The Department of Defense announced today the deaths of 13 service members who were supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel. They died Aug. 26, 2021, as the result of an enemy attack while supporting non-combatant evacuation operations in Kabul, Afghanistan. The incident is under investigation.

Ssgt Hoover was stationed with our USMC son in San Diego a few years ago. The Corps is a relatively small branch of the armed services and this has had quite an effect on our men and women around the globe.
It’s a hard thing to lose someone you know.
It can be even harder when you also worked with them.
