Bingo! The last sentence in the story tells us why they got raided. The couple were members of a seditious group, Alaskans for Constitutional Rights!

FBI breaks into Homer, Alaska house, looking for Nancy Pelosi’s laptop

A couple in Homer, Alaska reports the FBI raided their home on Wednesday morning looking for House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s laptop.

Twelve agents, FBI, Capitol Police, and other apparent police agents, broke down the door to their home and told Marilyn and Paul Hueper to put their hands up. Paul counted seven guns trained on him when he came out of the bedroom. The agents cuffed the couple and held them for hours.

It was a case of mistaken identity, but the FBI now has possession of Marilyn’s HP Probook laptop. The photo above is on the FBI website as a person of interest in the January 6 surge into the U.S. Capitol, during which Pelosi’s laptop was stolen. The photo above is of the woman the FBI is looking for. Marilyn has no real social media presence or photos online.

“They showed me a different view, where it could have been me,” Marilyn said. The photo they showed was a side shot where the hair and coat were only visible. “They purposely withheld the picture where I could have easily seen it was not me.” Eventually they showed her the photo above — at the end of their search — where the person-of-interest’s face was clearly shown.

“I said oh no, that is not me, I would have never worn that sweater,” she said. “She is wearing this hideous sweater that I would never be caught in. She has detached earlobes, and mine are attached. She has arched eyebrows, and I don’t.”

But Marilyn said the agents told her she had been positively ID’d. Marilyn said that Wendy Terry, special agent in Anchorage, went to Matthew Scobel, the federal magistrate judge in Anchorage, and said was 100 percent positive Marilyn was the woman in the Capitol, Marilyn reported to Must Read Alaska.

“At this point, they said it was a trespassing misdemeanor but if we did not cooperate, they said they would charge me with obstructing justice,” she said.

When Marilyn said, “That’s not me,” she said the agent told her “so you want to go there,” as if she was lying and obstructing justice.

“Paul and I laughed during it. They wouldn’t let us be with each other. He was in the other room. They would not let us go to the bathroom or have a glass of water. The agents did not show the search warrant for two hours,” Marilyn said. Finally, a warrant was flashed at her, but it was quickly taken away.

Marilyn said the FBI now has her laptop, phone and she gave them all codes so they could get into her electronics, because she hopes it will hasten the time it takes to get them back.

Marilyn said, “So I guess that answers one question [about Pelosi’s laptop]. It really did get stolen and is still at large. Not conspiracy theory… if they were telling the truth.”

The couple has been active with Alaskans for Constitutional Rights, a group of civil rights activists across Alaska.

The mendacity of Joe Biden’s address to Congress
Biden is here to bring us MAPA: ‘Make America Poor Again.

John Maynard Keynes is alleged to have said ‘When the facts change, I change my mind — what do you do, sir?’ I am no fan of Keynes generally, but there is something to be said for that pithy ‘second-thoughts’ comment. It pains me to admit it, but the President’s address to the joint session of Congress put me in mind of Keynes’s observation. After all, was it not a rousing address? Even long-time critics acknowledged it. One described it as ‘a perfect blend of strength and empathy’. I have to agree. That same commentator wrote that ‘Tonight, I was moved and inspired. Tonight, I have hope and faith in America again.’

I think a lot of people felt that way. Many people agreed with him. Yes, it’s early days yet. But let’s face it. The President has already racked up significant victories. Think about his energy policy, his attack on illegal immigration, his efforts to dismantle or at least pare back the leviathan that is the administrative state, his proposals to reduce the tax burden for both businesses and individuals while also strengthening America’s military: in these and other initiatives has he not taken bold steps to fulfill his campaign promises to return power from Washington to the People and ‘make America great again’.

Oops: I was talking about the wrong speech! That was about Donald Trump’s 2018 State of the Union address, in which he called upon Americans to put aside the partisan passions that divide us in order to go forward as one people united in the goal of making a better America.

New Group Wants To Harness Buying Power Of Government To Push Gun Control

A new outfit called the Gun Safety Consortium is hoping to advance the gun control agenda, but not necessarily through legislation. The group, which is made up of mayors, police chiefs, and other public officials, say they want to use the purchasing power of local governments to compel firearms manufacturers to adopt policies and practices favored by gun control advocates, starting with so-called smart gun technology.

“This is a group that has decided to take local action to create a market that doesn’t exist or up until now hasn’t existed,” Toledo Mayor Wade Kapszukiewicz said.

The Gun Safety Consortium met Tuesday morning to call for smart gun technology, or innovative gun locks that will keep firearms secure, as data shows that more than half of registered gun owners in the country don’t keep their weapon locked up because they want quick access to it.

“I think any time you talk gun violence, you have to have a multiprong approach and it has to be multifaceted and this is just one of the facets of a gun prevention and gun violence initiative,” Lansing Police Chief Daryl Green said.

Quick-release gun locks or tracking technology are some of the proposed ideas.

The group hopes to use its purchasing power, made up of 31 jurisdictions — including cities, counties and individual law enforcement entities — to buy the products and encourage others to do the same.

“Government buys four out of every 10 guns sold in America, 40%, and when you combine military and law enforcement, it made sense that we could have a consumer revolution,” Cincinnati Mayor John Cranley said.

Here’s the thing; it’s not legislation that’s preventing “smart gun” tech from coming to market. It’s a lack of consumer demand. The reason why no market exists is because few gun owners are interested. What the new gun control group is hoping to do is to create an artificial demand for these products with the expectation that the industry will automatically follow suit.

Parents Revolt After Texas’s No. 1 School District Tries To Institutionalize Racism.

Parents of kids attending Texas’s top-performing school district found out what their schools have been teaching in the name of ‘racial justice,’ and they are livid.

A suburb of Dallas, Texas has exploded into national media coverage and arrests of school board members after parents found out what their schools have been teaching in the name of “racial justice.” They’re fighting back with lawsuits and challengers for two school board seats in an election that finishes May 1.

Carroll Independent School District of Southlake is the top-achieving school district in Texas. It has no racial achievement gaps, which is nearly unheard of. That’s because Southlake attracts high-achieving families of all races.

The local median income is more than four times the national average and poverty there is statistically nonexistent. According to district data, “microaggressions,” bullying, and racially charged incidents happen approximately three times per month in the district of 8,500 students, meaning they involve 0.3 percent of students a year.

Yet, beginning in 2018, the district rushed into an eye-popping “cultural competence” plan after two videos of students singing the n-word along with rappers went viral on social media. Media outlets went nuts on the story, and so did local school board meetings, where sometimes-crying taxpayers, parents, and students spent hours insisting their lives have been forever damaged by the kind of “institutional racism” in Southlake illustrated by the rap sing-alongs.

They weren’t complaining that rappers stud songs with racial slurs, or that parents let their kids listen to such music. They were complaining about things like teasing and graffiti. They demanded the school district end such annoyances, and even treat them like crimes, or be convicted in the court of public opinion of enabling “institutional racism.”

Editorial Argues That We Don’t Actually Have Gun Control

People who write for a living aren’t required to be knowledgeable on the subjects they write about. That doesn’t stop most of them from writing about stuff like gun control, though. They do it all the time.

In fairness, there are plenty who don’t think I know what I’m talking about most of the time either, so what can you do?

Regardless, though, sometimes someone gets so far out of their lane that it’s almost comedic. Other times, not so much.

I’m not really sure which time this one is.

John Kerry Wants To Kill All The Plants.

Kill the plants! That’s what John Kerry advocated for during today’s global climate summit lecture fest.

Joe Biden declared this morning that SCIENCE IS BACK!

Uh huh. Let’s have the U.S. cut MORE emissions while China laughs in the background. Let’s have the U.S. host a global climate summit that end up resembling a gong show due to all the technical difficulties.

But science baby! It’s back! Never mind that screeching harpy Greta Thunberg blames the U.S. for its role in emissions when India, China, and Russia are the world’s leading culprits, the SCIENCE is clear!!

If we don’t achieve 50% emissions decrease within the next few years, we are all doomed. So, how do we get there?

“By 2030, half the country’s electricity would come from renewable sources such as wind, solar or hydropower, up from one-fifth today.

New natural gas plants would largely be built with technology that can capture carbon dioxide, instead of releasing it into the atmosphere — technology that is still in its infancy.

Virtually all of the 200 remaining coal plants would shut down unless they, too, can capture their emissions and bury them underground.

By 2030, two-thirds of new cars and S.U.V.s sold would be battery-powered, up from roughly 2 percent today.

All new buildings would be heated by electricity rather than natural gas.

The nation’s cement, steel and chemical industries would adopt stringent new energy-efficiency targets.

Oil and gas producers would slash emissions of methane, a potent heat-trapping gas, by 60 percent.

The nation’s forests would expand, and farming practices would be reworked, so that they pull 20 percent more carbon dioxide out of the air than they do today.”

Oh. Is that all? Read item two again. Then read the last item. Now let’s listen to John Kerry. Don’t whine, it’ll be over quick.

I’ll admit it, I laughed so hard at this. First of all, what Kerry said is the very epitome of junk science. Secondly, he did so with all the lemmings nodding their head while he sits in front of a …PLANT display!

Refer again to the “ideas” list above, then listen to John Kerry again. Add more forests, but get rid of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere! The dude needs a refresher in biology!

Exactly! To be exact:

“Carbon dioxide is a gas consisting of one part carbon and two parts oxygen. It is one of the most important gases on the earth because plants use it to produce carbohydrates in a process called photosynthesis. Since humans and animals depend on plants for food, photosynthesis inecessary for the survival of life on earth. [Emphasis Added]”

Fresh air, air that helps plants GROW so that we can use them for food, warmth, and shelter is necessary to the Earth’s survival. It’s hugely necessary for OUR survival. To be sure, as the push grows for more air tight energy efficient buildings (which take fresh air away from us), carbon dioxide INSIDE our homes, hospitals, and businesses is and should be a real concern.

Yet Kerry is advocating for killing all the plants by taking CO2 out of our atmosphere.

Does he want this plant to freeze? Evidently so. But hey! Once all the plant, animal, and human life is gone, we won’t have to deal with climate activists wheeling cute pink wheelbarrows loaded with cow manure around will we?

BLUF:
Newsflash for Joe Biden:
You don’t decide whether or not Americans celebrate Independence Day.

Joe Biden Thinks He Decides Whether We Can Celebrate Independence Day With Family and Friends
“To celebrate our independence from this virus on July 4th with family and friends in small groups, we still have more to do in the months of May and June.”

In March, Joe Biden told America that if we all behave and wear masks, maybe we would be allowed to gather in small groups on the fourth of July.

Now he is warning that we might not have behaved well enough to celebrate our freedom.

Remember when Democrats and the media called Trump a fascist? Good times.

Steven Nelson writes at the New York Post:

Biden warns if Americans don’t get COVID jabs they might have to cancel July 4

President Biden on Wednesday warned Americans they may have to cancel “small” outdoor gatherings on the Fourth of July if there’s a slowdown of COVID-19 vaccinations.

“I’m gonna stab the ‘Ef’ outta you b!+c# !” is a stupid thing to be yelling when a cop sees you holding a knife, then go lunge at someone. Also notice; the cop was already in the process of drawing, probably when he first saw the knife.

Joe Biden Needs a Dose of Reality—No One Needs His Permission to Celebrate the 4th of July.

President Biden says that if more of you rubes don’t go get a jab in the arm, he may not allow you to have three people over, masked and outside, on the 4th of July. Or whatever ridiculous configuration the health bureaucracy decides to tell you is “safe.” Perhaps liberals in New York, Los Angeles, Washington, D.C., and San Francisco are still taking these proclamations seriously. Nobody else is.

“Back on March 11, I outlined a vision of what America could look like by the Fourth of July — an America that was much closer to normal life that we left behind more than a year ago,” Biden said.

He warned: “To celebrate our independence from this virus on July 4th with family and friends in small groups, we still have more to do in the months of May and June. We all need to mask up until the number of cases goes down, until everyone has a chance to get their shot.”

To be clear, not everyone is getting the vaccine. The phrasing should always be “until everyone who wants to receive a vaccine has the opportunity.” Biden and ghouls like Dr. Fauci do not seem to understand that you can be pro-vaccine and think the speed and efficacy with which they were developed is a miracle while making a personal risk-assessed decision, in conjunction with your doctor, not to receive one.

Well, BLM is a Marxist/Communist led revolutionary organization, and their old axiom is that ‘you have to break a few eggs to make an omelet’. Murder to them is just one facet of the deal.

Murder rates soar dramatically in cities after BLM protests with up to 6,000 extra deaths nationwide — massively outweighing the decline in police shootings, researcher finds.

A researcher has found that cities that had Black Lives Matter protests saw a significant decrease in police homicides, but a huge overall increase in murders.

Travis Campbell, an economics PhD candidate at the University of Massachusetts, published his findings in a recent pre-print study ⇐link to paper] examining the impact of BLM protests on police use-of-force incidents.

His analysis, which is still undergoing peer-review, found that cities with BLM protests had 15 to 20 percent fewer police homicides than expected if the protests had not taken place, equating to 300 fewer police killings nationwide over five years.

But, in a revised unpublished version shared with DailyMail.com, Campbell finds that cities with BLM protests also saw a 10 percent increase in murders overall, equaling 1,000 to 6,000 additional murders nationwide.

Happy Groundhog Day!

Happy Groundhog Day Earth Day everybody! You can see how it is possible to confuse the two, since Earth Day is the same every year—we’re doomed unless you hand over complete power to the government to manage people and resources.

QED: On Earth Day 1970, CBS’s Walter Cronkite Panicked: ‘Act or Die!’

15 spectacularly stupid predictions from the first Earth Day

Keep these predictions in mind when you hear the same predictions made today. They’ve been making the same predictions for 51 years. And they’re going to continue making them until…well…forever, or  until people finally get fed up enough with them and get out the tar and feathers, if not something more ‘permanent’.

New Argument From The Left: “Knife Fights” No Big Deal

I hate the phrase “gun violence prevention,” because in my view, we should looking at ways to reduce violence in general. If we’re trying to save lives, does it matter if the killer used a gun, a knife, or a bowling ball?
>Apparently so, at least on the Left. While “gun violence” is a scourge that can only be treated by turning the right to keep and bear arms into a criminal offense, knife violence is just one of those things. Oh, it’s not that it’s completely unserious, but it’s certainly nothing that would require lethal force to be used to prevent someone from being stabbed.

Of course, the incident in Columbus, Ohio that led to police fatally shooting a 16-year old girl wasn’t exactly a “knife fight” to begin with. From what we know so far, the only person who had a knife was the 16-year old who was shot, and the officer fired as she was preparing to stab another teenager.

None of that seems to matter to folks like President Obama’s national security advisor Valerie Jarrett, however.

AOC Introduces a New and Improved Green New Deal.

With Representative Ocasio-Cortez reintroducing her Green New Deal bill and Joe Biden pledging to halve carbon emissions in the U.S. in less than 10 years, and after the “Climate Summit” goes virtual on April 22, America is going to be so green we’ll be mistaken for an artichoke.

There’s no time to lose. The earth is doomed unless we stop poisoning our atmosphere with the exhalation of so many politicians and world leaders. If they stopped and held their breath for a day or two, we’d be carbon neutral in a jiffy.

It’s too bad that’s not a real solution, but we’d at least be spared the ministrations of AOC and her climate police who are chomping at the bit to upend the lives of 300 million people.

“We’re going to transition to a 100 percent carbon free-economy, that is more unionized, more just, more dignified and guarantees more health care and housing than we ever have before,” Ocasio-Cortez said at a press conference overlooking the National Mall. “Do we intend on sending a message to the Biden administration that we need to go bigger and bolder? The answer is absolutely yes.”

If we’re more “dignified,” does that mean I have to wear a shirt around the house?

John Boehner Says Gun Control Would Be Top Priority ‘if’ He Were Speaker

Former House Speaker John Boehner (R) indicated Sunday that gun control would be a top priority “if” he were Speaker now.

During an interview on CNN’s State of the Union, Boehner focused on what he thinks is the importance of reaching across the aisle.

The segment began with CNN’s Dana Bash claiming there have been “47 mass shootings in the United States in just over the last month.”

Bash provided no substantiation for the claim of 47 mass shootings. Instead, she just looked at Boehner and said, “Polls show that vast majorities of Americans support at least some new gun restrictions.”

She then noted that gun control was not passed after Sandy Hook when Boehner was Speaker, and asked if gun control would be a “top priority” now, were he Speaker again.

Boehner expressed hope that Republicans and Democrats will find “common ground” and affirmed it would be top priority “if” he were Speaker.

Breitbart News pointed to a Rasmussen Poll that showed 51 percent of likely voters believed more gun control would have have prevented the March 22, 2021, Boulder attack.

On April 15, 2021, Breitbart News reported a McLaughlin poll showing 72 percent of general election voters support the Second Amendment.

The McLaughlin poll also showed 73.4 percent of general election voters agreed that “the Founders understood the importance of law-abiding citizens right to legally own firearms for things like hunting, sport and personal protection.”

China may send peacekeeping force to Afghanistan after US troops leave, observers say

Beijing may consider sending a peacekeeping force to Afghanistan if the security situation in the South Asian country poses a threat to the neighbouring Chinese province of Xinjiang after American troops pull out, analysts said.
US President Joe Biden said on Wednesday that he would withdraw all remaining US troops – about 2,500 – from Afghanistan by September 11, the 20th anniversary of the terrorist attack in New York.
The withdrawal may pose a threat to Afghanistan’s security and stability, which could spill over into Xinjiang and disrupt China’s counterterrorism efforts.
In 2018, China trained Afghan troops and helped set up a mountain brigade. The training took place in China and the aim of the brigade was to counter possible attacks by al-Qaeda and Islamic State.
“The security forces of the Afghan government are not capable of ensuring Afghan security,” said Sun Qi, an international relations specialist at the Shanghai Academy of Social Sciences.
“The situation in Afghanistan might go further into chaos in the future. Cross-border crime, drug trafficking and smuggling of firearms may proliferate,” he said. Continue reading “”

Is the Army Going to Extremes Over Extremism?

Recently, the United States Army Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) created the first-ever Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer position and ordered the Army Extremism Safety Stand-Down. These two measures meant to address what frankly very few within the ranks saw as an issue amongst their peers.

With no clearly defined mission and with absolute abruptness, these D&I officers were shoe-horned into the command structures of units Army-wide, specifically into USSOCOM subordinate units.

The first to hold the failed USSOCOM Diversity and Inclusion Officer position was Mr. Richard Torres-Estrada. He was supposed to be USSOCOM’s slam dunk to appease the ever-growing appetite for the woke social media criteria in today’s military.

Torres-Estrada’s tenure was short-lived. His diversity and inclusion beliefs made their way onto his social media accounts. They revealed him to be a Left Wing ideologue rather than a political moderate — which you would think would be a good idea for anyone you hire to promote things like diversity and inclusion.

Within hours of his appointment, his beliefs were discovered and made public. Within days, USSOCOM spokesman Ken McGraw made the statement, “USSOCOM is aware of the situation, and the command has initiated an investigation.”

McGraw then followed up with a less than meaningful, yet very common, statement to cover for higher-ranked leaders. Torres-Estrada has been reassigned to other duties pending the results of the investigation.

The soldiers wanted to know why this position was created in the first place.

At WWDC, Tim Cook takes a moment to talk about Black Lives Matter and coronavirus

Apple CEO Tim Cook kicked off this year’s Worldwide Developers Conference addressing two major events affecting the world at the moment: the Black Lives Matter movement and the worldwide conronavirus pandemic.

Cook said Monday that it’s time for the US to “aim higher to build a future that lives up to our ideals” of equality — and to take action. He highlighted Apple’s Racial Equity and Justice Initiative, which will distribute $100 million to “challenge systemic barriers that limit opportunity for communities of color in the critical areas of education, economic equality and criminal justice.” ……….

On Apple’s website:

Apple launches major new Racial Equity and Justice Initiative projects to challenge systemic racism, advance racial equity nationwide

Apple today announced a set of major new projects as part of its $100 million Racial Equity and Justice Initiative (REJI) to help dismantle systemic barriers to opportunity and combat injustices faced by communities of color. These forward-looking and comprehensive efforts include the Propel Center, a first-of-its-kind global innovation and learning hub for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs); an Apple Developer Academy to support coding and tech education for students in Detroit; and venture capital funding for Black and Brown entrepreneurs. Together, Apple’s REJI commitments aim to expand opportunities for communities of color across the country and to help build the next generation of diverse leaders.

You might wonder what that $100 million dollars bought them?

White House press sec defends Chinese Communist Party talking points about ‘racist America’

In a press briefing Friday, White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki was asked by reporters about a comment made by UN Ambassador for the United States Linda Thomas-Greenfield earlier this week that said US founding principles were “woven with white supremacy.”

“The US Ambassador to the UN Linda Thomas-Greenfield, talking to a group on Wednesday, said that white supremacy is woven into our founding documents and principals. This statement is getting widely criticized as essentially parroting Chinese communist party talking points. So is the President going to remove her from her position as the representative before that body to promote United States values?” a reporter asked Psaki.

“Is the president going to remove an African American woman with decades of experience in the foreign service who’s widely respected around the world from her position as ambassador to the UN?”

Psaki shot back at the reporter. “He is not.” “He is proud to have her in that position,” Psaki continued. “She is not only qualified, he believed she is exactly the right person in that role at this moment in time.”

Despite not having seen her comments, Psaki appeared to agree with Thomas-Greenfield’s statement.
“I have not seen her comments, I will say that there’s no question that there has been a history of institutional racism in this country and that doesn’t require the UN ambassador to confirm that.”
“Does the president think our founding documents are racist?” asked the reporter.

“I would say that I will leave my comments to speak for themselves and certainly I think most people recognize the history of systemic racism in our country and she was speaking to that,” Psaki said seemingly dodging the question.
In a statement released Wednesday, Thomas-Greenfield said “When we raise issues of equity and justice at the global scale we have to approach them with humility… We have to acknowledge that we are an imperfect union and have been since the beginning and every day we strive to make ourselves more perfect.”

Thomas-Greenfield also spoke to her past experiences with racism and how she has seen “how the original sin of slavery weaved white supremacy into our founding documents and principles.”

There’s a difference between ‘can do’ and ‘should do’, and some people, supposedly very smart people, apparently don’t know how to determine that.

Scientists grow human-monkey chimeric embryos in lab.

April 15 (UPI) — After injecting human stem cells into primate embryos, scientists were able to grow and maintain human-monkey chimeric embryos for up to 20 days.

The international research team, including geneticists in China and the United States, detailed their breakthrough in a new paper, published Thursday in the journal Cell.

Scientists suggest human-monkey chimeric embryos can be used to build models for studying human biology and disease.

“As we are unable to conduct certain types of experiments in humans, it is essential that we have better models to more accurately study and understand human biology and disease,” senior study author Juan Carlos Izpisua Belmonte, an expert in pluripotent stem cells who operates a lab at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies in California, said in a news release. “An important goal of experimental biology is the development of model systems that allow for the study of human diseases under in vivo conditions.”

The research builds on previous successes achieved by Izpisua Belmonte and his research partners in China. The team first successfully created human-monkey chimeric embryos a few years ago, keeping them alive for only a few days.
