Woman opens fire and kills man, injures two others after smashing into parked car

SAN ANTONIO (WOAI) — Police are investigating a shooting that left two people dead and two others in the hospital. It happened outside a home on the 400 block of Hazel Street on the West Side.

It all started just before 10 p.m. Wednesday night when a driver was traveling at high speed and crashed into a parked car – and then for some reason she got out of the car and started firing.

The owner of the vehicle that was hit, a man in his 50’s, and two others came out to see what happened. That’s when the female driver got out of the car and opened fire, hitting all three people.

A neighbor came out to help, and ended up shooting the driver of the car, a woman in her late 20’s or early 30’s. She died at the scene.

“It was a significant crash, like I said, enough for people to come to the aid and check on the driver’s well-being,” explained Officer Corey Schuler.

The man whose car was hit died at the hospital. The two others, a teenage boy and a female in her 50’s, are still in the hospital with critical injuries.

Police are still trying to figure out what caused the driver to open fire. The investigation is ongoing.
