It will be interesting to watch in the days and weeks ahead if the tolerance for this activity by the Democrat politicians in Portland and Seattle remains what it has been, or if they finally decide that the toll it is taking on their police and city budgets is too much.  I expect we’ll see the media narrative on these “protests” begin to shift in the weeks ahead.

It is also important to note that the Trump crowd in 2017 was totally normal, comparable to every past public inauguration since such events became occasions of grand splendor.

For Democrat Joe Biden, however, the lack of a crowd is essentially unprecedented. While past inaugurations were greeted with large enthusiastic crowds of citizens coming to celebrate the democratic and peaceful transition of power, today’s event was heralded by wartime security, barbed wire fences, military checkpoints, and a military police guard of 25,000 troops. Biden officials claimed this tight security was necessary because of the threat of violence.

I ask however: If 80 million voters swarmed the polls on November 3rd to elect Joe Biden, why does his new administration feel so afraid of the American people? No president in the past was this terrified of taking his oath of office in front of a gigantic crowd. Even Abraham Lincoln did so before a huge crowd in 1865, even as the Civil War still raged, as the photo below shows most emphatically.

No, the inauguration of Joe Biden is something quite different than any past American transition of power. It comes surrounded by numerous allegations of election tampering and vote count fraud. A vast part of the population — quite likely the majority of the country — strongly believes the election was stolen, a belief that has been reinforced by the aggressive resistance of election boards and Democrats to investigate those allegations. That resistance has been so strong that the Democrats and their supporters have even made it their goal to blacklist and destroy anyone who even dares raise the question.

The tight security imposed on Biden’s election acts as proof that those allegations might very well carry weight. If Biden was truly elected legitimately, he would not feel the need to be surrounded by barbed wire and tens of thousands of soldiers, like any tinpot dictator. No, like Lincoln he would be able to nonchalantly walk through a crowd of fellow citizens, with everyone confident that the person the American people actually chose was now in office.

The military nature of Biden’s inauguration signals the end of American democracy in other ways. It is clearly a sign that the Washington swamp, having finally gotten rid of outsider Trump, is now telling us they will no longer tolerate further resistance to their power. That corrupt ruling class of bureaucrats can now wield the military against you if you dare oppose them, and today’s occupation of Washington was their way of proving this fact to everyone.

You will accept their rule, or you will face blacklisting, censorship, and even the sound of storm-troopers banging at your door, there to arrest you for wrong-think.

And if you doubt me, just give it time. The downward path to dictatorship by this Washington crowd has been steady and continuous since President Bill Clinton got away with perjury in the late 1990s. They will go there, mark my words.

What will Americans do in response? For myself, I tell them to go to hell. I will be a free American until the day I die, and if that means they come at me with guns because they don’t like what I write, so be it. It will only prove that I stand for freedom, and they for oppression.

There has been much discussion recently about whether Republicans will be able to move on from Trump, whether they will be able to give him up once he leaves the presidency. Perhaps the bigger question is whether Democrats will be able to do that. For Nancy Pelosi, the answer appears to be no.

TRUMP DERANGEMENT SYNDROME IN A POST-TRUMP WORLD. President Trump will become former President Trump tomorrow. When Joe Biden takes the oath of office, Democrats will control the White House, the House, and the Senate. An ambitious agenda lies ahead for the new Democratic administration. And yet there are signs that some Democrats’ obsession with Donald Trump — the condition known as Trump Derangement Syndrome, or TDS — will be as strong, or perhaps even stronger, after Trump leaves than when he was in the White House.

Exhibit A is the fact that Democrats plan to hold an impeachment trial for the president after he has left office. They plan to use the Constitution’s method for removing a president when the president is no longer president.

But that is not the only sign of lingering TDS. Look at a new conversation between House Speaker Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton, on Clinton’s podcast, “You and Me Both.” There was much to discuss about the Biden agenda, but you will not be surprised to learn that President Trump dominated the conversation. The two reached back into the Trump-Russia matter — what the president calls the “Russia hoax” — to call for yet another Trump investigation.

“I hope, historically, we will find out who [Trump is] beholden to, who pulls his strings,” Clinton said. “I would love to see his phone records to see whether he was talking to [Russian leader Vladimir] Putin the day that the insurgents invaded our Capitol.”

City’s Carjacking Surge Shows No Sign Of Slowing, So Residents Are Buying Guns

HYDE PARK — Carjackings have been on the rise in Chicago for more than a year. After a 135 percent jump in 2020, the trend is continuing with 61 carjackings reported in the first 10 days of 2021.

As city officials and police scramble to address the issue with meetings, City Council hearings and community alerts, some Chicagoans are taking matters into their own hands against the advice of law enforcement: They’re applying for concealed carry permits.

Kelly Milan, a Northwestern graduate student, was carjacked Friday morning in Hyde Park in front of William H. Ray Elementary School.

About 8 a.m., the budding journalist drove her 2014 Jeep Cherokee to the school, 5631 S. Kimbark Ave., to interview students for the Hyde Park Herald.

“I got out of my car and locked my car and was in the middle of the street when I saw a running car in the middle of the street,” Milan said. “Immediately, I thought something bad was going to happen. Then, two guys got out of the car. One guy made eye contact with me and started running towards me. I just started saying ’No, no, no, no, no’ and I winced because he was running towards me and I thought he was going to take me down.

“Then I started saying, ‘Please don’t hurt me, please don’t hurt me.’ He said, ‘Where are your keys?’ and forcibly went through all my pockets. He grabbed my keys and my phone. The other guy was just leaning by the car, watching it.

“I was begging for my life. It was really, really terrifying. You never think you’re going to be a victim of a carjacking, let alone one outside an elementary school at 8 a.m., but here we are and it’s happening.”

Milan’s story is not unique. Carjackings shot up 135 percent in 2020, with 1,415 reported that year compared to 603 in 2019, according to the Chicago Police Department. So far in 2021, carjackings are on a pace to break last year’s record with 61 happening over the first 10 days of the year, up from 22 during the same period in 2020.

Even Politico, one of the more leftist of leftist publications, is no longer covering up for Biden

On the eve of his inauguration, Politico published an article that contains a line about SloJoe’s lack of mental acuity.

For higher-profile remarks, [Biden would] obsessively rehearse portions until he committed them to memory. And at times through the various iterations of outlining remarks, Biden could grow downright ornery.

“I would never say this,” Biden once snapped at an aide, aghast over the prepared remarks he was reviewing, according to a person in the room during a speech prep session last year. “Where did you get this from?’”

The aide explained that Biden had just said it in a public speech a couple of weeks earlier.

Biden forgetting part of a stump speech is bad enough, but this is an incident that took place last year, but has only come out now. Biden’s handlers kept it under wraps until now. How many other examples of Biden’s mental state have been concealed?

The election is over. Trump is out of office. Biden’s senility is no longer taboo. His sole purpose was to play the role of an “electable” candidate who could appeal to independents and anti-Trump Republicans under that guise just to get Trump out of office.

I know of people taking bets on when he’ll be shuffled off the scene so Kamala’s handlers can take over.

WA Legislature Eyeballs Bills to Ban ‘Assault Weapons’

Almost as predicted by opponents of anti-gun Initiative 1639, the measure that among other things invented a definition for a “semiautomatic assault rifle,” anti-gun Democrats in the Washington Legislature have introduced legislation to ban so-called “assault weapons.”

I-1639 defined “semi-auto assault rifles” as literally any self-loading rifle, regardless of caliber (including rimfires) that has ever been manufactured anywhere in the world. Under the more specific definitions found in Senate Bill 5217 and its companion measure, House Bill 1229—both introduced at the request of anti-gun Democrat Attorney General Bob Ferguson—rimfires do not appear to be included. But semi-auto centerfire rifles are, and it’s quite a list. The legislation would also prohibit folding stocks and other accessories.

Both bills are now in committee. The House version is in the House Committee on Civil Rights and the Judiciary. The Senate version is in the Law & Justice Committee.

Two years ago, following passage of I-1639, Spokane County Sheriff Ozzie Knezovich told reporters the only reason to create the definition in state statute was to one day allow a move to ban such firearms.

I-1639 includes this definition:

“Semiautomatic assault rifle” means any rifle which utilizes a portion of the energy of a firing cartridge to extract the fired cartridge case and chamber the next round, and which requires a separate pull of the trigger to fire each cartridge.

Montana: Senate Judiciary to Vote on Permitless Carry Legislation Tomorrow

Tomorrow, the Senate Judiciary Committee is scheduled to consider Permitless Carry Legislation, House Bill 102.  Please contact committee members and ask that they SUPPORT House Bill 102.

House Bill 102 will strengthen Montana’s self-defense laws by allowing law-abiding Montana gun owners to carry a firearm for self-defense throughout the state without first having to obtain a government-mandated permit to do so.  Further, this bill will remove some of Montana’s “gun-free zones” from the list of prohibited places and stop the unnecessary disarming of Montanans as they go about their day-to-day lives.

Again, it is important that you please contact members of the Senate Judiciary Committee and ask them to SUPPORT House Bill 102.

ARL’s Combat Capabilities Development Command is teaming up with universities in North Carolina to develop studies in bio-hybrid robotics.

The idea is just as fantastical as you may be imagining. ARL wants to fuse living tissue with cold metal to build robots that may be able to gain the agility and versatility of living creatures.

Don’t neglect tedious arguments

This week’s column is quite short, but fear not, more lengthy analysis and discussion will be published in the near future. As the incoming president who has openly advocated for the implementation of horrific and unconstitutional gun laws prepares to take office, we can expect a renewed visibility of the gun control debate in American politics.

The legacy and new media establishments are not on our side, so if there is to be any progress in advancing a pro-gun narrative, it must be made by individuals. A recent video by Mrgunsngear discussed how the rise of social media has had a positive impact on sales of NFA items. Perhaps these sales were primarily to persons who would have been purchasing firearms regardless, but the point of the correlation is that speech, especially online, can still have real-world impacts.

I myself used to be deeply indoctrinated into the belief that all guns were bad, that gun owners were dangerous, and that the ownership of weapons should only be permitted after a lengthy and invasive process. How could I not be? My schools, the media, everyone, advanced the same narrative over and over until it became normalized. It was only through being able to hear others outside of those circles rebutting the arguments that had been drilled into my head that I was able to begin to change my perspective.

I also know from personal experience that some of the most frustrating conversations to have are with anti-gunners. As a general rule, those who oppose the right to keep and bear arms know nothing of firearms technology or history, very little of the philosophy of firearms ownership, and perhaps a few misleading statistics on the subject.

When debating with anti-gun individuals or those who claim to be “pro-Second Amendment, but…”, it is inevitable that there will be a repetition of the exact same arguments over and over. Oftentimes, you will not be able to win over someone deeply indoctrinated into the belief that citizens should be left defenseless and subject to the wills of common criminals and tyrants. However, winning over such opponents is not the purpose of debating, the purpose is winning over the audience.

Change is made on an individual level, and it is the onlookers capable of having their minds changed that are your target. On rare occasions, you might discuss the subject with someone open-minded who can be convinced that the government should not be infringing on the right to keep and bear arms, but even when you are not, it is crucial to press onward.

There are many who have surrendered to a defeatist perspective, coming to the conclusion that the cultural battle is lost, so we must simply place all of our eggs into the basket of legal action. While this position is understandable, it is also foolish and self-destructive. Those who wish to see us disarmed have pushed legislation incrementally over decades, infested cultural institutions, and refused to cease their onslaught despite the people’s protestations. Why should we be any less determined than them?

It is mind-numbing to repeat the same arguments over and over again, but it is necessary when so many have been brought to believe the same exact falsehoods. If we are unwilling to engage with those who repeat nonsensical talking points that they half-remembered from a John Oliver clip or a slogan by Moms Demand Action, then how can we ever hope to make progress in the restoration of our rights?

It is only through constant and repeated efforts to counter lies and ignorance that any minds will be changed. A properly devoted effort to advance our cause is essential for deradicalizing anti-gun zealots to the more modest position that all gun laws must be repealed. We the people are now, and always have been, our only hope to stand against tyranny.

Hesperia homeowner fends off intruder in gun battle caught on camera

HESPERIA, Calif. (KABC) — A Hesperia homeowner fended off an armed man who was trying to break into his home, exchanging gunfire until the man ran away.

The wild early-morning shootout was caught on camera – and the suspect turned out to be a neighbor who lived only a few doors down.

The incident happened early Monday morning, when the family heard someone trying to break into their home.

“I see him – he’s trying to kick the door in, demanding to come in. Then I see him pull out a gun.”

The homeowner ushered his wife and child into a closet for safety while he went to grab his own gun.

He came back to the front door and could see the man pointing his gun. At that point, they both started shooting at each other through the door.
The two exchanged gunfire through the door for less than a minute before the man ran away on foot, firing a shot at another home in the neighborhood as he fled.

A few minutes later, sheriff’s deputies showed up and eventually found and arrested the suspect in the neighborhood. The homeowner said the man turned out to be his neighbor, but they didn’t know each other or have any previous interaction.

The home was left with bullet holes in the walls and doors. The homeowner was armed with a 9 mm and says from the bullet casings it appears the intruder had a .22.

The sheriff’s department later identified the suspect as Erick Contreras, 39, a resident of Hesperia. Contreras was arrested and booked for attempted murder, shooting in an inhabited dwelling, attempted robbery and felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Attempted armed robber shot, killed inside Myrtle Beach home

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. (WMBF) – Myrtle Beach police revealed that an armed robber was shot and killed at a home on Monday night.

Officers were called to the shooting around 6 p.m. Monday in the 500 block of 34th Avenue North.

Responding officers found two people hurt inside the home. Both were taken to the hospital, but one person succumbed to their injuries while the second person is expected to be OK.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the person who died had gone into the residence with the intent to commit armed robbery, according to police.

“He and the other person knew each other previously, and there was no evidence of forced entry into the home. During the armed robbery attempt, the deceased suffered a gunshot wound,” according to a statement by Myrtle Beach police.

The name of the person who was shot and killed has not been released yet.

The investigation is ongoing.

CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A Cuyahoga Falls resident called police Saturday morning and told them he had shot a home intruder.

The shooting occurred in the 2200 block of Richmond Road shortly before 5:45 a.m., according to a Cuyahoga Falls police press release.

Police say they found a 41-year-old man with gunshot wounds in the home. He was pronounced dead at 6 a.m., police said.

The man’s identity has not been released pending the notification of his family.

The incident is currently under investigation by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department and the Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

Washington Post Pushes Extreme Fear Porn Claiming Super Secret FBI Report of Mass QAnon Hordes Planning to Invade Washington DC

According to the Washington Post, the FBI has shared super-secret, non-specific, possible-threat assessments to include militant Qanon supporters posing as National Guard during the inauguration of JoeBama.  Abject silliness has now turned to the structurally absurd.   Of course the evidence is anonymous and denied in the middle of the article… but still, pushed by WaPo.

[Washington Post] – The FBI privately warned law enforcement agencies Monday that far-right extremists have discussed posing as National Guard members in Washington and others have reviewed maps of vulnerable spots in the city — signs of potential efforts to disrupt Wednesday’s inauguration, according to an intelligence report obtained by The Washington Post.

The document, a summary of threats that the FBI identified in a Monday intelligence briefing, warned that both “lone wolves” and adherents of the QAnon extremist ideology.

[…] The FBI on Monday declined to characterize the credibility or gravity of the threats it outlined for law enforcement in advance of the inauguration.

The agency instead pointed to remarks FBI Director Christopher A. Wray made last week, when he said the agents were monitoring a “extensive amount of concerning online chatter” and noted the challenge of “trying to distinguish what’s aspirational versus what’s intentional.”

Masked midgets running amok would be more believable than Qanon adherents planning a domestic invasion of Washington DC…. but, whatevs.

A few months ago, I was having a few beers with TAC managing editor Matt Purple, and we ended up pondering the great question of our times: why did people vote for Trump?

After tossing around the usual answers (a reaction against Hillary’s hawkishness, his carefully curated aura of success, post-industrial blue collar angst), Matt told me about an acquaintance of his whose vote for Trump was pure belligerence. His justification for his vote, as relayed to me by Matt, was something like: “Look around you. These people want us gone” (“us,” presumably, being straight, white, conservative, religious people). He knew Trump was a cad and a moron, but he didn’t care because Trump would fight for him. The painful symbolism of the 26,000 National Guard troops in D.C.

Those of you who are reading this post are the type of people who pay attention to things. That’s why you already know that 26,000 National Guard troops drawn from all over America and from Puerto Rico, have assembled in Washington, D.C., in advance of Joe Biden’s inauguration on Wednesday. (That’s about three divisions worth of troops.) But have you given serious thought to what the troops’ presence means?

I’ve heard from some optimistic people who believe that the troops are the last phase in a Trumpian plan to reclaim America and maintain it as a true constitutional republic, rather than the socialist tyranny the Democrats seem to have planned. I’m a perennial pessimist, so I’m sorry to say that I don’t believe that the troops’ presence means anything good.

Instead, I’m inclined to agree with Tucker Carlson’s brilliant Monday night opening monologue regarding the deeper meaning behind a massive D.C. lockdown that makes it look like Baghdad, circa 2003. As Tucker noted, this troop build-up is five times the number of military personnel currently stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan combined.

Biden Vows to Defeat America’s Oldest and Largest Civil Rights Group

U.S.A. -(AmmoLand.com)- Joe Biden wants Americans to believe that he will focus on what he calls “the renewal of a politics that’s about solving problems – not stoking the flames of hate and chaos.”

Yet what “problem” is Biden promising to “solve” before he even takes office? Why the “defeat” of the National Rifle Association, a group of over 5 million Americans of all different backgrounds from all different walks of life united in their commitment to the nation’s constitutional freedoms.

Biden issued this “pledge” in a January 8 tweet that falsely tried to suggest the men and women of the NRA were somehow implicated in an infamous crime that was committed a decade ago by a manifestly deranged individual with no clear motivation or political agenda.

Defaming one’s political opponents – and by extension, their supporters – is hardly unheard of in Washington, D.C. But doing so while claiming the mantle of a “unifier” is especially hypocritical, particularly at a time when the nation has real problems to solve, including the economic, psychological, and physical threats posed by the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

If Joe Biden were reading the newspapers – or better yet, NRA-ILA’s own Grassroots Alert – he would know that a viewpoint uniting an especially large and diverse group of Americans in 2020 was the necessity of owning a firearm for personal protection. Last year was the busiest ever for the national background check system used to process retail firearms transactions. Americans, by all accounts, voted in record numbers with their feet and their pocketbooks in favor of their Second Amendment rights as the country struggled through one calamity after another.

Germany to hold quarantine breakers in refugee camps and “detention centers.”

Germans who repeatedly refuse to quarantine after being exposed to COVID-19 will be held in detention centers — and even under police guard, according to reports.

Officials in the state of Saxony — which is experiencing one of the worst outbreaks in the European nation — have already approved plans to hold quarantine-breakers in a fenced-off section of a refugee camp, the Telegraph said.

Another state, Brandenburg, also plans to use a section of a refugee camp.

In Schleswig-Holstein, repeat offenders will be kept in a special area in a juvenile detention center, the report said, citing Germany’s Welt newspaper.
