Anti-Gun Fury over Trump 2A Exec. Order; Dem States Could Double Down

Washington gun owners expect Democrats who control the state legislature to double down on gun control in response to President Trump’s executive order protecting the Second Amendment.

While the reaction from gun prohibition lobbying groups to President Donald Trump’s executive order to protect the Second Amendment was predictable fury, grassroots gun rights activists in the Pacific Northwest—where Democrats are in control—expect them to “double-down” in retaliation.

The question was raised on Facebook, and remarks posted in response to this question—As Trump dismantles Biden’s gun control agenda, will Washington Democrats double down out of spite?—tell the tale. More about this in a minute.

Trump’s 451-word executive order met with immediate resistance from gun control groups, exemplified by Common Dreams, “An executive order issued Friday by President Donald Trump that aims to rollback gun control measures instituted by his predecessor received a swift rebuke from critics who said the order should be seen as a giveaway to the profit-hungry gun industry at the expense of a society ruthlessly harmed by gun violence year after year after year.”

Trump’s order covers all actions during the period from January 2021 through January 2025 focusing on rules promulgated by the Justice Department and Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives during that time period. It also directs the Attorney General to review reports and related documents issued by the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, which President Trump has abolished.

ANALYSIS: Is Anti-Gun Sen. Chuck Schumer Headed for Trouble?

The Western Journal is reporting that New York Senator Chuck Schumer—the veteran anti-gunner whose Capitol Hill career dating back to his days in the U.S. House invariably gravitated toward increasingly restrictive gun control schemes—could be in trouble with the Justice Department.

Writing at the Western Journal, Ben Zeisloft, editor of the Republic Sentinel, says Schumer, Democrat minority leader in the Senate, has been sent a letter by Edward R. Martin, Jr., U.S. Attorney for the District Of Columbia, asking the senator about remarks he made five years ago at a media event in which he seemed to be threatening Supreme Court Associate Justices Brett Kavanaugh and Neil Gorsuch in relation to abortion rights cases.

On March 4, 2020, Schumer was filmed declaring, “I want to tell you, Gorsuch! I want to tell you, Kavanaugh! You have released the whirlwind, and you will pay the price. You won’t know what hit you if you go forward with these awful decisions.” He was standing in front of a banner for the Center for Reproductive Rights.

In his letter, Martin wrote, “I respectfully request that you clarify your comments from March 4, 2020…We take threats against public officials very seriously. I look forward to your cooperation with my letter of inquiry after request.”

The Journal story appears at the same time another report about quick actions taken by newly-sworn Attorney General Pam Bondi. According to the Western Journal’s Samantha Chang, Bondi “issued a barrage of directives aimed at restoring the ‘integrity and credibility’ of the Department of Justice by eradicating the weaponization of the agency to target political opponents and push left-wing agendas.”
Long story short: With the return of Donald Trump to the White House, and the installation of a new attorney general, the day of reckoning for far-left politicians and bureaucrats could be on the horizon.

Now We Know Who was Running the Country for Joe Biden

Have you noticed how leftists are losing their minds over Elon Musk’s Department of Government Efficiency to expose rampant waste and corruption? As Musk uncovers shocking levels of mismanagement and even actions aiding America’s enemies, critics have launched coordinated attacks on him, implying that he’s the one who is actually running the White House.

“No one voted for Elon Musk!” they say.

Time Magazine’s latest issue has joined the fray, featuring Musk seated confidently at the Resolute Desk—a symbolic jab suggesting he’s really the one in charge. The outrage is ironic, considering the same voices now wailing about Musk’s alleged control were silent while Joe Biden spent four years clearly not running the White House.

Why does this matter? Well, we now have fresh allegations from Lindy Li, a former Democratic National Committee (DNC) insider, about who was running the White House for Joe Biden.

And it’s quite terrifying.

Once a proud fundraiser for Joe Biden and Kamala Harris, Li has turned into an insider spilling the Democratic Party’s most closely held secrets—and, boy, does she have stories.

Her revelations pull back the curtain on what has been described as a chaotic and delusional 2024 campaign for the Democrats, which spectacularly collapsed under the weight of its own hubris. Li has revealed intriguing insider details about how Joe Biden was ultimately ousted, and what Pelosi and Obama really think of Kamala. Back in December, she revealed new dirt on Joe Biden’s mental decline. “The president has not been cognitively fit to assume the duties of the Oval Office for a number of years now,” she told Fox News. “And it breaks my heart because I know President Biden and I love the man, but he is in no shape or form able to carry out the duties that the Commander in Chief requires, and it’s just devastating.”

But it’s her revelations about what happened in the White House in the aftermath of Biden’s devastating performance in his June debate on CNN with Trump that are truly jaw-dropping.

According to Li, Joe Biden, already staggering from public scrutiny, effectively lost control of the White House after that fateful debate. The event reportedly prompted an audacious power shuffle at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue—one spearheaded by none other than Hunter Biden.

Li alleges that, following Biden’s disastrous debate drubbing, Hunter essentially took over White House operations. Speaking with podcaster Shawn Ryan, she painted a picture of dysfunction at the highest levels of government: “After the [CNN] debate, Hunter basically commandeered the White House. He sat in on all of the White House top-level meetings. We had a former cocaine addict sitting in on the most sensitive meetings of the most consequential and most important government in world history. Does that sit right with you?”

Ryan’s immediate reaction—“No”—reflected what many are surely thinking.

“Without security clearance mind you,” Li added.

The idea that Hunter Biden, with no security clearance, was allegedly dictating the flow of information to his father is a much bigger deal than Elon Musk going after government waste, don’t you think?

“That’s who was basically running the show. So Hunter basically battened down the hatches after the debate to make sure his father would only receive intel he pre-approved.”

The media’s and the Democrats’ hypocrisy is glaring. They attack Elon Musk for exposing waste, accusing him of having too much power without having been elected, while their lack of scrutiny during the Biden presidency allowed for an unelected crack addict to run the country.

I Meme Therefore I Am 

Here, Samantha Power, the former administrator of the USAID proudly highlights the agency’s role in influencing “strategically important elections” by using the “Democratic Elections Fund.” She also discusses how USAID funds journalists—not only to report the news but also to “fact-check” incoming information.

USAID has directed nearly $500 million into the secretive, U.S. government-funded NGO Internews Network. This organization has collaborated with 4,291 media outlets, produced 4,799 hours of broadcasts in a single year—reaching up to 778 million people—and trained over 9,000 journalists as of 2023. IN has also supported social media censorship initiatives.

Furthermore, USAID has funded and trained thousands of lawyers, judges, and election workers, conducted polls questioning election legitimacy, published reports alleging fraud, and played a role in overseeing new elections—both domestically and abroad—among other activities.

USAID Helped Fund Hamas Tunnel System

If you’ve seen all those videos of Hamas’ underground cities in which they plan and prepare for their urban warfare against Israelis, you will notice a lot of interesting things.

One of them is that they are all lined with massive amounts of concrete. There are miles and miles of these tunnels and bunkers, and most of the destruction in Northern Gaza is the result of Israel systematically destroying the UNDERGROUND city that Hamas built. The bombs fall to destroy those bunker-like tunnels, and the result is that the buildings above also get flattened.

So where did all that concrete come from, you might ask… It turns out that USAID helped build the cement factory with hundreds of millions of dollars in aid money and pays the company for whom we built the factory for the products, giving them a steady source of funds.

So yes, USAID helped build the Hamas tunnels in Gaza from which the planning and preparation for October 7th happened, and from which Hamas has conducted the war that has destroyed Gaza.

EXPOSED: Taxpayer Dollars Laundered Through NGOs to Everytown, Other Anti-Gun Operations.

Have you ever heard of NEO Philanthropy? They’re a left-wing group that has been around for more than 40 years. NEO wants folks to believe it’s a partnership between “changemakers and funders.” They claim to provide “resources to groups accelerating change.” Race, gender, and DEI are huge for them, but guns are a problem for them, too.

An incredible database has outed NEO Philanthropy’s actual duties, and those of thousands of other similar groups. NEO, it turns out, is nothing more than a middleman. It receives money and funnels some of it to Everytown for Gun Safety as well as other leftwing, anti-gun groups.

The website is called DataRepublican.com and it will forever change the way nonprofits handle their funding, especially those on the left.

A Closer look

“Have you ever wondered where the money goes? Billions of dollars are spent on government grants, charities, and other organizations every year,” the DataRepublican.com website states. “We’re connecting the dots between government grants, charities, and drawing connections to expose where the money flows.”

The site has already garnered high praise.

“Worth following @datarepublican,” said Elon Musk.

“Love your insights! You’re a must follow on this platform,” said Charlie Kirk.

It has already proven incredibly useful. On Wednesday, NAGR’s Hannah Hill “exposed taxpayer money flowing to Bloomberg gun control orgs.”

The next day, she used the website to link USAID funds that were laundered to Everytown, Giffords and other gun-control organizations.

To gain this power over time, what if they created a system of contractors who would gain lucrative funds from Federal Government Departments and funnel these funds back to people and organizations who would help keep them in power in perpetuity.

Once this group of narcissists achieves a drastic reduction in birthrates among the citizenry, they encourage a mass migration of foreigners into the country illegally, provides them funding, encourages anchor babies so they can stay in this country “legally.”

Now the narcissists turn to the election systems. They erode voter identification laws, implement mail-in ballot and ballot harvesting initiatives using their operatives across the country. They install fellow narcissists in state legislatures across the country to appoint ballot watchers and stuff ballot boxes with votes for their candidates. How loud and mad do you think this group of narcissists would be if someone managed to gain power in spite of all these things against them?

Imagine the gnashing of teeth as the corruption begins to be exposed, the funding is dismantled, the fake voters are deported, the voter rolls are purged of dead people, the abortion push is drastically throttled, the mutilation of children outlawed, and parental rights supported and affirmed. D.C. Federal Judges Join the Resistance
Overriding the President’s Control of the Department of Justice

Some judges have seized upon a new form of resistance to President Trump’s policies and agenda — Refusing to dismiss criminal cases with prejudice in accordance with the President’s instructions to the Attorney General. Three of the eight federal district judges in D.C. who are on senior status,1 joined by one of their colleagues, have tried to undercut Presidential authority in this manner.

This article will consider one such case before Senior Judge Beryl A. Howell. Judge Howell has frustrated the President’s clear intent by refusing to dismiss indictments against Nicholas DeCarlo and Nicholas Ochs with prejudice. She did this despite the fact that, as she admitted, “It has long been settled that the Judiciary generally lacks authority to second-guess those Executive determinations, much less to impose its own charging preferences.”

In her explanatory Memorandum and Order (“Memorandum”) Judge Howell not only refused to dismiss the indictments with prejudice but went out of her way to take gratuitous and irrelevant shots at the President and the pardons he granted pursuant to his Constitutional powers.

The Presidential Amnesty Proclamation

The date he was inaugurated, President Trump a signed a Proclamation that essentially granted amnesty for all “offenses related to events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.” The Proclamation addressed separately defendants who had been convicted and those who had been indicted but not convicted. Of those who had been convicted, they either had their sentences commuted “to time served as of January 20, 2025,” or were granted a “full, complete and unconditional pardon” for their offenses.

However, there were other defendants who were still subject to pending indictments for which there were not yet final convictions. For these, the President’s Proclamation directed the Attorney General “to pursue dismissal with prejudice to the government of all pending indictments against individuals for their conduct related to the events at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.” (bolded emphasis added)

The “dismissal with prejudice to the government” clause was intended to ensure that the government would never again be able to prosecute this category of defendants who were not yet burdened with a final order of conviction. It was the functional equivalent of a pardon. Judge Howell has now done everything she can to thwart that Presidential intent.

Biden Admin Quietly Funneled $3 Mil to Palestinian Government ‘Security Forces’ for Weapons Training—After Its Members Carried Out Attacks on Israelis.

The Biden administration, weeks before leaving power, funneled more than $3 million in taxpayer cash to the Palestinian Authority Security Forces (PASF), according to a nonpublic notice transmitted to Congress that was reviewed by the Washington Free Beacon. Those funds allowed the PASF to conduct “firearms and ammunition” training—and came after its members carried out scores of attacks against Israelis.

The Jan. 3 funding notice outlined more than $20 million in funding for regional security projects, including those in the West Bank, Gaza Strip, Lebanon, and Jordan. Just over $3 million of these funds were earmarked for the PASF, which the United States is training to handle security operations in the war-torn Gaza Strip. As it does so, the PASF is reportedly seeking more than $680 million from the American government over the next four years.

That spending—both past and, potentially, future—is drawing concerns in both Israel and Washington, D.C., given PASF’s deep and longstanding ties to terrorism carried out against Israelis.

PASF members conducted more than 1,500 terror attacks against Israel in 2023—attacks that came with the Palestinian government’s backing, according to a Palestinian Media Watch investigation shared with the Free Beacon. More than 60 percent “of the number of Martyrs in the West Bank” are affiliated with the Palestinian Fatah movement, which sponsors the PASF, “and most of them are members of the [PA] Security Forces or their sons,” the investigation found. Nearly 400 Palestinians imprisoned for terrorism are known PASF members.

Former Federal Reserve Adviser Indicted on Espionage Charges

Acting U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ed Martin announced Friday that the Department of Justice has indicted a former senior adviser for the Federal Reserve on espionage charges.

Sixty-three-year-old John Harold Rogers of Virginia was arrested Friday and charged with conspiracy to commit economic espionage and with making false statements. Rogers allegedly conspired to steal FRB trade secrets in order to aid China.

In the federal civil service, it’s a difficult task to terminate employment as it can take several instances of a problem that an employee doesn’t resolve before they’re terminated, however, insubordination is one of the things that management can, and will quickly send someone packing for, especially if they’re in the ‘excepted service’ which is – mostly – management. I suspect this guy will soon be g-o-n-e.

Unlike Trump 1.0, when bureaucrats frequently ignored the administration and stymied its agenda, this time around, the lesson has been learned. Resistance is being met with immediate action. The Resistance Attempts a Coup at USAID and It Doesn’t Go Well.

The director of employee and labor relations at the US Agency for International Development has been placed on administrative leave after a stunning refusal to follow directions given by President Trump’s transition team.

Tuesday, acting USAID Administrator Jason Gray ordered nearly 60 senior bureaucrats placed on indefinite administrative leave for taking actions to evade Trump’s executive orders; see Trump Suspends As Many As 60 Senior Bureaucrats for Trying to Evade His Executive Orders – RedState. In a memo, Gray said, “We have identified several actions within USAID that appear to be designed to circumvent the president’s executive orders and the mandate from the American people.“ As a result, we have placed a number of USAID employees on administrative leave with full pay and benefits until further notice while we complete our analysis of these actions.”

Gary Whittenberger, Reducing Gun Violence in the United States

Gary Whittenberger is a retired psychologist and freelance writer known for his thoughtful contributions to discussions on psychology, philosophy, science, and religion. Holding a doctorate in clinical psychology from Florida State University, he worked as a psychologist in federal prisons for 23 years. Whittenberger is an active member of the freethought community and co-directed the Tallahassee Freethinkers’ Forum. He has authored several works, including God Wants YOU to be an Atheist, and has written for Skeptic Magazine, Free Inquiry, and other publications. His articles often tackle complex topics such as personhood, free will, and gun violence prevention.

Scott Douglas Jacobsen: Quick backdrop questions, what have the work in clinical psychology, in federal prisons, and freethought activism, taught about the American culture’s psyche around guns–the heart of the matter?

Dr. Gary WhittenbergerScott, I want to thank you for this opportunity to talk about my article “A Comprehensive Program for Reducing Gun Violence in the US” which appeared in the October/November 2024 issue of Free Inquiry magazine.  Also, I compliment you on the great work you are doing with The Good Men Project.  We need more journalism, analysis, and commentary like that.

Turning to your question:  I think Americans have an obsession with guns which is unhealthy.  I think it has roots in the founding of a new country, exploring and settling the western frontier, and rebellion against old governments, all of which occurred a few centuries ago.  Fear and anger at levels higher in our country than what are found in other countries stimulate the ownership, purchase, and use of firearms.  Part of the solution is to lower these emotions and part of it is to reduce the access to and the number of firearms in the country.

Jacobsen: In the Uvalde case, what were the failures of law enforcement?

Whittenberger: Law enforcement officers failed to confront the shooter as soon as they could have and should have.  In my opinion, whenever there are at least two officers who have firearms on the scene, they should call for backup but begin to engage the shooter.  This response needs to be stipulated in policies, laws, and training.  Officers who do not have the willingness or courage to act to defend others in stressful situations should not be in law enforcement.

Jacobsen: How can gun regulations balance with Second Amendment rights?

WhittenbergerAs I said in my article, the Second Amendment needs to be amended.  Although American citizens should have a right to possess, own, and use guns, this right should not be absolute.  The right should be regulated, restricted, and limited for the common good, especially to minimize unjustified aggression.  I have suggested that ordinary citizens be limited to three firearms.  Nobody needs an armory.  I think “military type” guns should be held from the public.  I believe that five different groups of persons should be prohibited from having guns.  Any ethical, well-trained, and responsible firearms user has no good reason to oppose these reforms.

Jacobsen: What is the importance of considering mental health in approach reduction of gun violence?

WhittenbergerI think it is extremely important, but I don’t agree with the more conservative pundits who think it should be the only approach to reducing gun violence.  The more guns there are in a society, the more unjustified gun violence there will be.  The more guns are accessible to people likely to misuse them, the more unjustified violence there will be.  Yes, treating mental health problems is necessary, but not sufficient.  We need to identify, diagnose, and treat mental health problems early, during childhood, and this is why we need so many more social workers, counselors, and psychologists to work with children in our schools.

Jacobsen: What community intervention efforts can mitigate gun-related violence?

WhittenbergerI think politicians, office holders, nonprofits, and all citizens of a community should strongly advocate for and support gun control policies, as I have outlined in my article.  We all need to commit ourselves to slightly reducing our freedoms to possess, own, and use guns in order to reduce gun violence and promote the common good.  Give up a little in order to gain so much more!  I support buy-back programs conducted by cities and counties.

Jacobsen: What other training or preparedness might help law enforcement agencies?

Whittenberger: Law enforcement agencies need to improve both their employee selection procedures and their training.  Officers need to use their agency-issued firearms in a prudent, rational, ethical, and legal manner.   Over-use and under-use of firearms by officers are both problems which need to be corrected.  We saw in the Uvalde situation that officers took up to 75 minutes to mount their counter-attack, which was way too long.  On the other hand, we have seen in other kinds of situations that officers are too prone to use their firearms too quickly to resolve a situation.

Jacobsen: What other reasonable and unreasonable approaches to the reduction of gun violence are being proposed other than, for example, pray?

WhittenbergerI think I have mentioned most of the reasonable approaches in my article.  Banning firearms for private citizens in the US would be an unreasonable approach.  I think more than half the citizens do have legitimate uses for the ownership of firearms for protection, hunting, and target practice, but ownership of firearms by some citizens, of military-grade guns, and more than three guns is not reasonable.

Jacobsen: What would be a reasonable estimate of efficacy of these proposition to reduce gun violence?

WhittenbergerI think full implementation of the practical steps I have recommended would reduce gun violence by 90%.

Jacobsen: What might be some criticisms of your approach?

WhittenbergerA common criticism is “Implementation of your recommended gun regulation program would lead to the banning and confiscation of guns among private citizens.”  This is a slippery slope argument which is used to scare people and arouse resistance to gun regulation.  My approach is a common sense and gradual approach which would not be fully in place for about 75 years.  And yet, reductions in gun violence will gradually dissipate over that time period.   Responsible users of firearms should be willing to sacrifice just a little of their freedom for the common good which comes from a reduction of gun violence in our society.

Jacobsen: What might be barriers to implementation at the state of the federal level?

Whittenberger:   Extreme selfishness, fear, the NRA, and owners of large numbers of guns would be barriers to implementation.

Hundreds March for ‘Intifada’ in NYC Hours After Attacks in New Orleans, Las Vegas

Hundreds of pro-Palestinian protesters marched in New York City on New Year’s Day for “intifada,” blocking Sixth Avenue in Manhattan just hours after a terror attack in New Orleans, Louisiana, and an explosion in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The Times of Israel reported:

Attendees chanted “Resistance is glorious — we will be victorious,” “We will honor all our martyrs,” and “Gaza, you make us proud.” They carried signs that said “Zionism is cancer,” “No war on Iran,” and “End all US aid to Israel.”

“There is only one solution — Intifada revolution,” they chanted, using a common refrain at anti-Israel rallies in the US. “Intifada,” Arabic for “uprising,” is associated with the Second Intifada, a period of terror attacks in Israel in the early 2000s marked by suicide bombings.…

A handful of pro-Israel counter-protesters showed up to wave Israeli and American flags on the sidelines of the demonstration, while heckling the anti-Israel activists. A Jewish retiree led chants of “Get a job” directed at the protesters.

The New Orleans attack took place in the early hours of the morning, when Shamsud Din Jabbar, who had reportedly pledged loyalty to ISIS, rammed his car into a crown on Bourbon Street, killing more than a dozen people.

In Las Vegas, a Tesla cybertruck that was packed with explosives exploded outside the entrance to the Trump Hotel, killing at least one person and injuring several more. The suspect in the latter attack died in the explosion, police said.
