Hypocrisy O’ The Day

Medicine for me, but not for thee.

Jim Geraghty notes, “At this hour, despite the governor declaring that everyone in the state must listen to God and do as God wants, there is no complaint from Americans United for Separation of Church and State.”

Watch: NY Gov. Kathy Hochul Proclaims Unvaccinated People ‘Aren’t Listening to God.’

COVID-19 vaccines are ‘from God to us,’ N.Y. governor tells Brooklyn megachurch.

New York Gov. Hochul tells Christian worshippers: ‘God wants you to be vaccinated.’

NY Gov. Hochul says vaccines are ‘from God,’ sends out her own ‘apostles’ to push jabs.

BLUF:
This is another example of “rules for thee but not for me.” If “The Squad” truly believed defunding the police was a good idea, they wouldn’t hire off-duty cops for self-protection. ……….It’s time for them to sit down, shut up, and put their money where their mouth is. They should have to live like the rest of us, even if they are in the public eye.

No Surprise: ‘Squad’ Members Pay the Most in Private Security While Working to Abolish the Police

Over the last few years, “The Squad” – comprised of Congresswomen Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ilhan Omar (D-MN), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), and Cori Bush (D-MO) – have worked to “defund the police.” Although they continually say stupid things, like they want to “reimagining” what policing in the United States looks like, the reality is simple: they want to do away with law enforcement agencies across the country.

Americans across the country rely on two things to keep themselves and their families safe: law enforcement and/or their Second Amendment rights. When an emergency takes place, most people call 911 and know at least one law enforcement officer will be there to help them in their time of need.

What’s amazing – although not surprising – is “The Squad” wants to do away with emergency services for you and me. But that decision wouldn’t impact them. In fact, the five women have spent a large sum of money on local law enforcement officers for private security. That’s right. Our lives aren’t worth protecting but theirs are.

But the real kicker? They spent more than any other House members on private security.

The New York Post broke down their security costs:

In the two months between April 15 and June 28, Bush spent nearly $70,000 of her campaign funds on personal security, the most of any House lawmaker. That’s almost $20,000 above the median household income for residents in her district, which covers St. Louis and adjacent communities. Bush, who often wears a Black Lives Matter or a “Y’All Gone Stop Killing Us!” t-shirt, says she believes defunding the police would prevent the deaths of people like Michael Brown and Breonna Taylor. But it’s unclear who would stop the killing that would then ensue. Of the 130 homicide victims in St. Louis so far this year, half of whose residents are African-American, all but ten victims were African-American (98 men and 22 women). The vast majority of these involved firearms — not one fired by a police officer.

Almost 3 TIMES MORE than by rifles.
The morons are clueless hypocrites.

Pop Star Grimes Brings Sword ‘Crafted from a Colt AR-15′ to Met Gala

Grimes, the experimental musical artist and mother to Elon Musk’s youngest child, brought a sword “crafted from a Colt AR-15” to the Met Gala on September 13, 2021, as a fashion accessory.

USA Today explained that Grimes, née Claire Elise Boucher, carried “a sword accessory made of melted guns.”

The singer-producer said, “It’s from these people who are getting people’s [guns] who don’t want to have their automatic rifles anymore, and are melting them down and making them perfect replicas of medieval swords, which I think is just so cool—I think it’s a beautiful thing.”

Photos of Grimes’ outfit show an inscription on the blade of the sword, which reads: “Crafted from a Colt-AR-15A3.”

Detail of previous photo.

The blade also bears the logo of MSCHF, an art collective, and its Guns2Swords project. The Guns2Swords homepage explains, “We’re destroying your guns and forging them into swords.”

The site instructs potential customers to either send the artists a description of a gun that they would like to be reshaped — or pay $5,000 for a sword that the group has already made from a gun.

The Met Gala is an annual gathering known for its over-the-top fashion from Hollywood celebrities and other elites. The 2021 event featured similarly clownish political statements, including Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) in a Chick-fil-A-evoking “Tax the Rich” dress and soccer activist Megan Rapinoe flaunting a clutch reading “In Gay We Trust.”

Further hypocrisy was on display during the evening, as the celebrity guests were allowed to disregard New York City’s indoor mask mandate — yet the commoners staffing the gala still had to wear masks.

ACLU: Forced vaccine passports is a win for civil liberties
“We care deeply about civil liberties and civil rights for all – which is precisely why we support vaccine mandates.”

Forcing people to use vaccine passports to access everyday freedoms is apparently protecting their civil liberties, according to the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU). The organization’s opinion was, for obvious reasons, criticized as part of its continued recent decline into politicalization and moving away from values it once supported.

The ACLU expressed its controversial opinion in an op-ed in The New York Times. According to the civil liberties groups, there is permissibility for COVID-19 vaccine passport mandates because: “The disease is highly transmissible, serious and often lethal; the vaccines are safe and effective; and crucially there is no equally effective alternative available to protect public health.”

The ACLU added: “In fact, far from compromising civil liberties, vaccine mandates actually further civil liberties. They protect the most vulnerable among us, including people with disabilities and fragile immune systems, children too young to be vaccinated and communities of color hit hard by the disease.”

All of a sudden having to have a photo ID is not racist

Photo ID and vaccine passport required by Mayor de Blasio to move freely in New York City
New Yorkers will now have to show photo IDs in order to engage in public life. Along with proof of vaccination, the mayor said “Whatever works, all you have to do is show that proof and have ID as well.”

New Yorkers will now have to show photo IDs in order to engage in public life. Along with proof of vaccination, the mayor said “Whatever works, all you have to do is show that proof and have ID as well.”
“And it’s easy, all you have to do is show proof of vaccination — that could be a CDC paper card, that could be an Excelsior Pass, an NYC COVID Safe app, whatever works,” de Blasio said. “All you got to do is show that proof and have ID as well, and it’s straightforward.”
Mayor Bill de Blasio’s new “Key to NYC” vaccine passport is now be required for entry into everything from gyms to museums to restaurants, but the passes are also required to be accompanied by a photo ID. Even those New Yorkers willing to pony up their CDC vaccination cards or app-based vaccination verification will need further proof to show they are who they say they are.

‘Stupid is as Stupid does’

Scoop: Investigation finds fired Tennessee vaccine official mailed dog muzzle to self.

A Tennessee investigation found evidence that the state’s fired vaccine chief, Michelle Fiscus, purchased a dog muzzle that she previously claimed someone had mailed in an attempt to intimidate her.

Why it matters: Fiscus, who denied sending herself the muzzle in a Monday tweet, has characterized her firing as a political move driven by Republican state officials after she shared a memo citing state law about whether adolescents can seek medical care, including a COVID vaccine, without their parents’ permission.

  • Fiscus and her husband, Brad, had said in multiple interviews, including with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, that the muzzle was sent anonymously to her state office through Amazon shortly before her firing.
  • “Someone wanted to send a message to tell her to stop talking, they thought it would be a threat to her,” Brad Fiscus told the Tennessean.

Details: The Tennessee Department of Safety & Homeland Security found through a subpoena that the Amazon package containing the muzzle traced back to a credit card in Fiscus’ name, according to an investigation report obtained by Axios.

  • When asked by investigators, Fiscus provided information for an Amazon account in her name. It was a different account than the one used to purchase the muzzle.
  • The investigation concluded that “the results of this investigation that purchases from both Amazon accounts were charged to the same American Express credit card in the name of Dr. Michelle D. Fiscus.”
  • Fiscus told investigators she felt the muzzle was a threat and she should “stop talking about vaccinating people.” The investigation was launched after health department official Paul Peterson alerted the Department of Safety about the apparent threat to Fiscus.

The backdrop: Fiscus was fired amid criticism from Republican lawmakers who were upset about the health department’s efforts to convince teenagers to get the COVID-19 vaccine.

  • Republican lawmakers criticized Fiscus on multiple fronts, highlighting a memo she sent explaining how providers in Tennessee could vaccinate some teenage patients without a parent’s approval.
  • The health department released a memo last month stating Fiscus was fired for poor interpersonal communication skills, ineffective management and attempting to steer state money to a nonprofit she founded.
  • Fiscus denied the allegations in the memo and shared years of sterling performance evaluations. She claims she was fired for attempting to do her job well.

What they’re saying: In a statement distributed by her husband, Fiscus said she was not aware of the report until Axios shared it.

  • “We have now learned that a second Amazon account had been established under my name using what appears to be a temporary phone, possibly in Washington state,” Fiscus said.
  • “I have asked Homeland Security for the unredacted report so that I can investigate further and am awaiting their response,” she added.
  • Fiscus did not discuss the use of the American Express card in her name.

The neo-feudalism of Obama’s maskless ball.

I lost my invitation and, besides, the pilot of my private plane was on holiday, so I had to miss the intimate, scaled-back get-together that Barack Obama convened to celebrate his 60th year gracing our planet with his awesomeness.

I didn’t feel too badly, though — no paralyzing waves of ‘FOMO’ — because all my friends in the media made me feel I was almost there. There were all those leaked snaps and videos, for one thing, showing the Prez dance-dance-dancing the night away, nary a mask in sight.

In truth, that was the one thing I liked about this obscene, Gatsby-esque spectacle. The Obamas, and presumably their guests, had been vaccinated. They therefore knew that they were not at any meaningful risk of contracting THE WORST DISEASE SINCE THE BLACK DEATH — I mean, the nasty little respiratory virus bequeathed to a grateful world by the ChiComs. They just weren’t, and neither are you — always assuming you are vaccinated and under the age of, say, 80.

The only thing that would have made this aspect of Obama’s Feast of Trimalchio more delicious would have been a couple of candid snaps of St Anthony Fauci doing the twist with Chrissy Teigen. Maybe the Daily Mail will eventually come through on that.

Let’s just set the record straight on a couple of matters. When it was first revealed that His Highness was planning this illustration of Thorstein Veblen’s thesis about conspicuous consumption, there were some plangent noises among the patter of adulation. Four hundred guests and 200 peons — er, servants? A teensy bit over the top, Barack?  So the Obamas said they scaled it back — look it up: it was all over the court press. But it is clear that they didn’t. Possibly, the Cuomo Bros had their invitations yanked, but that was only because — Ecce Cuomo — shares in Cuomo preferred had just taken a sharp dive. This, incidentally, provided a good illustration of the irrationality of this part of the market. Stock in the Cuomo Mafia deserves to be rated a zero — bankruptcy time — but not because Andrew is the Luv Gov and can’t keep his pinky off the pink bits of the ladies. That’s what the media outrage machine would have you believe. But the real reason he deserves to go can be adduced in the number 15,000, approximately the number people whose deaths he caused by forcing nursing homes to take patients suffering from COVID. Anyway, the ‘root cause’ of Cuomo’s defenestration is the threat he poses — make that ‘posed’ — as a possible alternative to the gibbering, geriatric wing of the Democratic party going forward.

The second thing that needs to be corrected is the calumny that the Obamas occupy a pad worth $11-$12 million on Martha’s Vineyard. In fact, that 30-acre estate is worth about three to four times that much, but some lingering sense of propriety (I won’t call it shame) caused them or their PR flaks to lowball the assessment.

All in all, the Obama Odeon was an excellent illustration of Joel Kotkin’s thesis in The Coming of Neo-Feudalism: A Warning to the Global Middle Class. Western societies, above all American society, is lapsing back into a sort of stratified, feudal arrangement with some a tiny hyper-rich elite at the top and a vast pool of ‘deplorables’ kept in check by the police power of the state — what Joe Biden memorably apostrophized as ‘F-15s and some nuclear weapons’. Mediating the two like a layer of fat is a sort of clerisy that is treated to varying crumbs from the table as it explains, flatters, and cajoles.

There is a lot to be repelled by in the Spectacle of Barack Obama’s exercise in brazen self-indulgence, also a lot to be angry at.
I think it is important, though, to look at it as a learning experience. Pretend you were Aesop. What moral would you draw from this exercise in exhibitionism?

Doubtless there are several learning experiences to be had. But I thought that Rep. Jim Jordan perfectly articulated an important lesson in a tweet.  Now we know, he wrote, that

#COVID19 spreads at:

-Church
-School
-Trump rallies
-Motorcycle rallies

It doesn’t spread at:

-“Peaceful” protests
-The southern border
-Democrat wedding receptions
-San Francisco hair salons
-Governor Newsom’s dinner
-President Obama’s birthday party’

Really, I hadn’t know that before and I am grateful for the enlightenment.

The econutz say the best way to save the earth from impending doom is to live in a cave without selfish things like clean water, refrigeration, or electricity.

That is unless you’re His Royal Highness Climate Czar John Kerry, then you can fly all over the world to tell people how evil they are for not recycling and not trading your gas guzzler minicar for a electric moped.

Kerry family private jet has taken 16 flights this year alone, records show

The private jet belonging to climate czar John Kerry’s family has taken more than a dozen flights this year, according to records obtained from Flight Aware.

In total, the private jet tied to President Biden’s point person in the effort to lower greenhouse gas emissions took 16 flights since January — raising questions about how much his family contributed to the problem.

Many of these flights occurred within Massachusetts, including Martha’s Vineyard and Boston International Airport. At least two flights took place between Massachusetts and New Jersey.

A State Department spokesperson for Kerry told Fox News: “Secretary Kerry travels commercially or via military air in his role as Special Presidential Envoy for Climate.” The spokesperson later confirmed to Fox News that Kerry himself wasn’t on any of the flights noted for this year. They did not respond to an inquiry as to whether he and his wife continued to benefit financially from Flying Squirrel LLC. That’s the name the name previously reported for Teresa Heinz-Kerry’s private charter jet company and the registered owner listed on the Federal Aviation Administration’s website.

Kerry’s 2021 financial disclosure recorded Flying Squirrel LLC under the section for “Spouse’s Employment Assets & Income and Retirement Accounts.” It “FLYING SQUIRREL, LLC – 12/31/2020” with a value “Over $1,000,000.”

Democrats Don’t Need Masks Because They’re Better Than You

We’re still learning about COVID-19 and how it spreads, but one of its more unusual properties is that it doesn’t seem to affect people with political opinions preferred by our moral, ethical, and intellectual betters in the press. It’s the first virus in the history of the world that votes Democrat.

Let’s say you’re in a crowded place with a bunch of people, and you’re worried that you might be in the middle of what has come to be known as a “superspreader event.” Well, maybe you are, maybe you aren’t. It depends. Are you attending something frivolous and stupid, like a football game or a motorcycle rally or a speech by a Republican? Or are you participating in something politically important and socially just, like a race riot?

The virus knows. It knows what you’re doing and why you’re doing it, and it only punishes people who don’t read The Atlantic or listen to NPR.

If you can recite a MyPillow ad from memory, you need to wear a mask when you’re told to wear a mask. But if you can pick Lin-Manuel Miranda out of a lineup, you don’t have anything to worry about. That’s how COVID-19 works. That’s just the settled science.

It’s 2021, people. If you want to go out for dinner with family and friends, or take your kids to the zoo, or do any of the other things that were once commonplace, first you need to ask yourself one crucial question: “Am I a prominent Democrat politician?”

The utter open hypocrisy of this Kabuki Theater is simply stunning.
For the entire length of the Trump presidency they were all adamant in their hate of all things Trump, calling his election illegitimate because it didn’t go their way. It again confirms that when they make an accusation, they’re projecting their own faults.

If the Trump WH Ever Gave an Answer Like This, The Press Would Have Had a Total Meltdown

It’s an old game, but one that never loses its entertainment value. How would the media react if Donald Trump or his White House staff gave this answer on this, that, or the other? You all know the answer. It would be a total meltdown. Not since reactor four in Chernobyl exploded would we see such an outburst of energy from the press. How this was irresponsible, a dark day, and maybe a constitutional crisis—the latter is a new favorite term the Left uses when discussing the Trump presidency. The reloading of this little game comes as Biden White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki said that COVID vaccination was not mandatory with staffers last Thursday (via Fox News):

The Biden administration is not mandating COVID-19 vaccines for White House staff, press secretary Jen Psaki said Friday.

During the White House press briefing … Psaki suggested that every White House official had been offered a COVID-19 vaccine, but clarified Friday that the White House was not requiring officials to be vaccinated.

“No, we have not mandated it,” Psaki responded, after being asked whether the administration was mandating White House staff receive a coronavirus vaccine.

Psaki did not provide a specific number of how many White House officials have been vaccinated against the novel coronavirus, but said that they are able to track the number of individuals on the president’s staff because “they are vaccinated here in the White House medical unit.”

If the Trump White House said the exact same thing, the follow-ups would be about leading by example and why are they trying to kill people; I hate our press corps. Yet, they do, from time to time, have good moments. So, who got infected? Who has COVID? We know someone might have been since Psaki doesn’t want to say if there have been any breakthrough COVID infections among the White House staff, which are rare. Now, that’s a good question since an aide to Nancy Pelosi, who was vaccinated, tested positive after meeting with COVID-infested Texas Democrats who fled their state in an attempt to block the passage of a voter integrity bill. Why doesn’t she want to answer that? Even Psaki was taken aback by why a reporter wanted that information. It’s because of transparency.

Kamala Harris also met with the COVID-infected Texas Democrats. Does she, have it? Maybe. I don’t know. Mr. “America is Back” and his White House are clamming up about that. If Trump’s White House gave this answer, more impeachment talk would have come up. If we’ve learned anything from Democrats, especially this COVID-plagued lot from Texas, it’s that they should shut their faces about being responsible during a pandemic for the next 1,000 years.

“…outrage over the hypocrisy of allowing border crossers by land but not those who are seeking asylum for real reasons by sea.” ?

This is easy to understand. Mexicans in California tend to vote Demoncrap while Cubans in south Florida tend to vote Republican.

‘Outrageous:’ Mayorkas Blasted for Vowing to Reject Asylum-seeking Haitians, Cubans.

Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas vowed the United States will reject any Haitian or Cuban attempting to enter the country by boat, even if they have demonstrated a credible fear of being persecuted in their home countries.

“Allow me to be clear: if you take to the sea, you will not come to the United States,” Mayorkas said.

The warning comes as Cuban authorities are cracking down on demonstrators after massive protests erupted in the country over the weekend. At least 100 people are missing or have been arrested so far. In Haiti, the nation has been rocked by turmoil after President Jovenel Moise was assassinated last week.

Mayorkas fled Cuba with his parents in 1960 after Fidel Castro’s communist takeover of the country, a point he spoke about when President Biden nominated him to lead DHS.

“When I was very young, the United States provided my family and me a place of refuge,” Mayorkas tweeted. “Now, I have been nominated to be the DHS Secretary and oversee the protection of all Americans and those who flee persecution in search of a better life for themselves and their loved ones.”

But on Tuesday, Mayorkas said those attempting to make it to the U.S. by sea will be stopped by the Coast Guard and returned to their countries.

“If individuals make, establish a well-founded fear of persecution or torture, they are referred to third countries for resettlement,” Mayorkas said, reports CBS News. “They will not enter the United States.”

Hypocrite: After Rejecting Help From Trump, Lightfoot Asks Biden to Send Federal Troops to Chicago

In the wake of a deadly Independence Day weekend, Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot has asked Joe Biden to send federal troops to her city to help control the violence.

“At least 108 people were shot in Chicago over the long Independence Day weekend, including two police officers; children, including 5- and 6-year-old girls; and a group of six people early Monday in the Washington Park neighborhood — where a man was killed hours later in an unrelated shooting,” reports the Chicago Tribune.

But when President Trump offered to send federal troops to Chicago to do exactly what Lightfoot is requesting now, she flatly rejected it.

“‘Troops’ are forces that come from the military and obviously that is not what is needed in Chicago,” Lightfoot said in a statement shared to Twitter last summer. “I have made it clear that we do not need nor want troops – or any unnamed federal officers that we’ve seen in news reports from Portland.  I am confident that I’ve made that point crystal-clear on your behalf.”
