximately 70 district attorneys and prosecutors connected to George Soros, a billionaire Democrat mega-donor.

Soros has been extensively investing in campaigns aimed at electing proponents of “criminal justice reform” throughout the nation. This comprehensive study conducted by the Law Enforcement Legal Defense Fund (LELDF) marks the first of its kind to quantify Soros’s substantial involvement in this sphere.

The LEDF provided a map in March 2023 showing the locations of the Soros prosecutors.

The LEDF report found that Soros-backed prosecutors oversee 20% of the U.S. population, including half of the country’s most populous cities, but more than 40% of all murders.
